If his numbers for the game were "misleading", I really don't know what else to say to you. Admit it- you're a Chris Paul troll.

I think he got trolled a little in the first half obviously but should have been more careful in second. Even he admits it. He is so important that it almost is hard to judge this game. My only only nagging worry is that we cannot win up in Oakland. Oh and we are gonna get a couple games where curry and/or klay bury us with threes. This far was ripe for the taking. You can't give away games in playoffs. We needed to protect home court and failed - warriors have a much more typical home court with loud fans. For some reason, it's hard to win there

They did fine, but with Blake in the game, it leaves other players open. They'd have to pick their poison.

I swear, it's like battling trolls among our own supposed "fans'.

I look at things like this...

I treat this forum as being an extension of talking to other fans in the next seat... even when I talk sh*t to people, it's nothing I wouldn't say to their faces. But only one time have I ever gotten into an altercation with a fellow Clippers fan, and it was because he was just f**king RAILING on our rookie (Shaun) when he had a bad game.

Now I understand that "you pay your money, you get to say what you like", but for f*cks sake... WHY?

If you don't like it - or at least the possibility of what "it" might become - then why the f**k are you even here?

Constructive criticism is valuable in all walks of life, but trolling "your own" is just being a c*nt for the sake of being a c*nt.

Seems like we've got some real defeatists here who seem happier bemoaning our failures than either celebrating our successes or contributing to our betterment.

F**king sad if you ask me.

Weren't they supposed to be scarier as underdogs?

Which is it?

Haha. Fair point. But they are scarier than that ghost yes. It's more frustrating that there was all that buildup just to be doused with cold water. I'm not the most optimistic fan - hopeful but not optimistic.

Aah, It's cool, man.

We just lost a close game where we played like sh*t... that's all.

I just hate supposed fans talking non-stop BS about their own team. I disagreed with the Vinny thing, but at least I understood it... people thought that he was the only thing standing in our way of the Larry-O (even though they were wrong), but then bagging on the best point-guard of his generation as the fall-guy is equally, if not more ridiculous.

It takes a lot of work and a lot of luck to build a championship team.

We're close. We'll get there.

For those who watched on Tv, how did the atmosphere sound? Inside was dece, but the end was insane. I just feel ABC, TNT, ESPN don't mic our crowd as much idk.

The atmosphere didn't seem that spectacular on TV. I caught the OKC game and thought their crowd sounded 10x louder on TV.

I only got to go to a few games this season, but tbh, the crowd was so weak sometimes I got super frustrated. The games I went to were close, and I was the only one up out of my seat in my section (100 section behind the bench, right above the tunnel). I guess I got unlucky...

Sounded OK at the beginning, but the venue's shape is set up for a REAL show, not a ballgame. There's a good reason they don't hold the Grammys at "the Q" or "The 'peake". Even when the lakers held game-7's there, the "loudness" was criticized.

I know a little about acoustics, and I'd say it's about 50/50 between the arena and the fans. For a lot of those hillbillies, a ballgame is the loudest they get to scream outside of a domestic violence incident.

For sure, I want to travel up to Oracle to check out just how big of a difference it is. However, that would most likely end in my murder cuz I can hardly take the warriors fans in Staples.

I don't think it's technically murder if you bring it on yourself by pointing out that Oakland is carbuncle on California, and that you are there merely to observe and mock the unfortunate residents of said shanty.

However... manslaughter would probably fly.

Repped High Quality Post

Hey guys, sorry, I haven't posted in a long time but I've been reading your posts off and on all season and seen all 82 games. This has been a great season!

My takes for this game:

  1. Seems as if klays, cry baby unclassy pre game comments had an impact on the reffing against Blake. That impacted the whole game. At least 2 of those calls weren't even debatable fouls. Big baby stepped up but still, his best is not even near Blake's' average game.

  2. Crawford was completely useless except his half court shot. He missed lots of shots he usually makes. If he's not scoring, he's a liability cause he's not a strong defender or rebounder. As an 18 ppg scorer, if he played his average, this is clearly a win.

  3. With Blake playing 19 mins and Crawford, our no.3 scorer hardly doing anything, you would think we would be in trouble but other guys stepped up and made big plays (JJ, big baby, DJ, Cp3). Collision and Cp3 played great defense on curry.

  4. A lot of people here are complaining about CP3, i don't know what game you guys were watching. Yes, he made mistakes. Not his best game or not a great game for his standards. But he still played good. Remember, he played great defense mainly against klay and curry. Totally mismatched in the post, klay, didn't do much, which is sad considering the 6 inches and 15-20 lb advantage. He had to chase curry off the ball a lot and also guard him when he had the ball. That's tiring and he didn't give curry too many freebies at the line or give up easy shots. Cp3 made 2 huge 3's in the 4th which shifted the momentum and had a huge steal on Klay near the end which Collison clumsily fumbled out of bounds. The last turnover he was clearly fouled by Green.

  5. I still can't believe the cp3 turnover at the end wasn't called a foul. That was huge. He clearly got whacked in the arm, which caused the turnover. The ref was right near the play!

  6. I also can't believe we got out rebounded. That's sad considering bogut is out. We need to win that battle. No excuses.

  7. The SF position did nothing! We need at least average production from there. That's not asking too much.

  8. Too many missed fts by usually good ft shooters. GS got lucky as they have no control over those misses.

  9. This is only game 1 so we shouldn't get down yet! If we lose game 2 than we're in trouble but I believe we will make adjustments and play a lot better and most importantly win! We played terribly, and still had chances to win. If both GS and us play our A games, we would clearly win.

If this series goes 7, I will by flying up to staples since it's on Saturday. I got a new job and don't have much vacation. Hopefully we can win this sooner than game 7 though. I will try my best to fly up for a home game if it's on the weekend.

I also think that somehow Barnes has to score on curry inside and make him work on defense. Curry first of all is a terrible defender. 2nd, he's extremely weak. 3rd, he's undersized against Barnes, let alone any SG/SF. If Barnes isn't going to take advantage of it, we might as well start granger. There's no way curry can stop granger inside. Plus all the banging down low would wear him out or get him in foul trouble. Somehow we should take advantage of Curry.

It would help a lot if Blake can stay on the court. It's a total mismatch when Lee or Green guards him. That's 30 points a night. With Cp3 working extremely hard on defense against curry or klay, it would take a lot of pressure and the scoring load off him.

I feel like it's much quieter (except the end) than other games yesterday. The Raptors crowd was just insane, OKC fans were loud too.

To the game... Like I've been saying for a long time, inability to hit free throws won't get us far. 12 missed FTs in a close game is waaay too many.

Many people are blaming CP3 missed FT and turnover (I honestly didn't think it was a foul), but he was the only reason we got back into this game, and made a potential game winning steal. The player that should be blamed is Collison, those 2 turnover at the end just killed all the momentum.

No we are not. We are the FAVORITES and should treat this series as such. I bet the players don't think we are the underdogs. I never get the 'underdog' approach when clearly, we are not. Is this just rhetoric or simply to soften the blow in case we loose this series?

I woke up this morning still so disappointed about last night's poorly officiated game and I was trying to think of some silver lining things to remain optimistic that the Clippers will win this series.

I recalled how last year Miami lost by 7 points to the Bulls in the first game of the eastern conference semis, but came out like gangbusters for the second game and won by 37 points in the second game and eventually won the series 4-1.

I hope the same thing happens here for the Clippers. Last night's game was a HUGE wake-up call and they'll be ready to play 5 on 8 (apparently it will be the same awful refs for entire series) the rest of the way, win, and advance.

Even how bad the game was yesterday it was clear to me

Warriors just don't have the firepower to compete

with the clippers in a 7 game series.

I can see this being the only win (Courtesy of NBA Officiating)

that the Whore-iars get.

Look, this team can win there. I still think about the Blake ejection for the no foul but "whoops, we were wrong" so we rescind the "T" 2 days later call and" sorry about the loss" game. This team can win anywhere but if we all want to be in the Finals it shouldn't matter if we are behind one game with 6 to go. We should be able to beat anyone if we are to be the best.

CP3 reminds me of the old Hulk TV show I watched when I was a kid, with Bill Bixby as the star. His line "Don't get me mad, you wouldn't like me when I am mad" remind me so much of CP3. I bet CP3 is mad as hel* today.

I still want to believe, Clips in 6.

A one-game sample size can be misleading, sure.

11 games? Not as much. Hell, even our one win was a nailbiter over a lottery-bound Warriors team.

Nice post lobcityhawaii- repped. Everyone of those points I agree with, especially #6. Warriors love to hoist long jumpers = long rebounds. Guys have to be more ready to grab them. It was frustrating to see the Clippers, so many times, get stops, and yet failed to get the defensive board.

Great to see you back!

We were killing the whenever Griff was on the floor. Then he picked up some absolute BS fouls and had to sit, and of course they came back. What do you expect? I am not buying this "don't blame the refs" crap because that was the main reason we lost (and that's not even talking about the atrocious non-calls at the end in what had been a game of ticky-tack fouls). It is a near certainty that if Blake stays in the game, we win by 10+. Also, SMH, I just saw a reply of the "foul" he got when Jermaine O'Neal tried to dunk it and Blake literally didn't even touch him.

These refs need to be held accountable for their actions.

As many people believe that Blake is 3rd in the MVP voting (much deserving), obviously not having him in the game for 20 extra minutes hurts. It makes common sense that we would have won. We only lost by 4...and 20 more minutes of him most likely is worth more than 4 points. Yup, no debate BS calls.

THANK YOU! This is the best post I've seen here and I'd rep you x1000 if I could but my rep is negative from calling out JQuick32. What people don't get is that fandom is about irrational support for a team and these debbie downers who come in and just bring everyone down with their venting are huge buzzkills. Analyze the game, fine. Criticize things we did wrong, fine. But the moment you go around saying "we have no chance" or "we're just a bunch of chokers" -- whether you believe it or not -- keep it to yourself! If we wanted to read that **** we'd just go the Warriors board! I'd rather hear trash talk from opposing fans than from our own. I can't believe we have to explain this.

Some posters were promising that we would fall to the 4 seed. We didn't. Now they're probably going to say we should have so we wouldn't have to play GS. Some people will never be happy. Even if we win a championship, there will be people here who will still criticize things. Its life. Some people are just natural born haters. Glad to you're an optimistic fan.

Repped High Quality Post

I get Curry and Paul's turnovers, they handle the ball a lot, Curry was blitzed, Paul probably should have gotten at least 1-2 side out of bounds on his rip through and the foul on Green that became a turnover, and in the end, the Clippers total turnovers based on the pace of the game wasn't the worst thing in the world, but I don't even know where DJ's 7 turnovers came from. How did he get 7 this game? I don't remember that many.

You see JQuick, that's why you don't seem to get it. What you keep missing is that superstars have bad moments in games, they have bad games, more than once. They also have good games where they lose, they have great games where they lose. The thing is that the general difference between Paul (superstar) having a bad game and Jamal (borderline All-Star but not quite there type player) is that Paul also grabs rebounds, dishes out assists, plays excellent defense, that's what superstars do. If they are having a bad game scoring, they contribute in other areas, that's what makes them superstars. This idea that because a player gets paid a certain amount they must be perfect in their performance is just plain idiotic.

Look, take away all the stats, everything and it is simple, Paul had mistakes, but all of us that watched could see that Paul on court = Clippers playing better than Warriors, Paul off court = Clippers basically tanking. It was essentially that simple yesterday. Now, if you think he should have played 48 minutes, then I don't know, maybe send Doc a memo.

Last year with no Westbrook, Durant averages 29 PPG on 23 FGA vs Memphis, shoots 42.1% FG and averages 4.4 TOV, there's the superstar numbers. Last year with a basically non existent Blake for the last two games, Paul averages 32/5/6, shoots 55% FG and averages 0.5 TOV. They both still lose. What does that teach us? It takes more than one player, it's hard doing it alone, and even then, you can play great and lose, so even the best need help.

Despite all his Cleveland Lebron heroics and high record regular season teams, Lebron couldn't consistently get to the finals in Cleveland, and let us also understand that if he was playing in the West, he would most likely have been a yearly first or second round exit despite how good he was as a player. There's no Magic to it, one player can only do so much to win games, you just have to finally accept that and move on from it. If you think we should (not whether we can, but should be the expectation) be beating Golden State with Blake playing 19 minutes, then you really don't have much respect for how good they are as a team.

Unless you want to petition for the Clippers to trade places with an East coast team, we're not going to have any walk in the park to the conference finals, sorry.

Remember, Lebron got past the 2nd round twice in Cleveland. His finals appearance in Cleveland? First round: 41-41 Wizards, Second Round: 41-41 Nets, Conference Finals: 53-29 Pistons. Now, if the Clippers had a team equivalent to the Timberwolves in the first and second round, then a team similar to the Rockets or Blazers in the conference finals, well, we'd certainly be the favorites to get to the finals. Instead we have what would be the equivalent of the Spurs that year twice before even sniffing the finals.

The second time he got past the second round? First round: 39-43 Pistons, Second round: 47-35 Hawks. CP's best New Orleans teams would have walked to the conference finals against those teams. Even the Hornets team that lost 4-1 vs Denver in the first round would have had a good chance of getting to the conference finals in 06-07 and 08-09 in the East, but most likely loosing to the Pistons in 06-07 since they had half their team injured. Actually even the Hornets team that lost David West a couple days before the playoffs and lost in 6 to the Lakers could have made it to the conference finals in 06-07.

In the West, it won't be a cake walk, you will lose games, you won't blow out every home game, we really just have to come to terms with that.
