Why would they throw the game? Lol
Because this team isn't even in the playoffs. Why exert energy when you have an actual playoff team to face the next day! *Cough Cough* Back To Back.....

plainly obvouis he has a real lack of confidence in his shot right now, seriously shooting practice right after a game? ye his confidence is at an all time low

My solutions:

1.our bench is soft as a fluffy kitten - move barnes to second unit to provide some fire and "toughness"

  1. Move granger to starting lineup and try giving him looks with Paul and blake

  2. No more Turkoglu- him being on the floor usually coincides with deficits

  3. Try giving baby and dj some burn together

  4. Hire a sports psychologist for cp3 - this was a disgusting performance

I really hope this game wasn't the sign of a late season collapse. I have a terrible feeling.

It's not always exactly 0-12 but CP3 has WAAAAAAYYYY too many abysmal shooting nights like this in the regular season. It's to the point where he'll throw away a few winnable games per year by just completely vanishing.

they keep saying CP3 has the highest shooting percentage in the league from about 15 out..... that didn't show tonight.

I say because his aggressiveness has really gone downhill. He rarely takes it to the rim in the half-court set anymore. He only settles for the mid-range jumper. He is too good of a player not to be going to the rim with his shots. Dude can finish.

Even more reason why throwing this game on purpose would be idiotic, since there's a very good chance we'll be 0-2 on this B2B now.

he's played 53 games and made less than 5 FG in 11 games including tonight. Two were a 21 point and 45 point blowout where he was 3/8 and 3/6 respectively, then a 4/9 15 put game by NY playing 26 mins so 8 games in 53 tries with really bad shooting.

So it's like once every 6-7 games. Not sure I would get concerned about that too be honest with you.

For all the people just writing off this loss and the recent poor play - you do realize this was supposed to be the one easy game on the trip? You do realize we play Dallas, Houston, Minnesota and Phoenix over the next four games, right? You do realize we have a very mediocre road record and are under .500 on the second night of a back-to-back? A winless record on this road trip would not surprise me and would be extremely troubling.

Would you rather go 2-3 on the trip or 4-1 or 3-2. If we would have won in OT we would have been decimated the next day. Its not idiotic to throw the first game....

We're looking at 0-5 now because we blew our best chance at a win.

You say that as if this team has played well enough in this recent stretch and on the road all year to justify being confident enough in beating playoff contenders to blatantly throw a game against a lottery team.

I have said this before i would gladly trade paul for a superstar wing, these days any scrub PG in the NBA can go 8-9ass, 10-12pts and with BG playing at a MVP level that is all we need, seriously CPs lack of height handicaps his scoring capabilities against good long defensive teams

Why would this be the easy game? New Orleans is now 8-4 in their last 12 and on a 4 game winning streak. People probably weren't playing too close attention to their recent success.

Their 3 Gane won streak was Hawks, Heat, Nets, not bad, and now add the Clippers.

We didn't throw this game for crying out loud. We just played our C- game and lost. Period. I think we'll be happy to go 3-2 on this trip.

Every 6-7 games is pretty damn common for a guy that averages almost 20 and is considered the 3rd best player by many. More importantly than field goals made look up games where he shoots under 35 or 40 percent in year one compared to last two years. Not sure on the figures myself but I have a feeling my perceptions will be confirmed. He was so reliable in the clutch and so consistent year one.

I find myself agreeing more and more with this with each new disappearing act from CP3.

Considering all the injuries they had tonight and their overall record, it was STILL our best chance at a win. Dallas, Houston, and Phoenix are all playoff-worthy teams and Minnesota > NOLA. With the way we've played over the past four games or so, we would get blown out by all four.

Bottom line: this team needs to finally decide if they're pretenders or contenders. If they're really contenders, they need to man up and beat the next four teams. With the recent level of play from this team, I have my doubts. They proved me wrong when I said they couldn't win any big games, I would love nothing more than to be proven wrong again.

To be completely 100 percent honest I don't think Chris Paul is playing as hard knowing what Blake is doing... But I believe come playoff's Chris "WILL" kick it into gear and we'll see that CP3 we have missed all season long... Still leads the league in assists and steals.. I wouldn't say that is very scrub.

I hate this board sometimes. Some people on here write the most negative sh*t at times. Relax, it's a frickin loss. We missed a ton of free throws, and chris Paul played terrible it happens. I can swear the second we lose to a team we shouldn't lose to, people think it's the end of the world or it's a "late season collapse"

Or how we might go winless or it's possible cause of our tendencies throughout the season. This is the first game we lost in awhile. I don't even consider the Denver one a loss cause Crawford and Collison were out off a back to back.

PS: we just recently had an 11 game win streak, don't forget

Well, your choice of superstar wings are LeBron and Durant and we'll who wouldn't trade for them, so you aren't really saying anything note worthy.

Lucky for us though CP averages 18-9/4/11 with low turnovers and plays high level defense.

Eh, now I've had time to think about this game, it was a pretty bad loss. Nothing we can do now though. Best to not worry, and move on to the next one.

I'm starting to think Paul's public announcement that Blake needs to step up and take over the team was a way to get the pressure and focus off of him. Because since Blake has taken over the team he doesn't have the same consistency or focus it appears. He's half ass-ing things often times.

Aside the CP horrific shooting display, there was the usual scrub of the night.

Scrub of the night brought to you by: Your Los Angeles Clipper Darius Miller.

Bonus round!

Scrub number two of the night is also brought to you by your Los Angeles Clippers! Alexis Ajinca. All of his Double Doubles have come against LA. ZERO vs the league.

Really wish people would stop complaining about this. Scrubs go off against other teams all the time, especially if they're motivated because a contender is coming to town. Nothing worth noting, and nothing worth worrying about.

Nobody here complained about the Denver loss because it was 100 percent reasonable. Denver is a hellish place to play on a B2B, refs screwed us, we were shorthanded and we still fought until the end. This game and other games we've lost vs bad teams have been different. Tonight the Pelicans were down 6 rotation players, we had like 2 days rest... and we had everybody important but Redick and our supposed best player had his worst performance of the year, following 3 great scoring games. It's just impossible to explain logically or point out WHAT happened. This is what angers people (including me).

I do not think we forgot. It is that we are in the Doc kinda of mindset. Forget the last game and focus on the next game. We focused on this one and tomorrow we will be back on the next one. Whether we win it or lose it, this game will be forgotten!

CP3 is a master at maintaining a squeaky clean image and ducking media criticism despite never getting past the second round in his career, so it wouldn't surprise me if that's the case. Still, though, Blake's stepped up this year while CP3 has slacked off. There's really no excuse. Honestly, it's time for the media to start giving CP3 the same treatment they've given to Melo, Dwight, LeBron before his first ring, etc. - maybe once he actually has to face pressure over his less-than-stellar resume, the disappearing acts will cease.

Just wish our scrubs would go off on other teams also. Very Happy

By the way, Ajinca does not go off on other teams. Check his DBL DBL stats.

I quoted Brian Seiman, Clippers radio play by play.

I doubt CPs stocks are even close to that of LB or Durant, right now I would gladly trade him for Harden&Beverly, George&Hill or DeRozan&Lowry

Yep, Ajinca has never gone off on other teams. Nope. Fans of contending teams just need to suck it up that this sort of thing happens sometimes.

If Blake keeps this up even during playoffs and Paul doesn't step up to a true SUPERSTAR level... he's going to get destroyed by the media and fans. I won't even try to defend the guy either. I appreciate what he's done for us in terms of credibility but if all it leads to is multiple early playoff exits, it's for nothing. I'm starting to wonder if Bledsoe+cap space may have been the superior option going forward for the future considering the year Bledsoe is having. Funny enough if you look at my posts last year I said as much. When CP3 was supposedly debating leaving us in the summer... I told people Bledsoe+capspace would make us a contender too. It would allow Blake+DJ to truly explode like they have and took even further when CP3 was down.

Blake gets a pass. He just turned 25 and is in his 4th year. Paul is in his 9th year and hasn't been passed the second round.

Bro, I totally get it. But what do you guys think or expect? 100% consistency every single game? The best in the league have played like ass at some point this season. The reigning champions miami heat and pacers have been struggling bad and so have other teams. Like I don't get it! If we are true fans you don't go talk sh*t every time something bad happens. That's like bad mouthing a friend or girlfriend pretty harshly over one little f up.

Yeah cp played piss poor, but I know it happens. It happens to Paul George, Lebron, etc. All the greats in this league! He has had amazing games this seasons and struggled with a bad injury and believe it or not maybe even needs more time to get his confidence fully back. As mad as I get when they lose, I control what I type and what comes out of my mouth. It's just sad to see that's all, we overlook the 11 win streak and how we are 8-2 in our last 10 games and how we hold like the best record in the NBA at home almost. I'm just a more half glass full guy instead half glass empty.

What a shock, the homer (who never shows up after a win, by the way) is back to lecture anyone who doesn't pump nothing but sunshine about the team when they are CLEARLY playing well below expectations.
