I think it's more so that vets from non playoff teams can sign with a contender. March 1 is the last day you can do that.

Yes, even a hobbled granger is better than barnes or Dudley. Yes. I say start granger and make bullock the primary backup.

Who the hell is Frank13? I hope he's right though. Granger would be a nice signing, but do we have the cap space to add him? What can we offer him? $1M for 1 year?

More like 1 mil for 1/2 a year. The season is half-way over

Forget Granger, we should pass on him and sign the wonder Russian kid, Yaroslav Korolev.

Zach Jones ‏@HxCNinja07 2h

@Ronnie2K Danny Granger isn't on the Sixers other than that great update

Ronnie 2K 2K14 ‏@Ronnie2K 2h

@HxCNinja07 That's because Danny Granger was immediately bought out

So he got bought out then?

Danny granger will improve with time - he has been coming off of a bad injury and in a somewhat unstable role with the emergence of Paul

George. He is a phenomenal person and teammate. He is bigger too than our current small forwards. We need size. Ideally we get granger,

Glen Davis, and earl Clark (a 6 foot 10 sf who can play the 4)

76ers may refuse to grant Granger a buyout. 76ers want to keep him for a S&T in the summer.

Yeah, after releasing Earl Clark I doubt that they are intending to buy him out.

Won't they need his cooperation? I they don't buy him out he has zero obligation to do a sign and trade

Yes but Sign and Trades are usually beneficial for the everyone involved. I think players could sign an extra year in some cases if they do a sign and trade, as well as other cases where a team might need to do it to free up cap space. In this case you might be right, because I don't think he will be getting anything near what he was getting.

Unless he lights the world on fire and starts winning games with Byron Mullens at Center, which would make me wonder if he is the greatest player to ever live. For the most part though if he shows that he is injury free and starts putting up good numbers as before his injuries I would expect him somewhere between 8-12 mil. If he lingers and still has injury concerns and doesn't play as well he might still get 6-8 on potential and previous achievements. I know this is just a lot of speculation on my part, but it is interesting for us since we might be looking at signing him if he does get bought out.

Granger might not want to come here - he is interested in Miami, okc and spurs

Sources: Danny Granger To Decide Between Heat, Clippers, Bulls, Mavs If Bought Out

The Philadelphia 76ers and Danny Granger have been in discussions on a contract buyout and sources tells RealGM that management has given their complete cooperation.

Granger was traded by the Indiana Pacers to the 76ers at the deadline for Evan Turner and Lavoy Allen.

Should Granger receive a buyout, sources tell RealGM that he will likely decide between the Miami Heat, Los Angeles Clippers, Chicago Bulls and Dallas Mavericks.

Granger will be an unrestricted free agent in the offseason.

1 out 4 chance...hmm. If he wants a good shot at a title and revenge against his old team, I'd say he picks Miami. We'll see.

He's said to be pissed at being traded - hard to blame him since he was the face of the Pacers for a long time. If he really wants to get back at them, the Heat is obviously the way to go. If he's playing for a decent-sized contract next year, Bulls or Mavs make more sense. I doubt he ends up a Clipper.

I know this prob doesn't mean anything. I went on hoopshype and if you look closely it seems like Danny granger is wearing a clippers jersey

Indiana traded the once face of the Franchise, now he was traded to the 76ers. They are rumors of him being waived

Could this be the clippers chance, to get him. CP3, JJ, Granger, Blake and DJ starting lineup

With the most underated player in the NBA, Jamal crawford coming off the bench. Seems like a championship team to me

Maybe it will be better if we can keep DC

What do you think, can you see Granger in a clippers uniform

Why or why not

Will it be good

Just the type of guy we need to play defense on Kevin Durant and eventually LeBron James. I think it's a long-shot that he signs with us though.

The reason Granger would sign with us is that Doc would tell him that he has a chance to start and start for a team that might win a championship. It's all about starting, playing time, and jewelry. Other teams can talk PT and jewelry, but no other team is going to tell him he might start.

Except realistically we are longer shots at a title than Miami and. San Antonio and he might care more about playing against Indiana.

Some of us are forgetting one thing, does Doc WANT HIM? Doc has had his Celtic's play against Danny for years, maybe there's something about him (hope I'm wrong) that bothers doc? On another note,....

People forget though that he is still paid his buyout amount and anything we pay him is taken from what Phily would owe him not added on top.

Think it favors Doc wanting him more than anything. Look at the roster majority of the guys brought on were his opponents on the Magic or had big games like Mullens against the Celtics.

True, if he he would rather a ring than starting Miami is a lot more attractive prospect.

Will he get a lot of playing time in Miami though? Perhaps playing time would be something he is looking for and Clippers can certainly give that to him.

If he doesn't choose us, I hope he chooses Miami and plays really well against the Pacers in the playoffs. lol

Danny Granger misses Sixers practice, expected to meet with head coach before buyout is discussed

If he isn't confident in what he can do then Miami is the place to go to chase a ring but if Granger still believes he can be a solid starter in this league then the clips make the most sense while giving him just as good of a chance to win. If Granger could give us a solid 14pts a game in between 24-30 minutes a game as our starting 3 then we transform into an elite team. Then you have Barnes moving to the bench to provide depth.

People might be expecting too much if they think Granger will get around 14 points a game (to go along with some assists and rebounds). His averages haven't been that good this year (although they've been skewed due to a lack of games played and recovery from injury). I hope he turns out okay if the Clips get him, but it's a bit of a gamble.

Finally someone talking sense. Danny Granger is not the Danny Granger

from 3 years ago. He has been injured every year, including this year.

Hasn't showed he can play at a starter level at all this season (maybe due to

team) but regardless he hasn't show anything yet.

Injuries can really decrease a players effective, See Jared Dudley. Last year

he had a decent season.

So to come in and expect granger to be a 25-30mpg starter off

the bat is obsurd.

He doesn't even know if he is healthy enough to play those type

of minutes. No one does.

I'm comfortable with him coming off the bench giving us a solid 11ppg

some good looks at 3, and getting to the foul line.

Anything more is a bonus.

Has Dudley or barnes shown that they can play at a starter level? Nope. I would play almost any other 3 at that spot before those two. I am not counting last game as a sign from barnes. I'm expecting terrible play from him until he is consistent. Dudley isn't even using the injury excuse anymore.

I'm thinking (and hoping) that if he ends up with the Clippers, he would play with renewed vigor and fire just to show the Pacers they were soooooo wrong in trading him.

He does the little things. He can rebound. He can pass. He is a smart player and a veteran. Ultimately he will be better than Dudley. 2012 Granger? 2014 Granger? Difference? Granger in 2012 and earlier was the....
