*yawn* typical Clippers. There's been no real improvement as a team in the last 3 years. Still a 5th seed/ 1st rd exit team. SMH. So many holes on this roster. Kudos to the Spurs.

How many face ups did Blake have this game? It seems that many times instead of letting Blake face up the ball handlers would defer to Jamal and he would take a low percentage shot. If the ball went to Matt he would pass back to Chris and CP would motion Blake to set a pick for him. Just annoyed at how the Clippers play sometimes. They have very high percentage plays but refuse to use them when they need points. If Blake is facing up more than likely he will score or at least draw a foul or dish out for an open pass. When they ball handlers go away from him (mainly Jamal) they still have at least 10 sec on the clock to give Blake the ball again for that good shot. But they don't, and Jamal will try to draw a foul or take a contested low percentage perimeter shot. I want to blame the whole team for how they played on offense not just Jamal. It just looks like I'm blaming Jamal the most probably because I'm focusing on him more than the other players on the team.

Tl:dr - If you can't get the ball to Blake, not setting screens for the wing players or doing a pick and roll, try again. Don't take those stupid contested perimeter shots trying to draw a foul. I'm blaming Jamal, Matt, Dudley (basically the wing players) for not executing a simple entry pass to Blake. They see him, Blake calls for the ball, they look at him, then they turn and pass it out to another guy who is standing around the 3pt line. Goodness gracious I'm super angry.

This was an "effort loss". Closing out shooters, securing rebounds, 50/50 balls, taking lazy jumpers instead of going inside. Vinny would have been crucified for a loss like this last year, but I said it then and I'll say it now... these type of losses are on the players.

To beat the Spurs the Clippers needed decent shooting from the outside. Unfortunately outside of Crawford, nobody stepped up. Blake Griffin did his part and then some, DJ & Jamal had good games, but nobody else had meaningful contributions. Chris Paul- just an awful game. CP couldn't make anything, wouldn't take some of the open looks, and became kind of a ball-stopper on offense, eating away shot-clock without gaining any sort of advantage for the team.

The Spurs bench, one of the best in the league, reminds of last season's Clipper bench. The Clipper reserves, mediocre at best, just couldn't keep up. Patrick Mills especially just torched the Clippers, starters & bench.

Then you look at the rebounding #'s. DJ & Blake with 30 boards, but then the next highest was the smallest guy on the team, Chris Paul, with 3. That's just a lack of awareness & quickness by the wings.

Very disappointing loss, but gotta bounce back in couple days vs the Grizz who have been playing better.

Pretty much. But homers whine that anyone who points this out is "just being too negative."

I don't really care that we can torch the likes of the Bucks and Sixers or even beat fraud teams like the Blazers. When it's time to play OKC and the Spurs, our obvious flaws get exposed over and over again and nothing ever changes.

Our rebounding is terrible! We should be getting 67- bards from the 3, 4 boards from the 2. 5-6 from the backup bits. We got 2, 0, and 2 respectively. We need to trade for some solid rebounders and defenders. (Hello Evans and MBA a Moute!)

Ok I will get flamed for this - I know he has been balling, but it is time to trade jamal this summer (and I'd say this season if we were getting jj back). His need to be the man down the stretch is hindering blake. He never looks for him. Also, his game does not translate to the playoffs, and some sort of package involving him might actually get us a consistent above average 3. We can pick up a backup big in free agency essentially. I never want to see barnes or Dudley on the court in a clippers jersey ever again.

CP3 played great last two games. So to blame the injury is laughable. Bottom line is CP3 is shook by the Spurs.

It's funny how CP3 didn't look "injured" or "exhausted" when he was playing big minutes at the All-Star Game. It's time to admit it: CP3 shrinks in too many big games, especially against the Spurs. End of story.

Yes, we have no small forwards or backup bigs. Yes, Jamal plays no defense. But CP3 is on a max contract and refused to take a pay cut - after making demand after demand, threatening to go to Houston or Atlanta with Dwight, and trying to throw our organization under the bus all summer long, by the way - and he played like a D-League role player in a must-win game tonight. I would trade him for LeBron in a second if LBJ really wants to be a Clipper.

Look at the freaking rebounding only two players had more than one rebound outside of the bigs and its under 4. Doc has to do his damn job and get this team rebounding as a unit.

Dud needs to go. He is a "starter" coming off the bench, and his production is nill. Maybe we have been spoiled rotten with a great bench in seasons past, but this is getting a little bit ridiculous

Barnes is GARBAGE. Get him off this team. First getting the whole team to party too hard with him in Cabo, and then quitting on the team tonight. I've had enough of him. What a waste of money - knew it before the ink even dried on his contract.

If you look at the second photo, you'll see Ryan Gomes in it.

Our SF's are struggling hard enough without having the stank o' Gomes all over them.

Doc needs to declare him a banned substance for all Clippers.

Blake should come out and make a statement this team only goes as far as Paul plays. If Blake is suppose to take the next step then Paul at the least needs to have a Wade impact in big games. As far as Crawford people are insane if they want him gone he covers for so many poor players on the team. Weak defender but when Paul goes dribble happy or the SFs give us nothing or JJ goes Billups he wins us. Games.

That looks like something that should be left for the off-season, the gone fishing stuff. Heard that Jamal went to Seattle to play pick-up games. I guess he couldn't convince the other guys to go with him and stay sharp, lol.

By the way, it's not a surprise that our flakiest players - Barnes, DJ, Dudley - were the ones getting wasted in Cabo. Meanwhile, at least Blake, CP3, and Jamal were still focused on basketball during the break. Really shows who's professional and who's immature.

Maybe DJ didn't party too hard as he was pretty sharp and played his part. Barnes on the other hand- every photo he's holding drink(s). He was probably still suffering some sort of hangover effects, lol.

Barnes and Dudley are pathetic. I know no team in their right mind would trade for both, but maybe if can somehow Barnes for a set of dumbbells then at least Dudley can finally get in freakin' shape. His arms look like they've never seen the gym.

By the way, Barnes and Dudley each a whopping ONE rebound. Great job guys. Its sounds like you tried really hard out there.

Damn, are people turning on CP3 after one bad game? Yes, it was a horrible game by him, but I think he's allowed to have bad game every once in a while. And are you guys really trying to compare CP3 to Durant or Lebron? I love CP3 and think he's a top 5 player, but you all do realize he's only 6 feet, 175 lbs, right? He's not a physical freak of nature like Lebron or Blake and he doesn't have incredible length like Durant. The fact that he's built like an normal person means he's bound to get hurt and not be as durable as some of these giants in the NBA. No, he's doesn't have the physical gifts of a Lebron, Durant, or Paul George even, but he is still the BEST point guard in the game. You could say that his record against Tony Parker and Westbrook isn't great, but they also have had better teams around them than CP3. If you switched CP3 with either of those PGs, Chris would automatically make that team better. CP3 has always (until very recently) been the best player on his team who had to carry everyone on his back, you can't say the same for Parker and Westbrook.

I don't think this explains it away, he's played fine against those teams this year, he just sucked tonight.

Superstars have bad games though, we can't deny this.

There's stuff like this:

http://www.basketball-reference.com/box ... 80UTA.html

And this:

http://www.basketball-reference.com/box ... 10MIN.html

It's life, and a bad scoring game for Paul who averages 19 pts is different from a bad scoring game for Durant who's at 32 pts a game. If you're looking at things like percentages and scoring, comparing to similar stature players makes more sense and you'll find similar situations, they can have more of a difficult time getting good shots up and they can't bully their way to the basket.

I thought DJ played pretty good today. He grabbed 18 boards and had 6 blocks. Not to mention he knocked down two key free throws to stop Pop from doing the Hack a DJ. CP3 looked pretty bad today though...I hope it doesn't mean his shoulder is still injured...he grabbed it a few times tonight. But when Patty Mills owns CP3, it makes it difficult for the Clippers to beat the Spurs.

This exact reason is why i believe Dudley is not injured. He is just using it as an excuse for his terrible play. If the injury he "has" is knee tendonitis the only way for it to healis REST right!? If you had knee tendinitis and wanted to play well and wanted to heal you would be resting and not going to Cabo and partying.

Dudley needs to be gone. Hasn't given us ONE THING. Can't even hit Wide open 3s

Barnes probably will be hard to get someone to take when his contract is like 3 years

Clippers need Small Forward. I would love if we could get Wilson Chandler or Trevor Ariza. They will atleast be better than what we have and they rebound too and assist.

You can keep making excuses, but for me, CP3 has officially run out of free passes after that embarrassing performance. He's had too many games like this during his time here, especially against the Spurs, to justify his max contract and "superstar" hype. Nobody's expecting perfection every night, but for a so-called "superstar" to get shut down and torched by Patty Mills is completely inexcusable.

CP3 is not fully 100 percent healthy anyone notice he hesitate shooting the 3 ball,he needs to strengthen his shoulders. A superstar? yes he is but in full health with no injury.

We need to improve the offensive and defensive rebounds and shoot the 3 ball to defeat the Spurs, thats the real reasons why we loss last night.

He played 24 minutes at the All-Star Game. If he truly isn't anywhere near 100% then he should have sat out and it was selfish of him to play. Nobody brought up his shoulder when he dropped 20 and 12 on the Blazers. CP3 grabbing his shoulder last night while playing like **** reminded me of Melo doing the same thing last year in the playoffs. In both cases, what they were really grabbing for was an excuse.

Face it, when it's time to play the Spurs, CP3 is mentally weak. In the biggest game of his career to date, Game 7 against the Spurs in 2008, CP3 deferred to Jeremy freaking Pargo in the clutch. Was his shoulder hurting then, too?

At some point, we can't keep making excuses for CP3. "Franchise players," "superstars" and "max contract guys" don't get annihilated by no-name scrubs in a must-win game like CP3 was last night. He needs to be held accountable, and he needs to take a back seat to Blake now, because the "CP3 offense," as proven over and over again, is not a winning strategy. CP3 has never gotten past the second round as the #1 option for a reason.

I'm with you. But I guess there are some that are perfect every day of their lives and expect no less from anyone on teams they root for. Best PG in the game has a bad day, time to fire him and Doc and everyone else. Rebuild this team. SMH

Nobody expects perfection, but is it really too much to ask for our max-contract "superstar" to play like one at home against a Spurs team missing three starters instead of getting dominated by Patty Mills? I really don't think that's an unreasonable expectation, and if it is, we're in deep trouble with this core.

You shake your head at needing to rebuild the team, but it's actually closer to the truth than we'd like to admit. Bottom line, outside of Blake, CP3 (when he decides to show up), and JJ (when healthy), the rest of the team is extremely flawed and not built for the playoffs. Even Crawford and DJ - do you really trust them in the playoffs? And I shouldn't have to explain why Barnes, Dudley, Hollins, et al. are useless.

It's only his 3rd game back after a long time out so maybe he is rusty, or maybe his shoulder was bothering him. His performance was disappointing but I think you are being harsh.

Repped High Quality Post

In his first game back, we crushed the Sixers.

In his second game back, he put up 20 and 12 in a win against the Blazers.

In the All-Star Game, CP3 put up 11, 13 and 3 in 24 minutes off the bench.

So his shoulder was fine for three decent performances but then when it's time to play the Spurs, he's suddenly too "injured" to take advantage of Patty Mills playing big minutes? Not buying it. Even at 50%, CP3 should outplay Patty Mills if he's as good as advertised. It's all mental with him against the Spurs (and in other must-win games).... he is shook.

As I said before CP3 has trouble guarding a quicker PG and he has problem when he is guarded by a taller opponent, Well it's not my opinion it's a fact. Mills is quicker than him.

What is wrong with Bullock, is he that bad in practice. Guy knows how to play D and can shoot, Doc open your eyes please.

We do'nt expect him to make every night 10+ points, he need to be that stopper in D and grab some boards and when he's open shoot the three we've enough people who can score

I would start him over Barnes and led Matt come off the bench which i think is better for him.

Dudley + (Mullens/Hollins/Green) i would trade for G.Davis (Magic).

The game was awfull, we need to play like a team in D and Offence.

I think that's exactly what happened last night actually. Nobody knows for sure if a seriously shoulder injury is going hold up every single night. And he didn't "shrink" against the Spurs last time we played them in a win when he had 23 pts on 8-13 shooting, 7 asts, 8 rebs, and 4 steals.

And let's say CP3 is only at 50%:he had 10pts, 9 assists, 4 steals. That's a little over 50% of his averages for points per game and almost at his assists per game average.
