David Lee outscored Blake and out rebounded him 13-3. Yes, minutes were not equal.

Jordan 3-8 on FT. Old news but kills you in a close game. I coached hoop for years and improved kids shots. How DJ is allowed to suck at the line so bad is unreal.

The NBA must address this problem. The refs can foul out any team's star player and virtually fix a game.

There is one solution. Before every game, each team gives the refs the names of three "star" or "franchise" players. And fouls four, five and six called on these players MUST be reviewed by video. This would not add that much time as not all six players will get four fouls. But it will insure that a BG or a Hibbert or a Dirk cannot be ejected on phantom or wrong calls.

I see no other solution to an intolerable situation.

I really could not stand watching this game unfold when it became clear that Blake was going to see very little floor time.

At least Curry had a quiet game while actually on the court. Blake didn't get that luxury.

We proved that we can contain their best player. With 16pts in 19min, Blake proved that only dubious officiating can contain our best player.

My feeling is klay and Steph weren't incredible - yes blake was in foul trouble but they had a lot of stuff going against them and won. We lost. I feel sick. Yep, I said it, warriors with hca is scary

Yes, guarding Curry was practically the only thing we did right.

So who am I more worried about? The Clippers or the Pacers losing by 20+ to the 8th seed Hawks? I'd say I am more worried about the Pacers. The fact that the Clips shut Curry....

Nah, like tennis... 2 challenges per game, per coach to review ANY call and make it right based on the video evidence. If Doc had just called one on the CP3 TO/foul... different game.

I can practically guarantee he'll get hotter at home... but that's fine.

Just average contributions from Blake, Jamal, DC and Barnes will more than cancel him out.

Obviously that was meant for me since you wrote my quote verbatim. I don't think you deserve an explanation but since you called me out, go read back and it's in there. Both quotes you used...VDN and CP3. maybe then, you won't have to ask. lol

That Is why we need a checks and balances system like every other sport. The refs are a totalitarian government. If we go against them we get punished with techs and their never wrong.

I've always advocated for a 4th official on the sidelines...superseding the 3 "umpires". By the time most calls are made and implemented, he/she could have reviewed and made the right call, negating the need for the high-drama, 3-way stroke-fest that is the current review system and it's shitty, rule-restrictive appliance.

I think the NBA are getting there gradually with the new "NBA Central" experiment. But they're tentative to make their officials look silly, hence the restrictions on not being able to make a completely different call (like calling a foul on CP's "turnover").

Doesn't help us today, but maybe we'll benefit from a similar call soon. Be cool if it happens against ref-darlings, OKC.

That's about as likely as LeBron getting his second tech in a game-7 for looking at Durant crosseyed.

Blake just needs to play nice and respectful to the zebras for the 1st Q of the next game, then play his usual way.

No worries. This will not happen again. Blake won't be idiotic in getting foul trouble and Chris Paul will stop with theatrics acts. Clippers should win this series.

I don't really care about the Pacers very much - they're not even in our conference. That is pretty embarrassing for them, though. I was jealous watching Teague - I wish our point guard would be that aggressive in the playoffs instead of just fishing for foul calls that aren't coming. roll

REALLY???

Takes 16 wins to be champions, but only one loss to give up?

Truth is, it probably isn't our year...at least to win it all. We're 11-1 against.

But it also probably isn't Miami's year... or Indiana's year... or San Antonio's year... or OKC's year... according to the bookies, because not one of those teams has an odds-on chance to win.

Indiana just got spanked... they're still 4th favorites to win the chip.

Clippers barely lost... they're still 5th favorites to win the chip.

With your emotional swings, if you were a bookie, you'd be f**king bankrupt!

When did Klay not guard him this game? Klay was on him when he dropped two three's on them, Curry was guarding Collison. Klay has guarded him most of all the games the season, it's nothing new. That still doesn't answer what you expect a 5'11 guy to do about it? He isn't Durant, he can't just shoot over guys or take them in the post, he isn't Lebron, he can't just bulldoze guys to the basket. He isn't even Westrbook who still has like 4 inches on him at 6'3 not to mention the athletic ability.

He can't go take Klay in the post to get easy baskets, he can't magically make him self faster, quicker or able to jump higher, what in the world do you expect him to do? You know how teams combat the switch? The player who the opposition switches off of punishes them.

What do you want him to do because all you seem to be doing having unrealistic expectations...

These is CP's last three playoff games:

35/6/4/3 steals / 1 turnover

28/4/8/1 steal / 0 turnovers

28/7/8/4 steals / 6 turnovers

He's not the guy I'm worried about, it's everyone else on the team. Even if Paul tries to draw fouls all next game (he won't try the rip through a anymore since he isn't getting them) and gets 6 turnovers, if we get just 40% FG combined from the bench three, a lot less than 7 turnovers from DJ and you know, a lot more than 19 minutes from Blake, that's a lot of offensive production for GS to have to match. That's possibly a 115-120 pt scoring game for the Clippers this afternoon.

Although I left the Lakers for the Clippers (call me BaandWagon), I am really surprised at the pervasive negativity regarding the Clippers around here. One lost game, all is lost. Oh, woe is me. One thing you can learn from the Lakers, pre Jim Buss, is that their fans believed they would win even when down 21 points in the fourth quarter. And if they lost, the Lakers fans would knew they would win the next game. Even in losing seasons, I always went to Vegas and put money down for the Lakers to win the chip. Just as I have this year with the Clippers.

I know most of you hate the Lakers; I can respect that. But you can always learn from your enemy.

"Keep you friends close and your enemies closer." Let's steal some 'tude from them. It's more fun that way, win or lose.

As for this series, the Clippers are simply better than the Worriers. Even the refs won't take this series from us. Clippers in six.

That is the attitude I expect here. Especially with a great team!

I'd say it is unlikely but not impossible because against Memphis he averaged 4 fouls in just 26 MPG. I mean the whole team was a hack machine since Memphis shot >30 FTA/G in a slow paced series (hence our defense being horrible)

The Clippers have won a whopping three playoff series in their history. CP3 has never made it past the second round of the playoffs. Of course people are going to be skeptical after an embarrassing chokejob loss to start this series after being backdoor swept in the first round last year - it feels like the "same old Clippers" all over again.

It's a lot easier to believe when you have a bunch of Larry O'Briens in the trophy case. For me and other long-suffering Clipper fans, this team has to earn trust by proving it in the playoffs, not disappointing every year.

Guys, chill out we had 17 turnovers, and Paul missed 2 fts in crunchtime, and we only lost by 4 damn points, you really think we're gonna mess us so bad again? This reminds me of the 1st game of the season, Lakers beat us bad... Clippers will get our sh*t together and we WILL win, and we WILL advance to the 2nd round, to the Conference Finals, to the FINALS, and we WILL WIN IN THE FINALS, and that's the bottom line! CLIPPERS NATION RISE!

Baddmaster, if you say you're a clips fan...then you are. No need to qualify your status on every post. You're a fan when you say you are. I'm pretty sure no one cares if you just jumped on.

By the way, this has nothing to do with perspective. people are just venting. After all, the term fan comes from fanatic. It's just one game and plenty of basketball left but today was a horrible display. You let the guys talking shyte about you take home court away.

I agree... but that's why we're paying Doc the big bucks, right?

#Adjustments

I believe in him. Our players have weaknesses... all players do. I blamed the players for the last 2 years shortcomings and I will continue to blame them.

One won or lost game, or one won or lost series won't convince me that coaching makes a huge difference for a team. If you're a coach in the NBA, you pretty much know what you're doing.

It's up to our players... just as it was last year.

Memphis is shooting 25% FG. Lol. They are spamming the FT line like they did against us, 20 FTA already, but they've only made 9. 9! That's like DJ shooting all 20 FT's.

ESPN Stats & Info ‏@ESPNStatsInfo 5h Through 2:39 in the 3rd Q, Chris Paul is 0-7 with 2 points when guarded by Klay Thompson. He's 6-7 with 16 pts when guarded by anyone else I can't find the final stats that ESPN flashed up on the BottomLine after the game, but they weren't much better than that. Doc needs to figure out better ways....

Does that 26 include the game where he barely played?

Even if it doesn't. 2 more fouls at the same rate puts him at 39 minutes... and for this game, 24 points.

Simplistic as it is... eight more points wins us the game. Not to say that I don't understand that we should be fouling less.

It's not about "struggling with perspective." This franchise has done NOTHING in the postseason in its entire history that would give any rational person confidence. Our so-called superstar, CP3, has also done NOTHING ever in the playoffs. Losing like this is just more of the same, even though this year was supposed to be different. Hard not to be disappointed.
