If only... but Barnes is in the starting lineup and you got dud Dudley backing up, Granger should help with that though, gotta say REMARKABLE roster.

Baby is most likely going to be used as a backup C, so if you thinking of a full bench lineup, one of Dudley or Hedo is the PF

I'm going to have tempered expectations, but either way I really like the signing if it happens even just for the future prospects because even if he isn't fully healthy this year, he can be re-assessed and signed for more of an MLE contract in summer if his health looks good. That's a good bargain if he starts to produce at a higher level again (something like a 16-17 pts, 5 rebs, 2 assists SF who hits the three gives average defense and can exploit mismatches)

How is Granger's health as of late? Is he 100 percent?

We don't need anymore injuries

Certainly not 100% and probably not going to be 100% this season. I don't know what his health is percentage wise though

Let's beat the Rockets today to show him that we're a better suitor then the Rockets, and if we're better than them the Rockets beat the Spurs twice so we're better than them too, and the Spurs beat the Heat, and the Heat beat the Bulls... Found this on a Pacer's forum:

Granger's shooting

On 0 days rest (back to back games) he shot 6/26 (23.1%) from 3. 8 game sample size.

On 1 day rest he shot 17/41 (41.5%) from 3. 13 game sample size.

On 2 day rest he shot 4/16 (25%) from 3. 4 game sample size.

On 3 day rest he shot 3/7 (42.9%) from 3. 3 game sample size.

There are no back to backs in the playoffs so let's see how the last 3 add up. 17+4+3 = 24. 41 + 16 + 7 = 64.

24/64 equals 37.5%.

In other words, the numbers indicate that he would still be a valuable shooting option for a contending team in the playoffs.

After waivers should be available to sign with a team on Friday. Would be best he come in and get a full day practice and maybe play on sat.

I'm hoping he comes here. I've always liked his attitude while playing. He won't back down from anyone and brings a little of that blue collar theme to our team. If we get him, the addition of him and Davis adds some serious toughness to the team.

Good point Agent0, I like the idea of being able to get a discount on Granger during the offseason. If he doesn't fully heal our Clipper staff could have an inside look to see what the forecast is.

Granger averaged 8.3 points a game for the Pacers this season after returning from multiple knee surgeries. The former All-Star has looked rusty and older, with a true shooting percentage of just 49.1 and a PER of 10.4. He was never comfortable as the sixth man in Indiana and teams are betting that a change of scenery brings him back closer to his former self.

With the buyout Granger will be a free agent this summer (unless the Clippers offer multiple years, which is unlikely). Granger is not only playing for a title but his next payday now.

Somewhat related - has anyone noticed the haters' new tactic? They can't complain that "Blake only dunks" anymore, so now it's "the Clippers are signing too many players!!!" as if they've never heard of 10-day contracts and as if it's somehow a bad thing to work all the angles to improve the team.

Who wouldn't want this guy. He will be great for us. In this video he said he was finally healthy. Pacers didn't utilize him like they should. Clips need to go all for signing him

They reported Clippers and Spurs are front runners to land Granger.

It said Granger will talk to Popovich and Spurs GM. Man I hope he doesn't listen to them lol

We need this guy on our team.

We would honestly be able to beat anyone in the league with him. I know he propably won't ever average more than 20 ppg but he can still be a solid contributor and defender.

Hope he lands with us!!

That scares me then. What's the point if he will be subpar? Will he even then still be a better option than Dudley and Barnes in starting SF position?

I would love think he is almost 100 percent and he can come in and start for the clippers and just give us a consitent 10 - 12 points a game. Even though I know he can average more if he stays really healthy.

Weird how the jersey numbers of the 2 guys we traded at the deadline could be the the same ones filled with these buyout signings. Hope we can land Granger.

Is nobody here just the tiniest bit scared of bringing in a player who's auditioning for next year's contract?

Those guys always seem to try to do too much to showcase themselves and their abilities, and I'm worried it may even be worse with a former max-player.

I have faith in Doc - and the fact that we still have a good stretch of games before the playoffs begin to assess DG - but I have to say, I don't think it's the end of the world if he picks the Spurs or any of his other suitors. dontknow

He is an upgrade. I think he needs a change of scenery. Barnes is playing better but will be fine on the bench. I don't care if Dudley takes the court in a clippers uniform again. Granger is also 6'9 and strong. Much much better defender than Dudley., and barnes as well.

Remember when we played them? Danny did a decent job on blake after david wear injured

Hopefully we get Granger. If healthy he fits in nicely but with his injury struggles over the last two years I don't expect him to really contribute until the playoffs, and that's if we are lucky.Even if he stinks it up out there we still have a open roster spot to sign someone else so I like this move a lot.If he plays well then we would be in a great position going into the playoffs to do some serious damage.

I am getting pumped just thinking about CP3,Redick,Granger,Blake,and DJ playing together. That group on paper seems like it would gel together easily. Then having Collison,Crawford,Barnes,Hedo, and Big Baby coming off the bench would be amazing.Defensively they won't be great but offensively they would be able to provide a huge spark for us.That roster makes us a serious threat.Get it done Doc!

True, but him going to the Spurs make it tougher to beat them in the playoffs. If not us then hopefully a team out east (which is doubtful).

Not sure how he makes our bench stronger when they only get Matt Barnes back, but ok.

Lately Matt Barnes is way better than Duds & his style of play fits better in a 2nd unit that is more helter-skelter than a bunch of skilled, more traditional-playing starters.

Yahoo reported we have emerged as the frontrunners

The Los Angeles Clippers have emerged as the frontrunners to sign forward Danny Granger, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Once Granger clears waivers in the next 48 hours, the Clippers' ability to offer him significant playing time and championship contention under coach Doc Rivers makes them the most attractive destination, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Yeah, I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm more worried about him hurting us in a Clippers jersey than in a Spurs jersey. Still... if he goes all "I, Me, Mine" on us, Doc can always sit him... or tell him to f*ck off like Pop did with S-Jax last year.

I just like the chemistry our team has right now.

If by "I, Me, Mine" you mean he's going to shoot the ball when he touches it then I say, about damn time our SF shoots the ball when we give it to them. I'd take a selfish Granger over a passive Dudley any day.

Well Barnes certainly hasn't been too shy shooting from range recently, but Dudley definitely needs more confidence in his shot. Have to be hopeful that they all find their shooting strokes by playoff time.

As much as I like the possibility of grabbing Granger for cheap, is Butler signing with the Heat such a sure thing? I like the idea of having a solid two way player to insert from our bench and Butler's familiarity would be a warm welcome no?

Our chemistry is not from the sf position. Matt Barnes was red hot from 3 I would say that is more of an anomaly than chemistry

Look, the Dude lives in LA. Not only is he coming to LA to play with the Clippers, he is coming home. I will bet my prized T1000 ball that he will sign with us and then go home to sleep in the comfort of his own bed. It's going to happen.

No.. He's 6'9 and not quick enough to guard the smaller faster guards of the NBA.

What could bringing in Granger do to harm this team? He doesn't pan out, he sits and we back to where we are now. I don't see why people would have any problem bringing him in. He isn't the player he was, but I will take him, his experience, and grit.

I'd like to see Duds shoot the long ball a little more, Barnes a little less... but I get your point. I just want a SF who's more focused on winning than his own numbers.

Whatever chemistry we have or don't have, it's from whoever is on the floor. I'm talking about personalities and roles.

"Chemistry" is about how guys play together, not whether somebody's hot or not... at least the way I've always heard the word used.
