All the clippers need in my head, is a center. Now you have a great team

Chris, JJ, danny, blake ,DJ

DC, Jamal, Matt Barnes, glen davis, and or a new center. Bench

Jared dudley will help give barnes and danny rest

THIS IS COULD BE THE YEAR.

Jj needs to be healthy

DJ hit freethrows.

Danny, be the old danny

Cp3, well you know cp3 is going to be cp3

Blake play a bit for defence

I'm feeling good

This really could be the year the Clippers win it all. Man, that would be awesome!

Unfortunately no true back up center (this year anyway) but with Big Baby and his girth, it should be ok.

Make it to the WCF and see what happens.

Still should pick up Jason Collins if BK lets him go... Doubt it tho.

Too late for that (March 1st deadline).

We need JJ to come back and NOT be out indefinitely if we're gonna win it!

That's the deadline for buyouts, I think you can still do 10-days.

Won't help for the PO's is my point.

I don't think it is a rule you need a traditional backup center. San Antonio comes to mind. I think a 4 big rotation for post season is pretty standard

The backup C isn't worrying me, I feel like big baby / hollins can play serviceable minutes at C (more big baby than hollins..).

I'm more worried about JJ -- his first quarter production really puts our offense in gear

I mean 3 big. I hope that Hollins is our cheerleader and nothing more

Would we consider FA Marcus Camby

Hope not, but it wouldn't matter anyway he wouldn't be available for the PO's. Don't think we'll be signing him in the next few hours.

Again, I think we will be fine with Davis.

Why wouldn't he be available for the Playoffs?

I believe any FA who signs after March 1st isn't available for the PO's.

Only if they were released after March 1st. Technically he's eligible, but physically he's probably not.

One defense-focused center with strength to backup DJ would be nice, but we're sitting pretty right now. I don't want to make any claims on the post-season, but this has to be the most talented Clippers team ever? Right?

Believe you're right. I forget that he has yet to play this year in the NBA which then makes a FA player eligible till the last day.

I can't speak for the Braves since I wasn't around but yes quite easily if everyone is healthy. The key word is healthy. We haven't been healthy all season.

CP3/Collison

Redick/Crawford/Willie

Barnes/Granger/Bullock

Blake/Dudley/Turkoglu

DJ/Davis/Hollins

Really deep and stacked team. The only weakness at this point are our wings but maybe Granger can be that guy.

People used to say DJ was going to be the X factor for this team?

Nope! Redick is! If he comes back healthy before the playoffs we can definitely win it all!

I hope he comes back befor the season is over

Wow that is crazy to see us ranked that high.

I will say one thing, I like our chances a lot better with davis and Granger than I did with Mullens and Jamison.

Just cause we have 15 spots on the roster doesn't mean we have to use them all. Might as well save the last spot, just in case if anything happens.

We have the 6th easiest schedule remaining. I think the 1st or 2nd easiest out West.

DJ still has an argument because defense is our X-Factor. DJ is still the most important piece of this defense. As much as this team can score when healthy, there are still some teams that can match that, but who is gong to defend better? At the moment this team isn't winning the who will defend better conversation except for against Portland and I think Houston.

I know these guys can score, so I don't care that much about offense. What I want to see in the next 20+ games is whether this team can defend at an elite or close to elite level. If not, that's a big limiting factor on how successful a post-season team we can be.

The addition of Granger and Big Baby puts us over the top IMO. Prior to these moves I had my doubts and our play at times makes us look like 1st rd exits, but overall though this team has been impressive. OKC sits atop the West with 44-15 record but we've easily could have been leading the West at this point.

We're a CP3 jumper in Portland , Randy Foye prayer in Denver, BS ejection/ Crawsover buzzer beater in Golden State , 6 pt loss the Cleveland, and 4 pt loss to Charlotte away from being 45-15 in 1st place. wink wink

This team is as talented if not the most talented team in the league. Tighten up the defense and keep and intensify the focus and there's no reason why we shouldn't make the Finals. Go Clips!!!

Houston has a pretty tough schedule remaining. 4 or 5 teams have a legit shot to win the West. A #1 or #2 team could get knocked out in Round 1, giving a team like the Clippers home court advantage in the 2nd round. Time will tell, I expect an exciting, competitive playoff season in both Conferences.

Those are a lot of stipulations, but I get the idea. The West is so competitive this year that a couple of losses are going to mean a LOT in the standings.

To me, we just a better version of the Nets right now. A deadly team on paper, but nothing's certain.

Health is a main issue, guys have been hurt all season. So just expecting all the key players to be back and healthy for the entire playoffs is a big if.

Team chemistry's another issue. Because of injury, Collison, Crawford, Dud / Barnes keep switching their roles back and forth. Altogether, this team probably only played about 15-20 game with a full lineup. When Crawford and especially JJ comes back, it's unreasonable to expect them to produce like they were, and fit in with the team right away.

I don't like our chances if Crawford and JJ don't come back AT LEAST 2 weeks before playoffs start.

When you beat the best teams in the league, and fighting for the 2 seed

it;s safe to say you're more than just a deadly team on "Paper".

To even compare us to the nets is blasphemous.

I think prior to these moves we may have been on the decline. Now with Granger and Davis two very defficient areas have been addressed. What these moves have done is give us a fighting chance to gain ground in the standings and possibly beat the top 3 in the playoffs. Much depends on how much gas Granger has left in the tank. The thing we have going for us is that we don't need a 25 PPG Granger; we simply need a 12 PPG Granger, but given the injury that isn't certain to happen. It's going to be exciting to see what we get from Granger.

I just saw this as well. These are updated daily. However, Hollingers system isn't really needed to reach that conclusion. The Clippers are currently the 4th best team in the west, they recently beat the Thunder, Rockets, and Portland in the past couple of games, and added two new players that address their areas of wekness. I think even outside of this forum and aside from Clippers fans most of the media consider this squad a serious contender for the title.

Danny Granger being back to the old Granger is a GIGANTIC "if." He hasn't been productive for almost two full seasons. This season, he has played 29 games and shot 36% from the field, which is just terrible. Is he suddenly going to be an efficient player? Likely not. We can hope that he incrementally improves so that he isn't awful, but to expect anywhere near the old Danny Granger to show up this season is a pipe dream.

Are the Clippers good enough to make the Western Conf, especially considering how well Portland, San Antonio, and OKC are playing.

Portland is a .500 team recently who just lost to the lakers yesterday. I don't think they get out of the first round.

I agree with bringkamanback, I only consider Okc, SAS and us elite in the west. I think Hou can eventually get there but don't see it happening this year. If Portland could play something similar to defense I'd be more concerned. Any team can get hot at the right time and be dangerous, but those aren't the teams I would consider elite. I think Memphis and goldenstate are two teams that can get hot at the right time and are good for one upset. Portland might be able to sneak in an upset too, depending where they fall in the seeding (I would consider them beating Hou a slight upset).

They make the WCF with CP3, BG32 and their outstanding supporting cast (but we need Jamal and JJ back to do this).

I really liked the granger signing BC of this defense not his offense. We can't expect this guy to average all star numbers again just BC it's a change of scenery.

I believe he will be huge for us when it comes to guarding Parsons, Batum, Durant, George and James.

This guy has a huge upper body and I know Durant won't be able to post him up. He defended lebron pretty well last year.

I'm just excited for the playoffs BC I believe that's when his defense will help us out the most.

Now we have 2 guys to swap to stop and guard the Durant, the Harden, and guys like LBJ, if it comes to that. NICE!

In my opinion these are the reasons why

-Paul is the hest point guard in the league

  • Jamal Crawford is our scoring star. SHOULD BE A ALLSTAR

-Blake our, mvp of the year.. killing all those haters

-DJ, i'm sorry i wanted to trade you last season, that is all I'm goong to say

-Doc rivers, has the biggest influence.

  • Have a team, that wants to play

-But i think the biggest thing of all..... Chemisty is so good

What do you guys think

Top 5 offense in the league with a good amount of weapons, the ability to attack in different ways, and also the ability to play both a slow down game and up tempo game. Fairly solid on defense, and hopefully improving.

Two superstar level players (Blake is there now) helps a lot as well as an upper echelon coach.
