Well it's pretty hard to beat a bench when every single position has started and could start for a number of teams today.

If he can be back by April 2nd @Phoenix in limited minutes and then ramp it up for the five game home stand would be perfect. We can't have the last two games like Billups did last season.

Great to see JJ practicing his shots. I hope he comes back very soon!

And yes, it was also great to see DJ in the background practicing his free throws, lol.

I just want to see him running up and down the court. I'm not worried about his shooting

The Clippers are nearing a decision on J.J. Redick's future this season. The team will determine in the upcoming weeks whether Redick is healthy enough to rejoin the team. If he's not, the club will likely....

Don't want to sound like a downer but I think we need Reddick to win a ring. With his shooting in the lineup along with Granger, that would be the perfect compliment to our big 3. Also allows DC and Jcross to come of the bench with Barnes and Davis.. We need you jj!

Wow that is ridiculous... Can't believe he can possibly miss the rest of the season and the playoffs. Hope this is a very unlikely possibility.

It sucks about J.J. but I honestly still think we are the best team in the NBA even without him.

Our SG position can consist of a number of players. Barnes, Jamal, Collison, Bullock, Green and even Danny Granger can fill that spot.

Does anyone else think this seems like a smokescreen? I read the same thing on (http://probasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/03/13/report-clippers-con sidering-shutting-down-j-j-redick-for-season/) and thought to myself, why even bother why not just keep him there in case unless it just looks terrible or season ending surgery is needed.

Think he has until April to get ready or Doc will think its best to rest long term. He needs to be doing non-contact practice drills in a week or two.

Don't why "they" would be putting up a smoke screen though.

Redick + Dudley = worse investment than Butler + ebled

Because Doc can totally predict injuries and a player playing well below what he did for his career, right?

Many people here really need to stop pining for the past and having huge regrets about certain trades/drafts, because it does no good for anyone. What's done is done, and there's absolutely no point in constantly thinking about "what if".

Lol Bledsoe has played less games than Redick and Butler is even worse than Dudley. At least Dudley scores somewhat efficiently.

Dudley is only better at earning less money. At least ebled is trying to come back

I'm now nervous about redick. He is our special sauce.

He smooths out the edges of the offense and is so important. I blame cousins

Whatever Dudley is flipped for during the offseason can be looked at as a part of the Bledsoe trade. Can't see Dudley being here next season.

@tense2, I just don't get it unless it's season ending surgery or definite season ending in some other way. Even if it looked bleak why not just let him ride the pine just in case. What if he is at 75% right now and slowly improving; but DC, or Jamal get hurt 2nd round. 85% of JJ can still be more dangerous than most players available to us through China or European leagues.

I also don't get why ramp up his shooting and drills (or whatever it is that he was doing); then turning around and saying we might shut him down for training camp. You never know what the future holds, so you have to take the shots you can get. Unless it's clearly over for him this season, but still don't get the indecision if that is the case.

Article by Steve Perrin The Redick saga -- there's a report today that the Clippers may "shut down" J.J. But what does that even mean? http://t.co/tuXg3rcCjB J.J. Redick hasn't played in five weeks and there are five....

Yeah, Dudley ended up being a mistake. But no one can predict injuries like this, and to throw JJ under the bus because of something completely outside of his control is wrong.

Also, can we all stop deifying Bledsoe? He's a great player, but some people on this board act like he's the second coming of Lebron.

Your saying Redick is not trying to come back? How absurd. Not like having Bledsoe and Butler is much better since Bledsoe is injury prone. Not to mention we wouldn't have Collison.

Does the decision to shut down Redick allow them to pick up another guard for the playoff roster. I mean, if they know he can't play this year, why not have another guard on the roster incase Crawford remains hurt or Collison or Paul go down. Seems like the Clippers are dangerously short in the guard spot. Willie Green played well last night which is a good sign though.

They can have an open roster spot if I'm not mistaken. They only have the option of picking someone up who hasn't played in the NBA this year. It really limits our options, maybe a Gilbert Arenas if he was in shape (which I doubt) or Baron (same as Gilbert). We can go with someone unproven, but in that case we could just start playing Reggie at the two (which I wouldn't mind since we could start giving him minutes right now).

Don't think they need or want to add anybody else now. Arenas or Davis are bad jokes, lol. Dudley can take a SG spot as he's played there quite a bit before. Reggie isn't ready and Doc won't use him much in they PO's unless a whole lot of injuries take place. IF that happens, we're doomed anyway. Next year for Reggie to get more important minutes.

Duds is already back though and he traveled with the team to Utah and could have played but Granger has taken his minutes. Jamal and JJ do not traveled with the team. I take it he means JJ and Jamal when he says "when they return"

If you're referring to the information in this topic, we're not sure right now. That he's shooting and participating with the team is a great sign, but we won't know for sure.

March 13 He might shut it down for the season. NO!!!!!!!

which means he's probably in too much pain just after practice.

This is awful news.

DAMN.

WHY????????

Unless the source is directly from the Clippers camp, I'm going to remain optimistic that JJ will be back by season's end and be able to play in the playoffs. To think otherwise is just depressing.

If I were a gambling man,and I am not because I suck at it,my bet would be no JJ. Don't know if we are good enough to win it all without our starting SG,but this team has won 10 and seems to be firing on all 8 so for now I guess it it works, don't fix it.

Wouldn't be surprised if we were completely healthy come Saturday after this long and much needed break. Chris Paul - Darren Collison JJ Reddick - Jamal Crawford Matt Barnes - Danny Granger Blake Griffin - Davis/Turkoglu Deandre Jordan - Hollins/Davis I....

Would be great timing two games to knock off rust and gel and then a nice long road trip to challenge the guys as a whole.

I wonder if this is the start of retirement for Reddick. I could be jumping the gun, but a bulging disc was the same injury that forced Larry Bird into retirement. Really hard to run the floor and break through screens to get open with a bad back.

I was watching last night's game against Denver on PrimeTicket instead of ESPN so I didn't hear Doc relay good news about JJ and Jamal participating in upcoming practices. It'll be so awesome to finally have a full and healthy squad at the next game.

I think we'll get Jamal back by the weekend. Redick I'm not so optimistic. I think they should just shut him down. Unless he comes back with 10 games left he won't have enough game speed for the playoffs, then what good is he anyway?

Don't write him off so quickly. He could make a real difference to ours chances.
