Quote:
The Clippers league-high active win streak has reached nine as they enter a soft stretch of schedule where the play six in a row against teams with losing records beginning tonight with Utah.

The Big Picture:

The Clippers have won nine games in a row and that string includes victories over the Thunder, Rockets, Warriors and twice over the Suns. The next six games feature no such names, as the Clippers will not again face a team with a winning record until almost two weeks from now, April 27th in Dallas. The soft stretch begins with an out-and-back road game in Utah tonight to face the Jazz, tied for last place in the Western Conference. The Clippers will likely be without shooting guards J.J. Redick and Jamal Crawford again, but Blake Griffin and Chris Paul and DeAndre Jordan and company should be more than enough to handle the Jazz. Griffin has scored 67 points in his last two games, and his string of consecutive 20 point games has reached 25. Paul's shot was off against the Warriors as he began the game 1-9, but he came up big at the end, and his defense and floor leadership was fantastic throughout. There's very little reason that the Clippers shouldn't make it 10 straight tonight.

The Antagonist:

The Jazz are bad, but hey, they're nowhere close to as bad as the 76ers, which happens to be the only team that Utah has beaten in their last eight games. The good news is that Utah has been pretty good against bad teams (15-11). But given that they still have the worst record in the West, that leaves them 7-32 against teams over .500, which sadly, playing in the Western Conference, they see a lot. The combination of Utah's futility against good teams and the fact that the Clippers haven't suffered a bad loss in a while makes an upset tonight pretty unlikely. Even in the altitude of Salt Lake City, Utah's only 14-18 at home. The Jazz are led in scoring by Gordon Hayward and they have seven players who average 9.6 points or higher.

Granger.

Danny Granger has 14 and 18 points in his last two games -- his season high in 29 games in Indiana this season was 16. Granger has been deadly in the first half of the last two games, but fallen off considerably in the second half each time. Is that because he's getting tired? Or is it just coincidence? Regardless, the very fact that he is still capable of doing what he's done in the first half of the last two games is great news for the Clippers. In Crawford's absence, Granger has been the go to scorer for the second unit. What's strange is that it sure seems like Indiana could use a guy like that about now.

Griffin.

Griffin is an absolute matchup nightmare for Utah. Marvin Williams has been their starting power forward all season, but he'll get absolutely overpowered by Griffin. Derrick Favors has a better chance than most of matching up with Griffin physically, but Ty Corbin would have to go big with Favors and Enes Kanter together or DeAndre Jordan will feast on the offensive glass. The way Griffin is playing right now, it may not matter who they put on him.

Rebounding.

One problem the Clippers still need to focus on is rebounding, particularly on their own defensive glass, and Favors and Kanter like to go after offensive rebounds. It's hard to imagine how Utah can have enough to pull this out unless they get a whole lot of extra shots after offensive rebounds, which is a distinct possibility if the Clippers fall back into bad habits.

Clippers can hit 10 straight with a win tonight and move up to 2 games above Houston for third.

Lets Go Clips. Don't Give The Jazz Any Incentive That They Can Beat You.

Well it sounds like we got this one already, let's hope Doc makes sure they are not thinking like that tough.

Unless they lose focus and play down to the Jazz's level, Clippers should win this easily. I hope the starters can rest in the 4th quarter and get the bench some burn.

Win your 10th in a row, Clippers!

This game is kind of scary in my opinion, because it seems like a game we might think is won before they even play. As long as they show up they can have it in the third quarter. If they show up disinterested it could be a disaster in the making.

Hopefully they blow them out and we get to see a lot of Reggie.

After two tough games against Phoenix and Golden State, this feels like a possible trap game. We need to get out to a good start and then not let them make a late comeback, like we did with Atlanta and Phoenix.

Are we actually even worried....? I don't get it. I see a 10 chance or less of us losing by pure BS and luck.

Clippers have been too good, consistent, and just hot to lose to the SECOND worse record in the West. Lol like c'mon this should be no sweat off our back. I just feel so confident with the team and how they've been playing, especially with our new bench additions with Granger and Davis. #ItsTime

I'm nervous - trap game. Can't overlook anybody! That is a hard place to play. This team has not had any horrible losses in a long time but this would qualify.

clipper players know the next 6 games are crucial. They're not going to take their feet off the gas pedal just because the teams are sub-par

Clippers haven't lost a good trap game in a while. I think we drop this one.

I hope they do just smash, and I'm hoping the bench just keeps the foot on the pedal. I'd love for Reggie to do great in extended garbage time minutes. Possibly making Doc consider playing a bit more the next few games as JJ insurance.

If we win tonight at Utah, Sunday against Cleveland, and Monday at Denver, we'll have the longest win streak, at 12 straight, of any team this season. Let's do this!

Might = Slight! These guys are fiery, hungry, and contenders. It will be hard to beat them on their home floor. They have an MVP in Hayward and a R.O.Y in Trey Burke who is better than Chris Paul ever was. It will be difficult to win.

Very Happy

LoL. Psh the Jazz! Yeah they are contenders all right... For the 1st pick in the draft! Fiery and Hungry? They are barely .500 on their home floor. MVP? If that is the case than JJ Reddick is ours because they average the same points. The only thing is Burke , but Chris has his way with the Rooks.

Worried? NO

Ugh I am stuck with the Jazz broadcast. Are they fair!? League Pass should allow you to choose which teams broadcast you want to listen to if both are available. As much money as we pay is that not so much to ask of.

I'm actually a bit worried too. Utah is a tough place to play and the Jazz have given us competitive games this year. Definitely a potential trap game.

Did anyone else see that horrible sequence Syracuse just had against NC State? They seriously missed at least 6 potential game-tying shots.

this stupid commentator just said we don't play any Defense. That really pisses me off our guys are trying hard and 1 of the leading defensive teams and they still throw this old **** out

if DJ could learn how to challenge at the front of the rim. He is long enough and jumps higher than everyone so he could hang in the air and just wait for the dunk to come down.

Good Timeout Doc! Lackluster performance by the guys! Salt Lake playing a factor a little bit. I do not see our offense. Defenses are not getting spread out anymore. Atleast with JJ and Jared they could not leave them because they were threats from 3! Collison and Barnes are mostly corner 3s! We need JJ or atleast Jamal back to space out the defense. They are just collapsing on the paint

DJ is getting exposed again, but he'll hit some free throws or something in the 4th and everyone will pat him on the back like he did something.

The 1st quarter isn't even over. You have to factor in travel, altitude, and other things in to slow starts! Its not how DJ starts , but how he finishes! Give him some time
