As some of you know I am also a Dodger STH and was at the opening game today. They showed CP3 on the Dodgervision doing a contest against a Dodger player and the contest was guessing the names of the players on the 1984 NBA dream team. Of course after being introduced there were a number of boos all around me from the good old Laker faithful and my big mouth starts yelling at them and standing up for CP3. Fortunately I am an old man and probably everyone thought it was just some nutty old man that has been drinking so no one gave me grief, they looked at me like I was nuts. Little did they know they were right,I am a nutty old man that drank too much.

BTW: Chris was very impressive,he got I would say 3/4 of the names right and smoked the Dodger player. I think he would have gotten them all given time but they were on a clock.

That sucks that CP got booed at the Dodgers game. Some fans are just so disrespectful. Glad you were there to clap for CP though.

What was the ratio to boos and applauses?

CP3 keeps going to Dodger's games, and I think its intriguing. If he went to an Angel's game, he'd probably be welcomed with open arms. Why does he keep trying for Dodger fans when he could set up roots in Anaheim? I think it's a battle for LA beyond the basketball court for the bigger share of the market, but I don't think all the cholo Dodger fans will ever give up on the Lakers. Interesting, no less.

I'm an Angels fan - I agree he should try an angels game. Trout is awesome. It's a family friendly stadium too and he could bring the kids without worrying that they will be heckled.

The Dodgers are LA's team. I don't like that some stupid Lakers fans boo'ed him, but it's good to see he's supporting the LA team, not Anaheim's team. They may be the LA Angels of Anaheim, but we all know what city they actually represent.

Most Lakers fans have little to no class no surprise. I would like to see how many of them will actually remain fans after a few more years of mediocrity. My guess is that most of them will hope off the bandwagon. Unfortunately, a few of them might hop on to the Clippers bandwagon too.

I wouldn't say that the angels can't be an la team...I've been going there my whole life, and I grew up on west side of la. It's a different atmosphere - way more laid back which is my speed for baseball. I find dodgers fans to remind me too much of lakers fans. Why should Paul continue to support a team and attend games if he is getting heckled? There is another team not get far away that will be welcoming, and I guarantee more angels fans are clips fans than dodgers fans are clips fans.

Who cares. They can boo him all they want. CP already signed his extension. Haha

Really though it must be bugging CP but he's here for clipper fans not Dodgers/Lakers fans.

You should learn the history, as the Angel's were LA's first professional sports team.

Disgusting. I took so much heat from Lakers fans on LTB (not all) when I started to support the Clippers. I have not gotten much "Bandwagon" hate here, if any. I am beginning to think Lakers fans (again, not all) suck and deserve the crap that team has become. Maybe that will help them become civilized.

It will be interesting how many of those "fans" will remain loyal after a few years of mediocrity. Its easy to be "loyal" when your team wins a lot of championships and is usually successful outside of a few seasons. Even in the bad seasons the Lakers at least had Kobe scoring 30+ points a game. Most Lakers fans have no right to call any other people bandwagon fans because most of them are frankly fairweather/bandwagon fans themselves.

Of course there are good Lakers fans but there are so many ignorant bandwagoners that they are the majority. I know some "Lakers fans" who live in New York who just stopped watching basketball. They were never fans true basketball fans to begin with. They just wanted to be a Lakers fan since it was "cool".

It is hard to say what the majority is -- and it is even tougher to define what a "true fan" is. All I know is there is a Los Angeles team (when I lived in NYC I was a Knicks fan and I believe in being city-o-centric) that is clearly the most exciting team west of Miami. I am having fun watching CP3, BG, Jordan and the crew and, as a bonus, my son is a Clippers fan. That L.A. fans would boo Chris Paul is unsettling. I would like to be proud of my city, it should show a little class.

I sort of understand as a Knicks fan. Most Knicks fans hate the Nets even though it is a "New York" team. Its not 100% comparable though since the Lakers are a much better franchise than the Knicks and if the Nets were as good as the Clips I am sure Knicks fans would embrace them. That being said I have no problem with bandwagon fans. I am one too. I have a problem with fairweather/fake fans. Fans that know little about basketball and only show up when things are going well.

In England with soccer fans (My biggest reference in "fanhood"), your closest rivals geographically are just that- rivals. And normally bitter rivals at that.

I don't think he is trying for Dodger fans,I think he got to know MAtt Kemp through Blake and he is the supporting his friends. I don't think he expects a standing ovation from the cholos, he knows what is coming.

If you can't guess by my screen name, I am a USC Trojan fan. The Trojan band came out to do some songs (what they played I couldn't say 'cause again our drunk cholo fans were so loud you pretty much couldn't hear a thing) but I do know they got booed too because they are not UCLA.

I am on an island at Dodger Stadium when other LA based teams are brought that are not purple and baby poop gold.

I do not know the inner workings of the Clippers top brass, but if their aim is to unseat the Lakers as L.A.'s number one team, getting their stars out to Dodger Stadium is one prong in an assault to change the culture.

If you think this is impossible, remember things change rapidly in our Internet world. Ten years ago, did you ever think there would be a black President? Or that pot would be legal in some states? Or that the Clippers would be in contention for a title and the Lakers in contention for the worst record in the NBA? Or that I would be supporting the Clippers? LOL.

So, don't be surprised if, in a couple years, CP3 will go to Dodger Stadium and get a standing ovation. And Jim Buss will get the boos!

lol change is an illusion. No, but really, I just found it interesting that he would keep going to Dodger games despite getting heckled every time. I will be the first to tell you that a change in culture is imminent, as if there is a buffer of only a few year where the Clippers are the better team, kids from that generation will grow up knowing only the Clippers as the premier franchise in LA. I was simply wondering why CP3 is seen at Dodger games all the time; I wasn't criticizing him for doing so.

I think there are still a lot of Laker fans that think he was supposed to go to the Lakers once he became a free agent since he was ok with being traded there in the first place. I only say this because I work with a lot of these type of Laker fans.

If it's an organizational thing maybe they should try out Blake. I think they would get a better reaction, then follow with CP3 and a role player.

Another interesting thing. The day after the Clips pounded the Lakers there was a Dodger game (last in the series) against the Evil Empire, also known as the Giants (or Gnats). At the Dodger game there were more people then I have ever seen in Clipper gear, save for Clipper night at the Ravine. No costume change, straight from Staples to Chavez Ravine (I made a costume change) in Clipper jerseys. Pretty much except for a NASCAR event, you cannot go anywhere without seeing that stupid purple and baby-poop colored jersey with the number 24 on the back. I saw no 24s at Dodger Stadium that day for the first time in it seem like forever. That day for once, Clips fans showed off more the Faker fans.
