Los Angeles sits one game behind Oklahoma City, which tips off its contest against Detroit 2 1/2 hours prior to the start of this game. If the Thunder lose and the Clippers beat the Blazers, Los Angeles would earn the second seed by virtue of a better conference record. No matter their seed, the Clippers are focused on winning a championship. Coach Doc Rivers will keep Griffin and Redick at home, while Chris Paul said he wasn't sure if he would make the trip. "I'm very happy that we're doing this stuff, but it's not what we want," Rivers said. Griffin picked up....

Paul should rest and Barnes deserves some as well. Let Collison, Crawford, and Duds get more chemistry going into the post season.

CP3 needs to play, He missed allot of time this year so He shouldn't need rest, especially when they've all had allot of rest the last few weeks and it seems CP3 is just now getting his stroke back. Cp3 needs to Stay Hot!!! going into game 1

. Doc said CP3 might sit, but I'd give him a Good 28 minutes.

I heard that Doc said that Blake won't travel weather the suspension is rescinded or not. If true does that mean Doc doesn't believe OKC can lose or that he likes the GSW match up and doesn't want 2nd?

A lot of key games. You have Memphis and Dallas to determine who faces the 7th and 8th seed. OKC against Detroit and Portland vs Clippers. With a OKC loss and Clipper win, the Clippers can....

Well that's a fun train of thought but I prefer to stay a bit more in the present.

I think Doc likes their odds against GSW and let's the guys relax and focus in on the match up early, instead of nail biting and watching if OKC loses and who wins with MEM and MAVS.

Rooting for Detroit and Dallas tonight along with a Clippers in of course. Second seed and facing Dallas in the first round would be great. Dallas was CP's first ever first round opponent back in 2008.

It means he wants to rest BG and not take a chance on some idiot submarining him or injuring himself in some other way. The playoffs tend to be played cleaner and Doc wants a rested, healthy Griffin for the post season. Simple as that. In fact, I wouldn't play CP3 much, if at all. Ditto Jordan. Who cares about who we face in first round? Clippers will beat either.

Shame we only got to play Portland twice this season with any real meaning. Good, challenging matchups across the board, and there's a lot to like about their team.

almost hope OKC just takes care of Detroit before we play so this can be a practice game. Bogut is probably out for the whole first round, we're healthy for the most part, I like our chances to get out of 1st round in less than 7 games.

but who knows, OKC could decide they like the GS matchup better than Mem/Dal for the same reasons. They could just sit Durant, take the loss and dare us to tank our night game. Will be interesting night.

This game is on ESPN. Originally they gave it to GSW @ DEN but gave it to the clips for better rating.

I just can't see OKC losing. If they do, it's obviously a tank - basically admitting they're frightened of the Grizz/Mavs - then the Clips can turn right around and put them in that very matchup at a huge psychological disadvantage.

Same could be said for us tanking, of course... but we're on the road against a good team missing two of our best guys. It's quite realistic that we'd lose this game anyway. OKC losing at home to a bottom-feeder is just too much of a reach.

This situation is kind of win/win for the Clips, but if I'm Brooks I try to control the only thing I can... which is the venue for that 2nd round game-7.

OKC's not tanking. They wouldn't be giving Durant so many minutes if they were.

Griffin, Redick, and most likely Paul will sit out this game. Good decision, I want our stars to rest over playoff position. I hope this team is mentally prepared for the playoffs and don't beat themselves. When were on our game we're the best team in the league, when we are sloppy, no control, no rhythm we look like a high school basketball team.

So based on my theory of the top-6 being locked in, I still don't know who to root for in the Mavs/Grizz game. OKC has lost a couple to the Mavs, but I think the Grizz might give them a harder time in the postseason.

I think the Spurs will cruise through either. Just want them to play the Rockets in the 2nd round.

Haha I know I feel sick to my stomach rooting for the Grizz given our history with them.

This will be a preseason game. As long as OKC wins, I want to see Bullock play 30 mins and plays ran through DJ.

I want HOME COURT vs OKC, so I want the 2nd seed. THIS GAME IS HUGE PEOPLE. I think OKC will get at least one game at home vs the CLippers and the Clippers will get one game in their house, so Home court advantage will be "BIG"...... IMO, that's why I can care less about shutting up the Warriors and their fans, this isn't about that, we need to shut up OKC and then the Spurs because last I've checked, they're the only one's who's done anything of notice the last few years. I'm not scared of any team but you want any advantage you can get.

We're facing the Grizz if we get the 2 seed pal, I say NO WAY Dallas beats Memphis today, but stranger things have happened so...

There's no right or wrong team to root for, mate. Anything that keeps those dirty bears out of our bracket for as long as possible is a good thing, too.

If Dallas wins, we couldn't possibly see Memphis until the WCF... which would actually be an epic series.

The stranger thing would be the Detroit Pistons beating the OKC Thunder.

Err the Mavs beat the Griz in every matchup this season. All 3 times. So I am not sure where you are getting that from. They weren't at full health for most of those matchups but a win is a win. Its more like there is NO WAY the Pistons will beat the Thunder but stranger things have happened....

Oh yea BG is suspended, CP3 is not playing and Redick isn't playing. So our game against Portland is most likely a loss.

Cheering for one thing tonight: Memphis to beat Dallas.

I don't care how their regular season went, but Gasol and Randolph against Ibaka and ???? will be incredibly hard for them to handle.

Would rather see Mem-SA vs. Dal-SA. I don't want to risk seeing memphis in the 2nd round even though I'm not worried about being able to beat them in 7 games. Injury risk, plus they're the most boring team in the west and I'm sick of them.

Anybody who plays Dallas is going to beat them up so OKC would probably have an easy first round...But we probably would too if we get GS minus Bogut. At the very least, GS is good warm up for OKC.

If Dallas and Detriot both win, I want to see Blake suit up and take the Griffin Force jet pack up to Portland and land directly on the court at tip off.

"Man" (SMH) I feel like almost everybody is real scared right now, Don't want to play Memphis? HUH, forget them, I think that's the team we should want to play in the First Round, it'll be a great test and a win over those guy's would be the perfect confidence builder. I know there's some injury risks, but aren't there injury risk with GS, I mean they get Physical as well, and they've seemed to be the ones who love to take Cheap Shots, more so then Memphis. The only non taxing first round series is against the Mavericks so is Playing GS or Memphis really that different. I can respect those who just want to beat GS, but lets loose on purpose to avoid the Grizzles "IF" they beat Dallas, Memphis Fan's have a big Cool-Aid smile on their faces, they know the Clippers fans Fear them.

I'm with @Kingkanyon on this one. I want Memphis, and think a good dominating series against them would send a strong message to the league especially those in the Western Conference. If we dominated the McGriddles in a series the same way SAS did last year, that would send a strong message. If we beat GoldenState we will have to hear how Bogut being hurt is the only reason it happened and blah Blah Blah followed by numerous excuses.

I think we can sweep Memphis if not at least go 4-1 against them. I think its time to win the rubber match in a dominating fashion.

^^Who did Miami play in the first and 2nd round last year?? Who cares? Save the tough matchups for the end, playoffs are two months long.

Even now look at Miami, conceding the 1 seed to play Bobcats in the first round and Toronto/Washington in the 2nd, much better than Chicago/Brooklyn who both played them incredibly tough.

Our confidence is probably a little shaky after being bounced so early last year. Once we advance, we will play very loose.

There's a Big Difference from the East and the West as far as the first round goes, and there's a big difference between a two time back to back champion who knows they can get it done and the Clippers who hasn't been past he 2nd round yet, they don't have the swag or the Confidence that they can get it done like Miami does, or even San Antonio for that matter, they've been to the Promise land and they've held Gold in their hands, the Clippers have yet to do that and usually for a team to break through you need to go through your Rivals and to me Memphis is our Number 1 rival and the confidence that'll come from beating them will be huge (That's if MEMPHIS beats DALLAS, but I still think the 2nd seed and Home court over OKC would be even bigger. I believe the Pistons can beat OKC maybe it's just me and I don't think Doc is Conceding this game, yes BG and J.J will be sent home but Lamarcus Aldridge won't be playing either so this isn't going to be a cakewalk for Portland.

Nobody's scared of them... we're clearly the better team. But even the world heavyweight champ takes a bodyguard out with him because he doesn't want to bust his hand taking care of some cheapshotting punk and f**king up the money he makes in the ring.

Plus, everybody's bored as sh!t with playing Memphis.

Getting 2nd seed is way more important. If OKC loses(doubtful) we should try to win this game against Portland.

That's what it sound like though, I mean be honest. Hey I'm not getting on the Superman Ride at six Flags, I WANT NO PARTS OF THAT RIDE, I'm scared of it, when you purposely try to avoid a team then IMO your at least a bit concerned or scared, Maybe not scared of losing but scared of getting hurt in the process, but scared none to less. I just don't understand how Maybe avoiding Memphis can take president over getting the 2nd seed and Home Court through the 1st 2nd round barring SA doesn't get to the WC Finals. You can't get me to understand that kind of thinking, it's foolish to think we will somehow blow through OKC with ease that's series is going to be Tough and it'll be even tougher if they have home court.

^ Not really the Clippers' call though, is it?

Scotty Brooks isn't going to throw away home court against the Clippers tonight, so it's all moot.

Detroit is up 9 with 4:20 left in the second, not enough of a lead against a team like OKC. Dallas and Memphis is currently a very close game, that will likely go down to the wire.

OKC could blow the Detroit one open at any time, or they could be dummies and loose. This would put getting the 2nd seed in the hand of the Clippers. Maybe not the best time for Blake to get suspended

I really do not like the fact that we basically have none of our starters playing. The Pistons could very well win this game. With no CP3, BG and Redick how will we beat the Blazers? I really really hope the Blazers rest players too.

Well for the Clippers and Thunder, their 2nd round opponent will be one or the other, there's no clear advantage there, so I'm assuming the coaches would want every advantage possible.

41 free throws. It's clear the refs/league weren't going to let their darlings choke away the second seed no matter what.
