What Team Do You Guys Believe Is A "Nightmare" matchup for the Clippers. A team who they are consistently inconsistent against. Some may think its the Thunder, or Warriors perhaps even the Grizzlies. I think....

Injuries are our nightmares. But voted for the spurs since CP is winless against them in PO series

Warriors had our number before their latest loss to us, and Memphis always gets our guys worn out and injured.

I relate this to the Trojans of the Reggie Bush and Matt Leinart era (minus Reggie's parents effing us up),the team when healthy was unstoppable but most of us fans had a hard to believing it. No matter who the opponent, when on we were untouchable. One year they even had t-shirts printed saying "Yes,We are that good".

I see that in our Clippers. When on their game,we are the nightmare.

Anyway,if you want to win the Finals, you have to fear no team and that is how I am going to look at it until the season ends, however it may end. Jizzlies want to go toe to toe, bring 'em on (Baby will eat them alive). Wubs want to try and out run us,bring them on. Collison will show them what running is really like. Spurs used to be the ones, but after the last 2 years I know we can take them.

Welcome to our nightmare.

Repped High Quality Post

No single team scares me, but a difficult road to the Finals scares me.

While I think we can beat anyone, if we have to go 6 or 7 with Memphis, then 6 or 7 with OKC, we might run out of gas against the Spurs in a long series.

If we blast through the first round, watch out.

Spurs only because they are the epitome of efficiency and consistency. And CP3 won 3 games against them when he was on the Hornets when the Spurs had far better players and a far better coach. The series where we had VDN as coach and where BG and CP3 were banged up doesn't count for much.

Anyway I agree our nightmare matchup is health. Nothing else comes close.

The Warriors were lucky that they had refs on their side(BG bogus ejection) and we were always banged up when they faced us outside of the first game of the season. If we are healthy we will kill that jump shooting team.

Nightmare match up will be the Memphis until now the bullying tactics of Zbo to Blake is hard to watch like an injury coming even we won the series with Memphis likely the team will not be healthy coming to the next series which is the Spurs.

"Nightmares" really? If any team is giving us nightmares then we just aren't that good.

We should be cognizant of all potential playoff opponents, but to be overly worried for one single matchup is just showing that we don't believe in our team enough.

It would be way less satisfying if our road to the Finals went through teams like Portland, Dallas, Warriors and then meet Brooklyn in the Finals.

I want to beat the best teams to prove we are actually the best.

I think as long as we have Doc we can get through anyone. Doc and his adjustments and ability to get "more" out of the players is the key IMO.

Doc comes from the eastern conference, so it'll take him some time to figure out the other coaches, and I think he will. People forget that we have a pretty close to elite coaching staff. Our offense is really what people need to figure out how to stop. The question will never be can the Clippers slow down so and so, it'll be can so and so slow the Clippers down?

Doc and Pop are probably the best coaches in the NBA at doing what they do...and that's making adjustments and playing the chess game. In the playoffs I think Doc picks everyone else apart. Jackson and Joerger don't stand a chance. Even Brooks has looked foolish against Doc.

Pop is the only guy I'm scared of. At this point we can all just hope that the Spurs run out of steam by the time we play them.

Rd. 1: Warriors - Beat the streaky jumpshooters and their cheating coach.

Rd. 2: Thunder - Beat the Refs and the NBA's resident crybaby.

Rd. 3: Spurs - Beat the "Terminator" of basketball teams. Near perfect system and execution.

Finals: Heat - Beat the two-time defending champs who play the same entertaining brand of ball as us. Clippers East, if you will.

Sounds like a dream to me.

They're all set up... now we've just got to knock them down.

CapsNClips, I believe we can beat any and everyone , but saying nightmare isn't saying we are scared of that team. Nightmare matchups in my opinion are the best of matchups because if you can conquer....

Spurs are machine and a very talented machine. Think of every strength the Clippers have and the Spurs have something close, or match or supersede it.

Chris Paul generally considered the league's best PG, but then they have Parker, a top 5 PG himself, so they still get high level production

Jamal Crawford, a 6th man who can score, shoot and create, they raise us a Ginobili, a 6th man who can score and shoot just as well, create better and defend better.

Blake Griffin, this one they no longer match offensively with Griffin's improvement, in previous seasons Duncan was the higher impact player. Still, they have the better and more versatile (can truly guard the 4/5) defender in Duncan who is still a very capable offensive player and an elite defensive presence.

DeAndre Jordan, well Tiago Splitter while it might not be as noticed is a very good player, defends quite well for them, and he is better offensively while not being a liability at the line.

Redick, they don't really have a Redick, but then Green is also an excellent shooter and on the other end his length and athletic ability as well as discipline easily beats anything Redick can accomplish on defense with effort.

SF, Granger helps, but that Leonard guy is pretty good.

Even with Collison, they have Patty Mills not destroying the league. Belinelli is doing well for them, Diaw is a better backup big man than any on the Clippers, though Davis has given an improvement there.

They are just a deep team that fits well around each other, have a great system on both ends and are coached well.

Clippers - WCF or bust this year. No chance we don't make it that far. I'll be at the final victory when we take home the banner this season as well.

None are nightmares, we can beat all of those teams. People say the Spurs are old and will get tired in the playoffs, even though they've had a superb regular season. Gonna be fun to watch!

I'm not going to vote in the poll because I think we can beat any of those teams in a 7 game series. Without Redick, we might be able to beat them, but with Redick we definitely can take them all. Bring 'em on!

Grizzles.

If the Clippers play them in the playoffs and after the Clippers win:

They'll be too tired and/or banged up when they play the next team. Everyone knows how the Grizzlies play the Clippers (maim, kill etc). Whenever these two teams face off against each other a Clipper usually winds up with an injury following a game against them.

To be realistic, of course I think we can beat anybody, I want them to beat everybody. The spurs are for sure our nightmare matchup, for some reason, ginobilli Duncan and Parker always seem to shine no matter how much hair they've lost. But I agree with everyone else, we are only going to beat ourselves.

I was just watching an interview with JJ at their practice facility from earlier today. Its on the clippers.com site

JJ is saying that his body has responded very well after the first couple games back. If he's got his rhythm back for the playoffs were a different team. I can't wait for the playoffs regardless who we face.

The Spurs.

First, our bench has done poorly. They have never played together. When have Baby, Dudley, Granger, Jamal and Darren ever played together? Never. We have a bench of players who could be starters except Baby and they've gotten killed. Doc's had to mix bench and starters so we don't have a second unit. Parker gives CP fits. We play up or down to the opponent. Pop's boys bring it every night.

It's a battle of the bench and the coaches. If Doc can get consistent effort and build bench cohesiveness on the fly we'll do OK.
