I agree somewhat , but I think Granger cannot be the Granger from 3 years ago for 2 reasons.

  1. Injuries

  2. His team not will nit allow him to be Granger from 3 years ago because of Paul George and Lance Stephenson playing great. If it ain't broke don't fix it and the Pacers were going to put Granger in a position to carry the load like in the past

They aren't great but he is a proven player. His PER is higher too.

I have to agree. Signing him is more of a risk to me, health is obviously a major question, but so is production. I'd be fine bringing him off the bench, but not sure he's a starter/ crunch time player anymore.

We have to sign someone else within 4 days, to be eligible for the playoff roster. So another signing should be comin soon for Doc and the Clippers. Hopefully it's Danny

With the way Beasley's been playing they don't need him or Butler. Think it'll be between us and SA.

At this point, I'd take him just to get Dudley out of the rotation. I don't really know how much he can contribute though.

Any news about Granger being buy out by sixers yet?

^real GM reported that its happening.

In my biased opinion, Danny would be a fool not to come here. We have 3 needs at the moment, wing defense, rebounding from the back court, and shooting from the wings. No other team can offer him a starting spot in a role tailor made for him. He comes here and has a good season, going up against the likes of Bat um, Durant, James, George, and Leonard while playing a role made for him, he'll command a JJ Redick like payday. He comes off the bench to relieve Lebron while chasing a ring, unless he REALLYreturns to form, he'll be more in the Dudley range.

DG was an AS and leading scorer for pacers before PG broke out, he is a different caliber of player and probably does not belong in the same sentence as duds, i don't see him being anywhere as bad as duds even coming off his recent injury

All we need Granger to do is play SOLID D and DRIVE to the hoop decisively.

Maybe Lakers will buy out Chris Kaman. Granger and Kaman will fill out the roster nicely.

"The dislike for Granger apparently centers on the way Granger handled himself in the 2012 playoffs. Granger was very physical with LeBron James and nearly frustrated James to the point where the Pacers nearly won the series."

  • From Article Above

I like a player who actually gets physical with the league's best. Its really an old school trick. Get dirty and physical with them and throw them off their game. Doc likes a player like that I would assume. Id take from that article that means Granger actually played defense on those guys to the point where they were frustrated. I really like that. Hopefully bought out today , but I believe we would need to wait 24 to 48 hours after the buyout. According to Eric Pincus

Maybe Granger will commit verbally to the Clips as Big Baby did. I really like Granger

I remember that series and thought he did a good job. I've always felt that CP3's relationship with Heat players has hurt him a bit when playing them. If he were to play them the way he plays Vasquez we would do much better. If you get a guy like Granger to frustrate and give Lebron a hard time that is a bonus. It's not going to stop Lebron, but having him concerned with him is a start.

Danny is really stupid if he doesn't come play here. He lives in LA. Probable to start unlike Miami or OKC maybe Dallas. Former teammate in Darren Collison.

Who woulndt this guy on their team. Veteran with Playoff experience. I AM ALL FOR GRANGER

2 hours ago rumors had Heat as favorites Sad I'd think it would kind of be a cop out if he goes to heat. I've heard heat don't want him.. but we shall see.

Jake Fischer @JakeLFischer

Anticipating a buyout from the Sixers, Danny Granger's camp views San Antonio as the small forward's top choice to sign with, per source.

Not sure what to make of this rumor, to be honest. Agents often namedrop the Spurs in order to make their players look more desirable without actually signing there, so this could be another one of those instances.

We obviously see here what positions need an upgrade. Granger would be just that. He is a Vet with playoff experience. Our C production is mostly blamed on Mullens and Hollins I would say DJ is the reason its not lower than that.

INSIDER (PS: we are not mentioned):

Is Danny Granger fantasy-relevant anywhere other than Philly?

Last week, we wrote that Granger could put up Mike Dunleavy Jr.-like numbers if he remained in Philadelphia for the remainder of the season. However, the chances of him staying with the Sixers appear to be slim. Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer writes that the 30-year-old swingman's status could be resolved by Tuesday.

"Granger wants to play for an NBA championship contender, according to sources," Pompey wrote. "And there's a belief the Sixers will negotiate a buyout of what's left of his expiring contract (about $4 million) to accommodate the former all-star."

Any fantasy value Granger has will dwindle considerably if he's bought out, but it's still worth paying attention to where he signs.

"At this point, based on his production thus far this year, Granger probably can't expect a major minutes role coming his way," ESPN Insider Amin Elhassan said. "Still, his talents, particularly as they pertain to being a shooting threat, will keep him in demand from several teams."

Oklahoma City, San Antonio, Miami, Chicago and Dallas are among the teams rumored to have interest in Granger, but according to Elhassan, there are two teams that offer the best fit.

"The San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat are both organizations with a reputation for integrating buyout candidates late in-season, and both could use an extra shooter with size," he said. "Both teams also feature an open roster spot (Miami by virtue of the Roger Mason trade and San Antonio after the expiration of Shannon Brown's 10-day contract). While Miami would offer the opportunity to exact revenge against the team that dealt him, the Spurs probably have the bigger short term need for offensive firepower with the injuries to Kawhi Leonard and Tony Parker."

What Did I Say? Location and Playing Time are factors in his signings and both factors favoring the Clippers at the Moment. Also Contention will be a factor as well

^Yea I don't think he wants to join us.I think the Spurs is where he lands. With their system and Leonard being injured it makes sense. Also Earl Clark is finalizing a deal with the Knicks so our options at getting another SF are getting shorter.

That seems directed at us. Compared to spurs and Miami, we aren't as much of a sure thing. We are more than dallas, which was also mentioned.

FWIW, I have a reliable source who says Granger's agent said he would "love to come to the Clippers."

Nothing against Dallas or the Bulls but if Granger thinks they are contenders and we aren't he's crazy. The Heat don't want him and OKC doesn't have a need for him.He could back up Durant but don't think he would get many minutes. The teams that make the most sense for him imo are Clippers and Spurs. With Leonard out Granger would get minutes for sure and his skill set works well with what the Spurs do.With us he would have to beat out Dudley and Barnes for playing time but how Dudley has been playing that wouldn't be hard.

I thought caron wanted to finish his career in Wisconsin. Guess not. I'd even take him back he still is a great long range shooter.

I can't say, but the source has been pretty accurate with Clipper signings and trades.

That said, Spurs are probably still interested and who knows how much Granger is interested in them.
