I think once granger gets into our sets and is given a good amount of playing time he will be much more impactful than davis just by sheer minutes played. Once paul george broke out and granger was injured, he had such a diminished role it seemed like it was hard for him to gel again. I think this will be a great fit for him.

I still can't believe we signed danny granger and glen Davis. So cool

Yes i think the sign of the clippers might win that ring is when everyone is hating the team.. George Karll just said clippers wasn't smart for grabing danny G. He said we should have just waited for reddick to get healthy.. Doesn't make sense at all clearly just hating the Clippers for getting more loaded

Redick and granger don't play the same position why do people keep bringing up redick?

And how many times did Karl get bumped in the 1st round. Nice one there Karl.

Yup that is what i said.. Doesn't make sense and even if redick is healthy we still need that a long SF that can guard Durant, PG, Lebron.. How can mullens jamison for granger and davis a bad pick up. It just annoys me when people want to hate when they don't even make sense.. They just do it to hate.

Does any one realize how big Granger is? This guy is Stephen Jackson big just less fat lol. He is muscular. A guy like this will force guys like LeBron and Durant to take jumpshots....

George Karl is one of those coaches that was fortunate enough to have had good players on his teams. Even we just signed Danny to keep him from going to other contending is a good move on our part. With that said, I do think that Danny will shoot the long ball with more confidence and less pressure with cp getting open looks. Think about what this does to our 2nd unit especially when Jamal goes back and reddick is back starting.

Presently, how is Granger's athleticism and defense? That's what I'm hoping he provides for us the most. Anybody get a chance to follow him on the Pacers this year?

^^^I haven't but I have seen some "highlights" (take that with a grain of salt), after his injury and he still looks good. He says he's healthy so I'll roll with it.

Doc will push Granger.. and Granger will show us he can still play at a high level. And to think I didn't want to trade Eric Gordon for him way back when lol.

Karl needs to just shut up. He says so much dumb **** all the time like "Harden is the 2nd best offensive player". Sorry there are guys named Lebron, CP3 and Melo who are easily better. Don't put him over Curry either.

I really love everyone optimistic outlook, but the Clippers side of me tell me don't expect too much from them or else you disappointed. Let just see what does Granger and Davis got in the game.

Wow, you weren't lying. I just browsed their forum. There's a lot of animosity and hate on that board. They don't even like the other Spurs fans on that POS forum. At least on here, for the most part, people focus on the Clippers. We don't go on rants and just sh#t on other teams for no reason.

Like I said before, I love the signing, but I'm cautionary about acting like we just won the jackpot. How well he can produce this season on either end is still a question mark. We don't know for sure. I'm watching film to get a gauge on how he's been playing. Here are all of Granger's 3PTA this season: http://on.nba.com/1mLAVqw A decent amount of open misses, inconsistent, doing things like missing to the side of the back-board, so of course his shot isn't back as the percentages say, and the in game action further plays out. Still, it seems like spot up shooting....

Agent0 ...... you bring up some good points but i think doc's system is a perfect fit for a player like danny. On his last team it was "drive to the basket and kick to George" type of offense haha plus playing with the best point guard in the league will help too. Cp3 is great at getting guys the shots that they want.

Agent there is only 1 real way to look at this.... Will Granger be better than Jamison? If so we are a better team. Will Davis be better than Mullens? If so we are a better team.

I agree did you ever watch the Pacers play? All it is is drive and kick to Lance-George-Hill or pick&roll or post up for West or Hibbert. Pacers didn't treat Danny well at the end.....

Even with all that said, the FO and coach of the Pacers ( who are all pretty good at evaluating talent) thought other wise. We'll see who's right soon enough. Here's hoping we are.

That isn't something I have any disagreement or dispute with, that's why I said I like the signing, actually love it. We got him for nothing, if he sucks in the end, we still got him for nothing.

That post was about giving people a bit more than just highlights or his basic statistics in terms of what Granger has been doing this season, so we can get an idea of where he's starting from as of now.

There's really a lot of "who knows"

Who knows how his shooting will look

Who knows how his defense will look

Who knows if he'll get back some of his finishing ability of the dribble

There's a range from "at least he isn't killing us" to "fairly good" that he could possibly fall in and little concrete stuff to really tell us where he falls. So I'm in terms of what will he bring, what role will he have, how good will he be, just very hard to really say, but we shouldn't lay too much expectation on him right now since we don't know where he truly is in terms of health, rhythm, everything. His history doesn't do much to predict his future because the longer history is pre-injury and the last 2 years is after a lot of injury issues, neither tell us who this current guy is/could be.

Better than Jamison? Maybe. More useful to this team? Definitely! Which PF are you gonna sit to play Jamison?

Granger has the potential to move all the way up to the starting SF spot.

Reporter: Danny, you was all ready to play against the pelicans, why didn't you write your name on the list? Danny: What the hell are talking about? That's not my job! Reporter: Oh right. Sorry but didn't you tell them too? Danny: Are you smart or just fu#% $^* with me? Reporter: We all wanted a glimpse of you out there. Next time pay attention! Danny: I'm a slap the hell out of you dude. I can't believe damn reporters like you have a fuc#!&; job! Stupid @$$ hol3

His name WAS on the list, apparently those who play have to CIRCLED on that list, someone gave the list to DOC and he gave it to the ref, Doc admitted it was his fault Danny didn't play, cause he was supposed to check the list and make sure all names are circled, no harm no foul, but Danny's name Was on the list.

In a hard fought overtime loss to the Spurs, Granger missed a potential game-winning jumper at the buzzer on 2k14.

There's almost no chance Granger becomes "that guy" again, especially this year. He's already 30, so he's on the downhill slope of his prime, and he's coming off an injury. Combine those two, and that's a recipe for a serious decline in playing ability.

If you want a "3rd superstar" sort of SF, you're going to have to wait until the offseason, where the Clippers may have a shot at getting Luol Deng. Granger should be somewhat serviceable though.

Not True... Look at Matt Barnes and Look at Jamal Crawford , who is arguably playing the best basketball of his entire career. I think he does return back to form. Not All-Star Granger ,....

I think Vogel is a great coach, but he is a great defensive coach. Where Doc I think is a much more well rounded coach. With that said I think Granger can fit in very well to Doc and Gentry's offensive system. I also think that the switch from Vogel's defense to Doc's should be pretty fluid.

Yeah I was gonna say, I've seen some of his footage from the past month. Not bad, really. Plus I said "I HOPE he can return to FULL health." If he was to be 100%, 30 is not that old in the basketball SF world.

He probably won't be that same guy, but I'm just hoping we have a starter, and at least better than the SFs we have.

Looking forward to his first game. I doubt he may plays much because this will be such a tight game against the Suns if we bring our A game.

barnes and Crawford haven't had the injuries Granger has had this late in his career. A coach can't physically help a player so this has nothing to do with Doc...he ain't god. It's a wait and see situation with Granger but the odds are against him.

Edit:

The odds are against him being the same player he was before the injuries or having his best season.

Agree. If you think about it we're almost in the same situation as last year which is we have a lot of uncertainties in the 2-3 spots

True but we don't need him to be a star just a solid 3 and D type of playing and better than Barnes/Dudley. I think he has a pretty good chance of being a capable starter at least.

Danny Granger is more of a 3, but with Crawford and Redick out he will likely have to play the 2 until either one can come back. Barnes and Dudley can fill in at the 3 until that happens

I think the "serviceable" classification may be the most logical thing to expect. I also have my doubts that he can return to that "all star" form again, but as long as he can be another serviceable option at the 3 to platoon along with Barnes we can maximize his time here. The goal is to have another option at the 3 since Dudley has not worked out.

I wouldn't mind Danny AND Barnes on the floor at the SAME TIME! That could be fun to watch, yes?

I watched all his shot attemps on nba.com today. Well I think he should shoot his three pointers as a spot up shooter with some good assist. February was a better month , so hopefully he can

give us simular three points stats like Dudley but better defence. He can block shots and defend the rim, especally together with Big Baby could be fun to watch.

His missing shots had a lot to do with pressure. He took a lot of Crawford shots. He had some bad attemps at the rim. Its very important to give him some surprising moments, so he isn't in the focus as the main scorer. Together with Crawford it could be very interesting Smile

Like Rivers said he has some post up moves we never had at the 3, but he will need a strong body next to him at the rim with Davis or Jordan to get confidence.

Now you're getting it, LOL. Until we can a least make it out of the 2nd round that respect will be hard to come by. Hopefully it's this year we can earn that respect.
