"He's doing a lot better," Rivers said. "He's shooting a little bit. I don't know what that means, but at least he's moving around shooting. But there's been no update. I don't think he's improved....

Sometimes, I think some of you fans just want to see stuff done for the sake of doing stuff. There's no reason to buy out JJ at the moment.

The clippers team is so much better with JJ on the floor. I can't wait to see him back on the floor

Are people seriously wanting to but JJ out because he's injured? Some of you fans are jokes man why would you guys want to buy him out? We are so much better with him on the floor and even if he doesn't return this year he is a great player and teammate to the rest of the clipper sqaud. Stop acting like laker divas and start acting like true fans.

Like people that wanted matt Barnes gone. Now that he is balling all of a sudden he's a good player huh? He's more than a good player he stands up and gets along great with the team I never wanted him or DC gone I love the team we have right now. I'm so happy the people that are saying buy JJ out are nothing but fans

Problem is he can't stay on the floor. I don't want to buy him out by any means but I have no use for a Ferrari that is in the shop every other week.

I see your reasoning, but people are wanting to buy him out after he's only been here barely 6 months. That isn't rational thinking, it's flat out insanity.

Just because you can make move, doesn't mean you should.

EDIT: Also, I just remembered that even if we did buy out JJ to try and get a better player, it's against NBA rules to play any players we get in the playoffs. We would essentially sacrifice one of the best parts of the offense for a short term rental to do slightly better in the regular season.

Folks, just exercise patience instead of constantly trying to make moves just to get on ESPN's front page.

JJ has been instrumental in winning some key games down the stretch when we were down and we needed baskets, anybody remember the 3 he made against Dallas?

"Buy him out"... some of you guys!

I guess we could... then pick up Westbrook for the minimum right after OKC buys him out for missing a bunch of games

I am not surprised by these "buyout" comments. I already saw how quickly people went on the trade CP3 bandwagon. Also have seen people say that they want to trade Blake. Not surprised at all. Sometimes some posters here remind me of Knicks fans, Heat fans or Lakers fans and I don't mean that in a good way.

To be fair, if I were a Knicks fan right now I'd trade the whole squad for a McDonalds happy-meal.

It's been a struggle and I think depending on how his recovery goes he could be looked at as a moving piece for Melo. If the Knicks feel Melo is gone and don't want to deal with Chicago or take the poison pills in Lin and Asik in Houston we could have a chance. Depending how much Melo asks for we could send Barnes, Dudley, Redick, picks, and maybe crawford (hope not).

We could buy him out then get Ben Gordon to help us finish the season, just kidding.

I'd pass on Melo, still eager to see what we have in Granger. If that doesn't work out, maybe trying to get a Demarre Carroll from Atlanta. If we could get Korver and Carroll for Dudley and JJ, I'd have to think about it for a while. Regardless let's concentrate on what's in front of us, there is no point in doing anything other than waiting on JJ at this point. If the team doctors see something that they don't like for the future then maybe we can work a trade during the offseason. As of right now let's hope we get to see what this team can do at 100%.

With the exception of Bullock, our wings are "old." So we can't really be surprised when they break down like this. When on the court, J.J. has been solid. I know it's a small sample size, but with all the time he's missed due to injuries this season, I worry about his durability for the remainder of his contract.

I am more intrigued by Melo than LeBron. Melo always has wanted to play with Chris. Of Granger pans out right I don't even think we would need Melo.

JJ's problem was that Zbo or DeMarcus Cousins clobbered him.

I would trade Melo for some young assets/picks and tank like crazy in 2015. Too bad the Knicks don't have their 2014 draft pick and the Nuggets can swap in 2016.

I already gave up all hope for the Knicks a long time ago. The owner of the Knicks makes Donald Sterling look like a genius.

Melo can score but he needs the ball a lot. He'll eat a huge amount of our cap. While Melo's not the greatest creator he would be better served by a decent but cheaper pass first PG. LBJ is a PG in SG's clothing. Next year he and BG will be similar. Also the $$. I'd give 50-50 odds that LBJ goes to Cleveland if he gets the right pieces. Superstar teams are not always great. There can be only one top dog and two guys will have to take a back seat. LBJ for BG is the only reasonable course and I wouldn't do that even when drunk. If Grainger does well we won't be able to afford him because he has an expiring contract (I think) and we'll be out bid.

CP3 and BG will be getting raises and DJ's contract will be up for renewal. I think he will take any reasonable offer from us but our offer for $$ reasons will have to be the same or less than his present contract. If these were the days before CBA we could be like LAL and not care about tax I would get Deng if healthy and find a decent backup center.

I don't think we have any expiring contracts. Grainger will leave and Doc will bet on Bullock. Then Matt and Dudley and Hollins will be gone in 2015 giving Bullock 2014 to mature. Start Matt next year.

The Knicks roster is not bad you can not blame the owner, imagine a Carmelo+ Stoudemire+Chandler, with Smith and Bargnani, They are veterans at peak, I just don't understand the Knicks right now, they should be in top 8 in the east. In fact they are better team than those in the top 8 (in the paper).

If the Knicks get Phil Jackson in their front office it will be a step in the right direction, but I'm not sure if the Knicks need another self-entitled arrogant douchebag.

Knicks' defense is horrendous. They must have great shooting nights just in order to have a chance to win. All those players (other than Chandler) you mentioned aren't really known for defense and are inefficient volume shooters.

Their offense is horrendous as well. It usually consist of constant ISO ball and pull up J's. The ball rarely moves and if it does, it usually is a reset for Melo to work. They lack any form of identity.

Yup. I'm still having trouble figuring out how they had 54 wins last year with literally the same lineup. Unlike last year, many east teams are trying to tank this year, yet Knicks do worse. Doesn't make any sense.

Per Rotoworld

J.J. Redick (back) has ramped up his shooting routine at practice on Monday.

He still doesn't have a timetable to return and it's possible we don't see him until the playoffs. The Clippers will go with more Darren Collison and Matt Barnes until Jamal Crawford can make it back.

Is he going to be any good this season though? That is the question...he isn't useful this season if he can't hit the broad side or a barn when he returns.

First game back after missing 21 with the wrist injury, he dropped 19pts in 23 minutes on 53% shooting. The game after that, 33pts in 31 minutes on 71%.

Biggest difference is, that was his wrist... it's not easy to do cardio with a bad back. His conditioning will be more of an issue than his shot. Hopefully, he's swimming or running alterG or something.

Taking it and having use for it are two different things. Plus, do you know how much money it would take to have it in the shop every other week? lol

There's practicality and then there is insanity. Plus, I meant it as a metaphor. Very Happy

JJ Reddick has been shooting and traveling with the team per reporter. Doc says that JJ is feeling "alot better" , but still no timetable. Timetable isn't necessarily a bad thing , but Doc says....

JJ completely broke his entire right hand, one of his carpals, and a ligament near his elbow, and he came back and scored 20 on his FIRST game back, everybody chill! I believe in JJ Riddick!

Even if JJ can't hit the side of a barn, just having his movement on the court will be important. He HAS to be guarded, just his threat will open up the floor.

I had one. $50 to change a spark plug and one got fouled every month. Min $600 every service. Went to Sequoia and thought I was going to have to fly my mechanic in. The rear view mirror fell off every 3 mos. Who needs 140mph? You'll only go to jail.

Well that to me is the big question mark. Missing all these games

with a back injury which is obviously severe will he still

be able to do all that running...

Saw this and thought I'd share, I read another article saying Doc said JJ is feeling better, no timetable but he is feeling better

At the moment its even a difficult decision to allow them to come back. As good as Granger has been at the wing we can afford to keep Crawford and Redick out until we are absolutely sure they are 100% healthy and them some.

So in the playoffs I'm seeing a CP3, JJ , Granger, Blake, and DJ lineup with Collison , Crawford , Barnes, and big baby off of the bench, I like it... I can dig it
