I don't like trade. I want our 3 to have a better outside shot than Shumpert. If all he does is try to drive, then there is no room for Blake and DJ. In the PlayOffs, the D can pack-it in the lane.

Trade machine is correct. 2014-3.6, 2015-3.7, 2016-3.9 (player option)

We shouldn't only be worried about the west. We are trying to win a championship right?

The east has lebron, George and Granger (he's not as good as he was but we might face them In the championship if we make it there)

We have no one to slow those guys down or make things difficult on them.

We are small at PG and SG. We need a big body to put on those guys.

Shumpert won't cut it

"Memphis wants to include forward Tayshaun Prince into the package and the deal could be expanded to include guard Tony Allen, league sources told Yahoo Sports. Components of a proposed deal are still fluid. yahoo sports"

wouldnt mind going after tony allen.

But again Shump and Felton have had atrocious seasons. I wouldn't mind parting anyone if they aren't Chris Paul, JJ Reddick, Blake Griffin, Deandre Jordan, Jamal Crawford, and Darren Collison. You have to give something....

I would do the Collison/Barnes for Shump/Felton trade. Then over the summer we can try to convince the Wizards to do a sign and trade to give us Ariza for Felton and Dudley.

We can't match up well against every single team. If we're small, teams like Memphis will give us trouble. If we're big and slow, teams like the Warriors will be trouble for us.

If we match up perfectly with the Heat/pacers, who cares if we can't get through the 2nd round in the West?

I have a very bad feeling that absolutely nothing is going to happen at the deadline.

If this roster's flaws aren't addressed at all, my enthusiasm for the season is pretty much dead... why get excited for a second round exit at best?

Thanks you... Someone who understands it.

Seems like near trade deadline everyone gets trade happy

and starts imagining crazy scenarios.

The knicks deal made no sense whatsoever. When Paul was

hurt collison stepped in and averaged like 15.9 ppg.

Shumpert is garbage for the most part. Outside of an occasional

athletic play he brings nothing to the team, but worse offense, and

possibly above average defense.

Like I said earlier team chemistry is critical down the stretch.

Maybe if we are talking about the beginning of the season, but

at this point with 20-30 games left we don't need any big moves.

We just need to get healthy.

With all due respect, are we watching the same team? Shocked

Everyone "getting healthy" isn't going to magically make Barnes, Dudley, Jamison, or Mullens suck any less. This roster has two gaping flaws and a dearth of two-way players and is literally screaming out for a trade.

As presently constructed, I don't see us getting out of the first round no matter who we play. There's simply too much dead weight and not enough players who can be relied upon come playoff time. Maybe you're content with another first round exit, but I for one am not okay with another wasted season.

What if we are involved in a 3 way with NY and denver where we give out Collision and Barnes or Duds and get back wilson and something?

Do you even know what Playoff Rotations mean?

Mullens doesn't hurt by sitting on the bench, nor does he help.

Playoff rotations are 8 player rotations 9 max. Unless you are

Vinny Del Retardo and you do 5 on 5 swaps.

First round exit? If that was the case we wouldn't be pushing for 3rd

in the west.

Our core unit is really good, and if JJ gets healthy we will be

extraordinarily good.

I'm not sure what you are basing your "First round exit" on,

but it definitely isn't on anything concrete such as statistics,

because we have beaten every team above us in the

standings on the west.

You really think anyone wants Jamison or Mullens? It is surprising to me that teams are considering taking Dudley or Barnes. You can't be screaming for a trade if you have nothing good to give.

Anybody else notice since Barnes threw team after bus following OKC that chemistry with him hasn't been the same? He signed his trade that day. I'm okay moving him instead of Dudley who's 5 years younger and a better locker room guy.

We could use a move but to say we aren't getting out of the first round is ridiculous. I feel sorry for whoever that first rd opponent is because I guarantee that our returnees of BG,CP,JC,DJ, and even Barnes will be ready to go in the playoffs after last years embarrassment. They are playing for the playoffs and nothing they do now can can atone for that embarrassment and they know this. We can get to the conference finals as presently constructed but do we have the frontcourt depth to outlast OKC in a 7 game series after 2 playoff series is another question.

But first rd .......I feel sorry for whoever that is.

I know that rotations are shortened, but still - what happens if DJ and/or Blake get into foul trouble or get injured? Do you really trust Hollins in the playoffs?

And even the shortened rotations will have to include Dudley and/or Barnes - no matter what, they are garbage.

On this date (February 19th) last season, we actually were third in the West - didn't stop us from losing in the first round.

I don't like how this team matches up against the Spurs, Warriors, or Grizzlies, and even OKC and Houston worry me.

A person closely involved in Knicks-Clippers trade talks still does not see deal happening in current form.

We need wing defense. Whimper provides that, plus he's young with upside. Feltons contract is bad, but he can be a good backup point guard. What the Clippers should do is make the Knicks include a big man not named Stoudemire and Bargs. We shouldn't trade DC if we don't get a backup PG in return.

If we had won yesterday would these people be singing the same tune? I thought the loss stung a little and pushed people to the extreme. We don't need to trade anybody. Sign a back up big man or trade barnes/dudley for one and that is it!

raymond felton is probably the worst defensive guard in the league. he's not worth using for more than 12 min a game, if that, and he's certainly not worth what he's being paid.

I don't think there's a single team in the West that isn't worried about OKC. Spurs will always be a well oiled machine, no match up strengths are likely to change that too much. Warriors are overrated, and the addition of Doc Rivers alone should help immensely against the Grizzlies.

Yes, because we've been calling for a third big and a small forward worthy of NBA minutes all season long, win or lose. A home win over the Spurs missing three of their starters wouldn't have changed that, but our obvious flaws getting exposed by them instead only serves to underscore the need for some moves to be made here.

Darren is for sure better than Shumpert, but with Redick and Crawford, are we really banking on a trade where we get a 6'5 guy who doesn't have super long arms to be our SF?

83% of Shumperts FG attempts are jumpshots. He's an average 3PT shooter and doesn't do anything else offensively, not a slasher, not a shot creator, not a playmaker. If we put him in a position where his defense is anything less than good (for example playing SF), then it's a bit iffy as to whether he'll be giving us overall positive production.

Agreed, Rome wasn't built in a day. When did we become fans who expected a perfect no hole championship roster just like that?

I already had the idea that it was a 2 year process at least to get the roster where it needs to be, and if everything worked out perfect this year would work, but expecting a one year everything falls in place situation isn't realistic. You can wish for it and desire it, but expecting it?

I don't expect a perfect roster in a day. I expect improvement from year to year and I'm only seeing stagnation. And sure, every team has holes, but ours are so obvious and exploitable that they need to be addressed.

I get it, Doc made some moves that he thought would be improvements, can't say I agree with all of them, but that was the thought and some didn't work.

The starting big men have improved, the outside shooting is more deadly with Redick. Bullock was/is supposed to help the perimeter defense and add to the shooting, but we don't know yet, he's still a rookie. Yes, the big men signings I didn't like and complained about all of them, so I can't excuse them, but I also can't say I know what was truly available. The resigning of Barnes I also didn't like, but a lot of people here seemed to do so, so it is what it is, and he has played worse than his normal. I didn't like it for financial reasons, not production reasons.

Dudley was in theory a good trade, but in hindsight hasn't been good, it happens, every team has those situations.

Let's just not expect panick moves to be made. This team has no reason to be in panick mode really. Sure, they aren't clearly, no doubt better than any top 3 west team, but there isn't a team in the West they can't compete with.

Dan Woike: I've been told Clippers-Knicks trade won't happen tonight, and there's a chance the deal doesn't get done at all, per a source Twitter @DanWoikeSports

Brad Turner: Clippers-NY deal for Darren Colliosn-Matt Barnes to NY for Iman Shumpert, Raymond Felton "deal is dead." per source. "Could revive" Thurs.
