This might be a little bit too early but since we probably have our full roster, what moves do you guys think we can do. Can we sign anybody cheap? Thoughts? ....

Paul Pierce might sign for cheap. Mini MLE or part of the MLE (if it opens up). I am sure we can attract cheap vets who will afford us some discounts, this has been the trend in recent years. Would probably need a backup PG, as I expect Collison to opt out and test the market. If Granger plays well (Average 15 plus for us with solid D), I have a feeling we ship away both Dudley and Barnes....

I'd like to replace Hollins with a backup Center... If we can move Duds for a C that'd be ideal.

2014 as in right now? Or as in the off-season? We just got 2 players that we might end up keeping and if so, we'd need to get rid of players to make room for them. Granger or BBaby ain't going to stay here if we give them the minimum. Lets wait and see what we can do before we start playing GM. ....

Actually Big Baby will take the minimum, we already signed him for the vet min next year....

^It's a player option though, so he can opt out, unlikely yet possible.

Sure it would/could, just like Collinson will most likely opt out so as to get a better deal. ....

Baby would have to get 7 million dollar offers for him to opt out. He is guaranteed 6.6 million next year no matter where he plays. ....

Think Davis stays on the team if he can gather both checks. Seems he is comfortable with Doc and he will love the stay in LA. ....

Think that $ is part of his "buy out". If he's opts out next season he again becomes a FA. See Q65,66 from the CBA; http://www.cbafaq.com/salarycap.htm#Q65 ....

I think he'll have to pay Orlando his salary next season unless Big Baby's agent sucks & they didn't make Orlando pay them any of his 14/15 salary, in which case he got ripped off. But the fact that his deal with the Clippers unnecessarily includes next season for the vet min leads me to assume that he's been compensated for 14/15 or he would've just signed for the rest of 13/14 like Granger did. ....

Don't think so. When you're bought out each goes their own way. See my CBA link above. ....

No matter what he is getting his 6.6 million. If someone decides to pay him 5 million, Orlando pays the remaining 1.6. If the Clippers pay him 1,4, Orlando coughs up the rest of the 4.2. So unless someone offers him 7 million, which in turn takes Orlando off the hook and baby nets an extra 0.4 million. he wil....

Can we worry about this season first before we start playing GM for next season and offseason. It's kinda ridiculous. This season isn't even over. This is a thread for the off-season. Not during the season when the Clips are making a run at a title ....

Define buy out according to the CBA.
I don't know but from recent history and buy outs with additional years in combination with the rest of the current season, the team who bought out the player usually pays the rest of the contract. The only case where a guy truly sacrificed his remaining years salary was Mike Bibby 3-4 years ago. He sacrificed the salary for his final year. Edit: I think written in the CBA, the player is supposed to....

A buy out is a settlement of monies by both the player and the team so that neither has any further obligation towards one another. Once he clears waivers he becomes an unrestricted FA and can seek employment for whoever at what ever dollars they are willing to paid him. If multi years were left on the contract when the buy out was negotiated the the team is still on the hook for his last year of salary which affects....

Don't see any reason (or heard any) why Bled wouldn't want to return to that young up and coming team. Plus being a restricted FA they can and most probably will match any offer. 90+% chance he stays. ....

If with that less the 10% chance I gave for him leaving, there's a less of a chance of him coming back here I'm afraid. ....
