Just heard over the air waves that Sacramento is working out a deal to buy out Jimmer Fredette's contract.

1st thing I think of with him is a microcosm of J.J. Reddick. With J.J.'s injury, I'd think he'd be a great back up to him, as well as a good addition to the team.

We're in need of a player of his (Reddick's) type to just be a spot up shooter off the screen.

Hasn't he been kind of a dud since coming to the NBA?

I agree somewhat. He's been buried on the bench, but I think he could make a fmidable impact with a change of scenery and with soemthing to play for.

Repped High Quality Post

We don't need to go after everybody that gets bought out, LOL. No.

True, not saying we have to, but with the absence of Reddick, off the court, we haven't been as effective as we could be on the offensive end.

I'm just saying that this kid has the makeup and potential to be similar to Reddick.

It doesn't have to be him, I wouldn't mind having Steve Novak, but Jimmer comes cheap.

When I have seen him play for the Kings (which is very little) he was playing point. Does he usually play SG?

Also it wouldn't really make sense to have Jimmer and Willie on the team.

Jimmie isn't a true point guard and too short and weak to play the 2. I could see him succeeding in Mik D Antoni system but not in,ours

He'd be best on a team with a bigger PG like Minnesota or Phoenix or with primary ball handlers at other positions like Miami. Even if he stinks at a lot of other things hard to believe a guy making 49% of his threes is getting released.

This kid will be good if he goes to the right place. We aren't the right place. He should go to SA or CHI.

If he's not a SF we don't need him.

I'd pass on him don't see the need for another small guard. I'd prefer a 3 and D type, think he is missing the D part.

When would he come in even as a spot up? The ball rotation with the 2nd unit is not really there. Plus when JJ comes back, Crawford will probably play hero ball with Collison... hopefully Big Baby changes that a bit though.

IF JJ does come back healthy, we definitely don't need another SG/PG.

I wouldn't mind signing him though. Crawford is a better player coming in from the bench, he even said he prefers playing as 6th man. We have no idea how JJ's doing, so why not take him as insurance? His shooting is just as good as Reddick's. We have 2 roster spots available, so getting Granger is still possible.

Might as well sign Steve Kerr. Kerr would probably be more productive.

I would bet my house that he won't get better. For all those who still have hope, y'all must be Mormons.

^ What are you expecting from him? Create plays? Dunk on opponents?

His only job is to catch / shoot, which he is very good at.

I don't think you understand what I'm saying.

So if JJ's not healthy, you want this kid to start over Crawford? If he's not gonna start over Crawford, he'll be playing with the 2nd unit who lacks ball rotation for spot ups to work. lose lose situation...that's what I was saying.

Those type of guys are a dime a dozen. You can get some guys in Europe that can probably do the same. Shooting 3's can only get you so far.

The Kings Lack players from range and he still couldn't get playing time. A lot of people in the thread are saying he would be better elsewhere, but I doubt it myself. That's where the other post was coming from.

Plus why would you go after Jimmer when you can get Ben Gordon?

Seems like most of you have no Clue who Jimmy is, which

I'm not surprised because he doesn't Play.

But Jimmy is having the same problems JJ had early in his career.

Jimmy a lights out shooter in college, just as JJ was, needs a system

that utilizes his skillset.

Many of you do realize JJ was rotting on Orlando's bench, just

as Jimmy was in SAC. But look at JJ now.

If JJ was out I wouldn't mind Jimmy coming in. He is a lights out shooter

and can fill JJ's role. Only difference is Jimmy would need to come

off the bench as oppose to JJ.

But at this point JJ hasn't played basically the entire season

are we really depending on him PO time? At least without

some insurance.

Willie ain't cutting it at the backup 2. This is sad reality

we may need to address.

JJ might not be back.

Bullock has been our backup 2 lately not but Green, although he's not done much either. I wouldn't mind cutting Green and adding Delonte West after his Chinese season is over.

That's what it feels like here, huh? Everyone that is released is a good fit according to someone here.

If he's another version of JJ like some of you guys claim, why would we need him? We have JJ... and even if JJ can't play, Jamal would start and this kid would play with 2nd unit instead. A spot up shooter doesn't work with the 2nd unit... I don't see how.

I don't think Jimmer would help this team much. If he couldn't get off the bench for the Kings, who have been awful for years, it must mean that he didn't show enough to the coaches for them to have a reason to give him any minutes.

I would prefer to give Bullock minutes at SG over giving them to Jimmer. And when it comes to the point guard position, we already have Collison as a great backup to CP3 and JCrossover has proven he can be a decent PG when needed. I'd pass on Jimmer.

Agreed. I just don't see how a shooting guard, who has a 6'2 point guard body, has a shoot first mentality, and hasn't proven anything in the NBA is going to contribute to the Clippers.

That does sound really bad, but I would start him over Crawford. In no way is he a better player than Crawford, but he can fit into JJ's role better. Plus, our 2nd unit needs Crawford's play-making ability much more than our starters do. Not saying playing Jimmy 30 minutes a night, just start him 6-7 minutes in 1st and 3rd quarter.

No offense, but if we're gonna use one of the last couple roster spots for a 6 to 7 minute starter, when we don't even have a starter for the SF position, no thanks. We need 1 spot to help at SF and the last one for a Center with length (upgrade over Hollins. Ryan Hollins can't be the only one coming off the bench.

A guy got cut from a mediocre team. He must suck. Milena was the starting center for the Bobcats.

Let someone else grab him if they want. We've got a few open roster spots and already had a great signing with Big Baby Davis. If Danny Granger gets bought out, injuries and all I say we make a push for him.

This guy has a serious question mark over his head as to if he'll actually end up having a NBA career, why would we want a piece of that?

Sign him then pick up Novak in the off season. Then Brian Cook at center.
