I think we sign both, Ivan to a 10 day deal and Big Baby for the rest of the season.

Sounds like a great idea to me. I wouldn't mind doing a backup big men lineup of Ivan and Big Baby. I know they're both on the smaller side, but I would feel more comfortable using them than Hollins.

I think i like Ivan, He hustles and fights for everything which could be contagious. He isn't afraid of contact and he would be playing for a contract next year.

He played 43 games before the injury, and from the sources I've gathered, it's nothing all that serious. He held his own pretty well against Hibbert two years ago during the playoffs despite Hibbert being a good 5 inches taller than him. I still say it says quite a bit that Ivan had to go to China to get any sort of work.

I like Ivan just because if we do like him we can sign him next season for something like the mini mid level, don't think that would get big baby. Ivan had teams interested in him before but he went to China for a bigger paycheck and the ability to come back afterwards and sign midway through the season. In fact Us the Knicks and the hawks wanted him but could only give the min.

Can big baby convincingly play center? Hows his health? I know he was hurt earlier this season.

I think we have maybe 80% chance to get Ivans and G. Davis, hopefully Granger next week.

According to the article in today's LA Times, Broderick Turner stated that "Former Atlanta power forward Ivan Johnson recently worked out for the Clippefs but did not impress those in attendance, according to a league executive who spoke on condition of anonymity because the workout was private".

Wonder if it is really true, or if they are trying to downplay his workout to discourage other teams...

Personally I've never thought Doc liked Ivan. Ivan was a player that was very outspoken on KG being a dirty player that KG was all talk when he was in Atlanta.

It would be nice to give him a 10 day contract and see what he has. I would bet that Doc is waiting on big baby, and is only considering Ivan as a back up plan at this point. I mean why run at 12, when you could have signed him and had a practice. Then let him run with us against one of the more imposing front courts in the NBA to see what he could bring.

It seems to me that big baby and Ivan overlap. I think we should get one or the other, but not both. I would prefer big baby.

KMart might be an option soon as the Knicks are sliding. Kmart-Big Baby-Ivan (2 of 3) and Hedo would suffice the backup bigs positions. If We add Granger as well that would be icing on the cake.

KMart is in the same trash pile as Nick Young, they can never be with this roster again.

Martin probably still wants to start over DJ. I think we have better options than trying to bring him anyways.

I agree with ClipperDB, Davis and Jobnson are too similar, no need for both. Bringing one and then bringing some big body guy if we want a larger sized C makes sense. Both are redundant and both means minutes for someone isn't going to be acceptable anyways.

If one signs, the other won't want to anymore. Don't think either guys wants DNP-CD's.

Metta WP is being bought out... Definitely better options out there but I'm glad the pool is getting deeper.

Matt barnes is STILL talking about how his days are numbered in Los Angeles and that the writing is on the wall. This is really pissing me off.

He needs to stop with that and just play. If he plays the rest of the season with consistency they may not feel the need to get rid of him!
