How is everyone feeling about our half court offense? Last year that was the big critique? Do people feel this has been addressed? Last nights game made me think this was worth discussing with playoffs around the corner.

Our problems have nothing to do with Offense and honestly it doesn't have that much to do with our Defense either, we just need more effort.

I like our halfcourt offense, ESPECIALLY if we get JJ back, running pindowns, screens all game long, but even without him... I saw us running that tight pick and roll with CP3 and Blake, pick n roll with DJ and Blake, we're just drained from all the injuries, but I like our offense.

I think we're in trouble when the playoffs start. That's when teams hustle back on defense and contest every shot. One major indicator of this is how bad JJ (when healthy), Barnes, Crawford and Dudley have been against elite teams. Atlanta gave us a preview of the playoffs. Use Barnes man to double Blake and dare Barnes to shoot. I counted seven turnovers from Barnes last night

Barnes in my opinion should be the spark plug on defense by the second unit.

I buy into this. When the Clippers turn it on I think they can beat anyone in the league. But sometimes they seem to not be so focused and turn easy stuff into real challenges.

But you now what, this has been the greatest time of my NBA life and it all started with the first year Blake played. I don't care what anyone want to attribute our rise to, coach, CP3 , people wanting to play here now, blah blah, all I know is, the first year Blake played it started being fun again. And it just gets better every year.

Last night it was a lot of passing with no intention to do anything resulting in a lot of late in the clock situations and violations. That worried me. Plus blake hasn't been as effective at, to use a phrase I despise, creating his own shot. I feel we took a step back the last few games despite the streak

Why are you worried about or offense? The last three games we've scored 104, 142 & 109.

Just because Blake isn't scoring 35ppg doesn't mean he's not playing amazing basketball. He has been creating his shot beautifully if you ask me.

I think we need less ISO ball, not more.

Our ball movement has been great even without Redick. But we need Redick in order for us to maximize our talents. A bench of,Collison, Crawford, Granger, Davis, and Turkolu will give us crazy depht resembling last year

Worried about scoring in playoff situations. Turnovers have become a problem too

We never had any problems with our half-court offense at any point including last season. It was hilarious how people thought we played fast last year and got all of our points through fastbreak points(they were off turnovers, not because we ran a lot).

Our defense on the other hand....

Turnovers are a problem right now, but I have faith it will be corrected in the playoffs when every possession means something.

While last night was ugly, I looked back at the Hawks' schedule and they've lost close games to Indiana (89-85), Memphis (79-76) and Chicago (107-103) recently too. Maybe we're overanalyzing a bit.

i think its because they cancelled practice. have you guys noticed how bad they play sometimes when they don't practice?

We managed to put up 109 against the Hawks without any semblance of good defense leading to transition buckets, which is our bread and butter. The halfcourt offense is fine... it's that "D" that needs to be consistent.

We'll be fine when playoffs come around. ... I'm actually excited because I'm seeing granger find his spots and make his shots once he gets the ball. Big baby is like a rich man's turiaf/Evans combined! I love his hustle! And his screens are so effective!! Getting jj back would be great! I never thought I'd say this but Ryan is actually playing pretty well. (For the few minutes we see him)

Never really want to take too much out of one game, that's mainly what I'll say. It's looked pretty good if we look at multiple games, so it can't be good all the time.

Of course Redick would help, and right now, since he's one. Of course Crawford. Having Paul automatically makes you at least an above average half court offense, so there's also that. Season wise, it's overall been good with the starters and recently it's also been fine with the starters in a whole picture sense.

The last few games? You realize that the game before this we set a record for largest margin of victory in team history...

During out 19 game win streak, we had a few games like this against worse teams. The Hawks are a decent team mired in a slump. We'll be fine, let's not overreact to one game.
