Great read for the longer tenured fans, even before my time such as Ron and Joe. I've only been a fan since 98 so can relate to some but not the Manning injury etc, so OG fans on this forum enjoy! For the new fans it's a good perspective on loyalty and what goes into investing in a team.

Good article - most of the media is invested in the clippers being a laughingstock - it is hard for them to let go

Been a looong time coming since I've been following them from 1983. It may have taken a while, but when and IF they finally win the big one, it'll make it so much more satisfying. Been though this with the Angels.

I'm a clippers/angels fan too because my father is. Simple as that. My memories are tied up in going to these games. But yes, we have been spoiled the last few years. I just want to see progress with this core. Very disappointing to take a step back last year. Not just that we lost but the way we lost. Getting our butts kicked four times in a row (losing my double digits)

After being up 2-0. Still makes me mad,

It's like the grizzlies decided they weren't going to take it.

We need to mentally be that way.

Great article, I've put up with a lot during my 15 year's of rooting for the Clippers. But no matter what I stuck with them through thick and thin. And when they finally do win a championship, it will be so sweet to know that I've been through the pain and suffering, so it'll be that much satisfying.

I've been a fan since 2001. I never really watched allot of Basketball as a kid because I was too busy playing it, I would mainly watch to just study the top PG of the game. But in 2001 i started to watch just as a fan and so for 2 weird reason's I gravitated toward the Clippers. But mainly I like to route for the underdogs. It's been Fun as heck so far.

I liked reading the comments AFTER the article more than the article itself, lol! I've been a clipper fan since 1987, when I first bought season tickets, and continued to do so through 2001, until....

I'm only 21 but I've been a die hard fan since 1999 I was young but always loved basketball and my team I didn't exactly know the players or anything I was really young. But I knew that the clippers were my team ha ha ha over the years I've been made fun of a lot a lot for being a clippers fan and I've always stood up for them and our players. I've been with them since I could remember and it pisses me off to see all these bandwagon fans who prob don't even remember Kerry Kittles or know who he is.

I joined the party when LO, Q, and Miles were ballin''. It's been a tough decade. Its an awesome feeling when you can consider the Clippers a powerhouse without turning the Xbox on.

I've been a fan since 1991. We're heading in the right direction but we still have a lot of work to do.

Great article, I have been a Clippers fan since 1997 and it has had it's ups and downs with a lot more downs than ups so I can relate to how it doesn't seem real that the clippers have a team contending for a title!

Most real clipper fans don't know him. He played like 5 games total for us

I remember being stoked for Kerry Kittles. I won't forget Kittles was the recipient of Chris Conan's top play of his life. Caron Butler remembers.

We made the playoffs in my 2nd year (05-06), so I feel like a bit of a cheat.

But then again, Shaun was my favorite player and I was just waiting for him to take the league by storm. When he went down, my girlfriend (now wife) and I mourned like we'd lost a loved one.

Its just annoy me that despite our success as of current. We keep hearing about Lakers dismay. I'm tired of hearing the same story over and over again. Oh yeah, Mason is a douche.

Been following the Clippers since '93, but didn't become a fan until '95. Brent Barry was what got me into them. His rookie year was unbelievable, the things he was doing on the court was a sight to behold.

every clipper fan needs to know the following names:

Ken Norman

Harold Ellis

Bo Outlaw

Hustling on every possession, diving for every lose ball, battling for every rebound, they're the embodiment of blue-collar Clipper ball.

One of the things that pulled me over were Jaamal Wilkes and Norm Nixon. I just started getting into the NBA 1980,started late in life. I thought basketball was a stupid sport and in the early 70s I worked at the Sports Arena when the Lakers played there ( yes,the 72 Lakers) and never watched one game. I just thought it was dumb. But I was amazed on how tall those guys were! But in the mid-80s the Clippers stole our guards and I was appalled. How could they take Silk and Norm from us? ....

I loved having someone on the team named Bo. My favorite Bo had left my NFL team and to have another BO to root for was choice. I think Ken would fit well on this squad.

One main reason I love reading yall's post since 2007 is no matter what the nostalgic memories never go away here!!! lol had a great time last night with my Girlfriend(Laker Fan) & 2 yr old son @ the game, best moment was when he would point out Blake on the court he says "Blake" now, When those confused fans would BOO D12 he tought they were screaming "MOOOOOO" like a cow lol, He sat the entire 1st half on my lap & clapped 4 defense, yelled "Shoot shoot shoot" & "Babichu" that is his way of saying Basketball, wearing his lil Blake jersey & Clipps Hat, that was one the greatest feelings in the world, I love this team hate these new fans who we see at games now, who don't even know basketball but can't wait until the playoffs!!!

No matter how bad they get, it will always be a Laker town first. Too much history to fight.

They've only been in L.A. For 54 years. The NBA will be around as long as there are humans willing to play it. 54 years is minuscule compared to century's that this game has left to give.

This WILL NOT always be a Laker town.

Wow this thread turned out amazing. I loved reading all of your stories and even saw some guys I haven't seen post for a long time! I hope you longer tenured fans come more often, because I can definitely speak for this forum when I say we all miss you. We NEED longer tenured fans to give us newer fans perspective at times (myself included).

I have been a Clipper fan since 1988. When I was 12 yrs old and the Clippers selected. Danny Manning and later traded for a young healthy Ron Harper.

Ken Norman, Gary Grant, Charles Smith, Benoit Benjamin, Bo Kimble, Olden Polynice, Michael Cage and Later with Sam Cassel.

Are Some of my favorite Clippers of all time.

I was at the game when Shaun blew up he knee and I happened to be sitting down low in upgraded seats and was staring right at him when he knee buckled the wrong way. Number 3 on my list of seeing something right when it happened. It was nasty.

I don't have to. Doc, Chris and Blake already did.

All of those guys bet their careers on making the L.A. Clippers THE team in L.A.

I'm actually quite content with Doc, Chris and Blake being in the same boat as I. There might still be room on the boat if you want to jump ship later on.

Ok, you win if you think it's going to be that easy. Nice arguement though. Razz
