Baby is one of those guys that also frustrates you as much as he makes you happy, but definitely good to have another bug that is more than your 11th or 12th man. This should help a lot.

I know. I meant that I can't wait for Davis to start playing for the Clips and for him to come off the bench rather than Hollons. Haha.

Yes yes yes!! Big Baby is way better pickup than Zeller and we kept Bullock. I am glad this worked out, maybe Doc does have a plan Wink

Now just bring in Earl Clark and or Granger and we won't have to play Dudley anymore!

Some fans need to understand that waiting a bit is a necessary thing. A lot of the supposed/rumored trades are the best ones you don't make.

Doc has patience and knew there would be some good/decent players available come buy out season. More to come.

Obviously this is a debatable statement, but I think that Big Baby will be the best backup big we have had since Paul arrived.

Doc anticipate this that is why he unload two unused player to be able to get a decent but cheaper player.

So far it's been a one man race with Reggie Evans. Big Baby will be HUGE for us.

Can he play defense?

He plays defense below the rim like Chuck Hayes and Perkins. He's not going to flying through the air to block shots like Dwight or Ibaka.

He's a solid NBA defender. He can get the job done for us coming off the bench.

Compared to what we had, he's an All Star defender, LOL.

If it wasn't posted,if so delete, from ESPN: OKLAHOMA CITY -- Glen Davis will sign with the Los Angeles Clippers when he clears waivers and becomes a free agent at 5 p.m. ET, sources told ESPN. Davis, 28, reached a buyout with the Orlando Magic on Friday and was waived. The Brooklyn Nets had also shown interest in Davis, but sources tell ESPN that they have decided to sign Jason Collins, feeling that they are out of the running on Davis. Davis, averaging 12.1 points and 6.3 rebounds in 45 games this season, was making $6 million this season and was due to make....

He is actually usually inconsistent with his shot, but his shot has been great this season. He's shooting 44.2% from 16-23 so we picked him up at just the right time because in other seasons he's usually 37% or below.

I wouldn't say that Reggie was a better backup big man than either Martin or Odom

Gotcha, 37 isn't too poor either. His value for us is more at his defense and rebounding anyways so his offense now will simply be a plus Very Happy

Odom was our best defender last year, but shot it way too much and couldn't do much else. Martin was good on defense and mediocre on offense. Reggie was terrible on offense but he made up for it with his energy and rebounding.

I remember so many games where we weren't clicking on offense, but Reggie would get a crucial offensive rebound. He even had 2 game saving rebounds.

He was the definition of a spark plug off the bench.

Man stoked with the big baby signing. I don't have to watch Hollins wandering the court anymore. I can see in some situations Blake at the 3 and big baby at the 4 as a big line-up and blake at the 4 and big baby at the 5 going small. 3 man big man rotation. Hedo and Hollins can watch from now on. SUCH AN UPGRADE!

Now if 76ers would just cooperate and buyout Granger...sign him. We would essentially have traded Jamison and Mullins for Big Baby and Granger plus an improved 2nd. Greatest non trade in history of the franchise!

Visions of 1st unit-

sg- reddick

sf- granger

pf- griffin

c- dj

2nd unit-

pg- collison

sg- crawford

sf- barnes

pf- big baby

c- dj/blake

9 man rotation

Dudley, Hedo, Hollins, Green and Bullock cheering.

Mad props for Crawford down the stretch today...he outdueled Durant lots of fist pumps from me!

after looking at that video i am not to sure on Davis, he looks like he likes to chuck shots up, on several of the plays he had wide open shooter begging for the ball. Will he be able to rewire his brain to being a role player?

After looking at this I can see why Glen chose us instead of Kevin Garnett and the Brooklyn Nets.

Somewhere Ryan Hollins is saying "thank god I don't have to embarrass myself and this team anymore......this bench is so comfy tee hee!"

He's been a role player before, so he should be able to. Keep in mind, he was basically "the man" on a rebuilding Orlando team, and the only veteran besides Afflalo. With Doc's coaching, I think he'll be fine.

Garnet is a jackass. He taunted I think it was Villanueva as being a "Cancer survivor" It's disgusting to say "Bi*ch you had cancer" just to win a game and not understand the difference between a game and life. He should have gotten decked. "Your wife tastes like honey" Melo should have decked him and been given a Foul shot because KG committed a technical. If I were Big Baby there's no way I would want to play for that dirt bag if KG did indeed insult him and I had a chance to play with a team not having "Low T" and Doc and LAC, it's a no brainer. (run on sentence).

Didn't want to start a whole new thread, but big-ups to the Nets and Jason Collins.

Crap player, but at least he "breaks the seal". let's have the nonsense out of the way.

Pfff! ...like nobody gay ever played pro sports. Wish it would have been a superstar, just to f*ck with middle-America's preconceptions, but at least it should be the first step in squashing stupid stereotypes.

Another loss for bigots... and that's always good.

Sounds a little bit like reverse discrimination there

I have no idea what you're talking about, but OK.

The point is that there have been gay athletes as long as there have been athletes. If LeBron, Durant or CP3 (or ALL of them) had come out as being gay, public perception would change pretty f*cking fast. That's all I was trying to say.

But baby steps are better than no steps.

Even if he wasn''t gay a team would sign him to a 10 day contract. He has a high basketball IQ, veteran and above average defender. The fourth big on a three man rotation.

So how is that reverse discrimination?

Looking at the video, you can tell Glen is going to fit well- really well with this team. He's gonna get a lot of those open jumpers, and I like how he can drive and make a layup over a big, plus he looked pretty nifty with the passing inside as well.

I heard one report that Baby will join the team today in New Orleans. The report didn't say if he will play or not. I think that if a uniform gets there he will suit up. How much coach plays him is another matter. But Doc says that Baby already knows his system, so adding him in the mix will be a seamless transition. More moves to come. Another wing shooter will be added in case JJ never recovers. Sasha could be back or Granger if he is waived and willing sign with the Clips.

Jason Collins is terrible. He may be intelligent but that shouldn't mean you play basketball in the NBA. He is seriously a negative value big, just referring to his actual play.

I'm from LA, born and raised, and moved to Missouri a year ago for nursing school. I can say that I have seen nothing but support for the gay community. Of course there are those religious whack jobs that who hold signs and what not, but it's not the entire mid-west I can assure you.

Look at the support Michael Same received from Mizzou and others. Times are changing man.

It's kind of confusing. I guess we should have started a Gay player thread. This one was suppose to be about a big signing of a new player. Anyway, Doc is the perfect coach for Baby. They have already been through all of the work it took to help turn him into a good player and coach knows how to get the best out of him and minimize his shortcomings. Doc also knows how to get make guys feel good about themselves. Almost turned DJ into an all star. He will make Baby feel good about his back up role and let him know how important he is to the team.

A Glen Davis thread discussing Jason Collins being gay. You should join the Nets thread and make one for Collins.

Should have started a new thread, it is a big topic. But yes I 100% agree and applaud the Nets and Collins. Tom Daly a very popular well known British olympic diving star recently came out. But the the only big name player in British soccer came out years ago and later committed suicide. So the seal is yet to be broken there.
