This is just a question that might be a little early to ask, but where would you rank baron davis in the league today at the point. Considering only his individual skills??? I'll post mine later. Just wanted to know where you guys put him. Here is another, Where would you rank Baron/Brand duo vs. all the pg/pf duo's in the league. I think that one really should make you think how good or bad our team could be( I said bad for the cup half full guy). But anyways I just thought it would be something interesting to talk and compare our skills with other elite teams. What do you guys think??

Guys, in the last 2 years the top guys in points and assists are as follows:

    1. Baron Davis (20 + / 8 )
    2. CP3
    3. Nash

    * heard on ESPN last night

** forgot what the numbers for the other guys were.

The reason I have Baron a little lower (top 5 is awesome no matter what) is just cus of injuries and the other guys have been great team leaders to get their teams deep in the playoffs, hoopefully, this is the year Baron does said things!

On any given night, Baron is a top 5 PG. Put him where ever you want on the list, but he is unquestionably elite.

Before we got him I would say he is right around the top 5, but since he is a soon to be Clipper...he is the number point guard in the league hands down!

Hoping he resigns...we also have the number one power foward in the league!

    1. Chris Paul (No Duh)
    2. Deron Williams
    3. Baron Davis
    4. Gilbert Arenas (talent-wise better than Baron Davis in my opinion)
    5. Steve Nash

Interesting. If you look at the numbers, especially assist to turnovers, and field goal percentages... CP3 is best all-round, Nash is the best shooter, and his and DWilliams numbers look pretty close to being tied for second overall in best PG consideration. Arenas and Baron are the top scorers, but have the lowest shooting percentages, I guess that makes some sense. They also don't get as many assists as Nash, Paul or Williams and since we're talking about point guard I think that's kind of important. Parker's numbers are more like BD's with fewer points. Kidd's numbers of course are steadily falling, but he still rebounds like someone 4 inches taller and is a marvelous assist guy. Baron isn't the best in any particular category, but he does get his club running, and he shouldn't have to score as much with the Clippers, (and a healthy Clipper lineup) so maybe his performance in some key areas will actually improve. Right now though I'd have him fourth on the list behind CP, SN and DW.

One thing is for sure: a healthy Baron is infinitley better than Knight/Dickau/Smush/Andre freaking Barrret.

A healthy Baron? Even an injured Baron is better than those guys. If you asked me if I'd rather have Baron Davis with a sprained knee or Smush Parker, I'd immediately ask the trainer to get the pain killer shot ready.

Well, I posted this topic guess it's my turn. You know what I always rated baron #5 when the topic came up in the past. Why??? The reason being is because he was not major market basket ball.....I have seen cp3, dwill, nash, and every other start pg in the league play at least as twice as much as baron. I look at his 3point shots attempted and they are in the 400's. WOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWW!!! He only hit 33% but out of 400+ that is amazing!!! CRIS PAUL IS THE BEST POINT GAURD IN THE LEAGUES HANDS DOWN....1on1 I think baron takes him out like a shmuckkkk...but nba basketball consist of 5 players per team...sorry baron. CP3 has nash type vision with twice the quickness...and 2/3 of the shot. Well, here is my line up..top 5

    1. cp3
    2. nash
    3. baron
    4 Dwilliams
    5. C. Billups

I believe I'm the only one that included cb in the line up but the guy plays solid d, hits big shot(Mr. Big Shot) , can score, big size, and good court vision. But the point is baron is top 3 in the league in my opinion. THE BIG PICTURE IS THE TOP TWO DON'T HAVE EB, CK, AND THE THORN ON THEIR STARTING LINE-UP. The arguments from both sides can and will be good BUT in my opinion our starting line up is better than the top 2. Which give baron the potential to be the best pg in the league because of that reason. So I hope at least most of this analysis happens and we MAKE BIG NOISE IN THE PLAYOFFS. Second post coming soon......

I would rate Baron healthy right behind Steve Nash and ahead of Tony Parker 1. CP 2. SN 3. Baron 4 Tony Parker 5 Deron Willaims

However, I can't think of a team that Baron has been on that has had all the weapons he will have at his diposal. Nash has had Stoudamire, Marion, and his crew, Parker has had Tim Duncan and Ginolbli, and Deron Williams has had Boozer Okur Kirelikno. Baron really hasn't had anybody important, but now he will. Another thing, Baron will be a match up problem for all the point guards on defence, especially Steve Nash, Tony Parker, and Chris Paul.

I love CP3 at number one, then DWill. They are very truly new energized purebred PG. Kidd is old, Nash is dusty, Parker is cluttered, Hinrich is on the rise (people forgetting him). Now comes to Billups, Arenas, and Baron - all great PGs, none are pure PGs... They score, their offensive arsenal outweighs their assisting abilities... And an interesting fellow no ones mentioned is that one guy... um ALLEN IVERSON? No doubt the man is no longer a PG, but that is due to his environment. AI is one of the sharpest players in the league and if you want a PG he will be a great one for the team.

    1) CP3 (deadly and deserved MVP of the 07-08 season)
    2) DWill (incredibly fundamental, best vision of the court)
    3) Iverson (getting old, lost PG touch)/Billups (heavy offensive arsenal)
    4) Baron (physical, injury riddled)/Arenas (flashy, offense)
    5) Nash/Kidd (<-- both are great, both are old; wouldn't start a franchise with them)
    6) Hinrich (will do better with a better team)

Lets admit it the age of basketball where PGs were PGs and SGs were SGs has come to an end. Now there is a vague category of a 1, 2, and 3 guard that are all interchangeable. There are very few true PGs out there in the league, everyone is a hybrid. DWill is the most pure PG the NBA has seen in a while, but he lacks the electricity and hype of CP3.

    6) Baron Davis
    7) Jose Calderon
    8) Jason Kidd
    9) Allen Iverson (SG)
    10) Gilbert Arenas (SG)

Steve Nash holding...but soon to decline
    Chauncey Billups ready to decline
    Jose Calderon moving up
    Jason Kidd...sharply declining
