How can you consider yourself a knowledgeable fan if after 2 playoff games you can't even spell our starting 2 guard's name?

I'm confused, why are you so worried about our arena, our fans and our team? Like why did u even sign up to join this board? A lot of warriors fans must have nothing better to do. You guys shouldn't feel the need to come on this site and prove in which criteria your team or arena or even fans are better than ours. Let the game and the players do the talking. No one gives a f*** about what you warrior fans think on here, well I sure as hell don't. I come on here to support my team and talk about the game with FANS of OUR team, so my question is why are you here on this forum and not on the Warriors? That's the thing with you Warriors fans, a lot of you do irrational weird sh*t and are more worried about other teams than than YOUR OWN.

Repped High Quality Post

SECOND most loyal, actually... right behind Clippers fans.

"A study designed for The Wall Street Journal by sports-reference.com, an Internet sports database, looked at NBA teams' attendance for the past 10 seasons. It then weighed certain factors like city population, arena capacity, prior winning percentage and whether there are other, competing teams in the same market. By those measures, Clippers fans are the most devoted, while Golden State Warriors fans are in second place."

http://online.wsj.com/news/articles/SB1 ... 4136299794

And that study was conducted just before we started selling out every single game for 3 years. Very Happy

Congratulations on the runner-up spot. I have a feeling I'll be repeating that statement after another 3 or 4 games.

Air,

I have already explained why I enjoy posting here, but I will share with you a post I sent yesterday since you missed it. Here it is:

I've been a lifelong Warriors fan, and there is another Warriors site that I frequent. My favorite watering hole, if you will. [So, AirG, I do visit Warriors sites, and I must say that the intellectual discourse there is highly recommended. You would find it a revelation, I think.] This is my first visit to another team's territory. I'm here because I really loath the Clippers and their whole schtick and thought it would be interesting to converse with their fans. At the Warriors blog I visit, someone dropped a link to to this site to a thread about the officiating at Saturday's game. The poster was amused by the Clipper fan reaction, so I decided to stop by and say hey to Clipper fans.

I have to say, in the heat this rivalry, I am enjoying my time here. I find that the fans are a reflection of their team. That doesn't speak very well for you guys, but that's ok. No one is perfect.

Why they call the Warriors "Dubs" anyway?

Guys, leave him alone. He just wants to cheer on his Dubbies. Don't you guys remember when the Clippers sucked, and it was always a big event where we'd have to get up for a good team? Remember the Earl Boykins game where we beat the dynasty Lakers? Remember when Maggette outdueled Kobe? It's like that. Game 1 was surely the highlight of his whole year and something he can tell his grandkids one day. Game 2 maybe not so much, but, you know, over time you can kind of massage the truth to make the story better?

AirG,

The funny thing is, I don't actually see a lot of real conversation here. Over at the Warrior sites, our fans are arguing over the things that Mark Jackson failed to do in game 2. They are also critiquing players and dissecting moments of the game. I have seen very little of that kind of discussion here. Is the mindset of this community to just affirm everything and wave pom poms? I have to believe that there are deeper discussions here, but I have not seen that kind of interaction in the past two days, my own musings notwithstanding. I will wait and see if something develops.

I would love to share my perspective with Clipper fans, and hear theirs.

Warriors!

That's awesome! I never knew!

Has there been an updated study of NBA fans recently? Since the study was done 3 years ago, it only means that our fans have gotten better and we're probably first by a mile now!

There is no point discussing strategy here because you guys are hopelessly overmatched. Basically if you get our guys in foul trouble, maybe you have a chance. If you don't, it's just a matter of if we beat you by 10 (just show up) or 40 (try).

When you win a playoff game over a hated rival by 40 points, pom-poms are going to be waved. Deal with it.

By the way, the real best crowd in the NBA is chanting "**** Brooklyn" right now after their GM got fined for saying it during Game 1. T-Dot makes the Boreacle look like the stone-silent crowd at a Lakers game.

Want some deep conversation? Let's talk about how the Clippers have managed to completely shut down Curry and Thompson. Fire evaporates water. Splash brothers were dry as sh*t while Clippers were on FIRE!!!

True. But that fire will be extinguished soon. And remember, CP3Best, that the Warriors have already beaten the Clippers once in this series with neither having played a great game. And they will not be held back moving forward. The will most likely hit their stride in the friendly confines of Oracle, and at that point the series will shift.

And you know that how? Nice try. I actually have to respect Oracle as I go to almost every Clippers game up here. The crowd is really into the game for the most part. But, I guarantee you that will change when they move to SF.

LOL at that dump they're building being "the jewel of arenas."

Madison Square Garden and Staples Center will always be the best arenas in the NBA. This Warrior troll is truly delusional.

Gotta love Warrior "fans" hyping up Lacob now, too. Last I checked, that "great crowd" was booing the **** out of him during Chris Mullin's jersey retirement because he traded Monta freaking Ellis.

And just what do you suggest we critique, dissect and complain about after the largest margin of victory in the playoffs by any team in 4 years?

Give me 40-point victories and pom-pom waving over humiliating defeats and hand-wringing any day of the week.

That game was close to perfect on both sides of the ball. Encouraging but we need to win Thursdays game. Warriors seem fired up which makes me bervous. We need to fight like it's an elimination game. I think if we somehow win game 3 warriors will fold

I hope "bervous" means "extremely confident" because you should be: the Warriors are practically a D-league team. What I'm wondering is if we should just rest Reddick & Crawford to 1) keep them fresh for OKC and 2) just make the game a bit more interesting to watch.

Ok, ups to you, Clipnasty, for making the trip up to the Oracle once in awhile. That's what I call a fan. But I'm not sure how you can guarantee that the move will temper the fan base. There is no evidence to suggest that will happen. The Bay Area is an affluent community (trust me the diehards will be able to afford the tickets), and it is also a basketball enclave. People love their hoops here, and the Warriors are the only game in town. Mark my words: the new stadium will not muffle the enthusiasm and passion at the games.

They were fired up last night and lost by 40. You can tell when they're fired up because it means they're resorting to cheap tactics like throwing elbows.

That would lead one to wonder why you would return. Unless of course, you just prefer the overall vibe of associating with the best team in California to that "so close, but so far" feeling associated with being a runner-up.

If you want to be a Clippers fan, it's OK, you can. I won't tell.

Perspective.

Maybe the calls were fair last game but maybe in LAC favor BUT remember that in the past the calls against us were so bad that the league apologized. A blow to the throat can be lethal. In other words whoever could have killed BG. If his hyoid bone is broken and his larynx swells he dies in a matter if minutes unless someone can perform an emergency tracheotomy. Since the ref's bias has been exposed maybe this was payback

The LAC are arguably the best team in the NBA. The Heat and OKC have played together for a few years. The squad you are seeing has played together for two games. Paul, Granger, Reddick, Crawford all injured for multiple games. Granger has played maybe five. We have new guys Baby and Danny who don't even know Doc's system yet. According to almost everybody BG is the third best player in the league. Jamal is in the running for 6th Man of the year. DJ is #3 DPOY, Granger has been an all star. Reddick is one of the best catch and shoot players in the NBA. Collison could start for half the teams in the NBA. Doc has a ring which Jackson has not.

Unless somebody has a blindfold there is no way you can compare these two teams. Home court or not after three games and if Jamal heats up there is one player in the league we have to fear. Durant and one team. The Spurs. The battle between us and you will be a battle of coaches, who can get the best out of their squad. Doc has proven he can.

iIn response to Jquick on Jackson and Rivers.

Sadly, you are right. I guess even a broken clock is right twice a day. Kidding. Adam Lauridsen who has a Warriors blog on the San Jose Mercury News wrote about Jackson after yesterday's debacle. I still can't drop a link here as I am new, but it is an excellent article worth reading if you have any interest in Jackson. Google "Fast Break Blog" and his thread on Jackson will appear at the top of his home page. Check it out.

My absolute favorite part of that Jackson quote is the very beginning: "Um, You won't hear this from anybody else, but..." like he's about to drop something deep and enlightening, but he just can't fathom that even if others in his position feel the same way, they are smart enough to know that admitting it is professional suicide.

It's like your restaurant waiter standing there with a sh!t-eating grin and saying: "Um, You won't hear this from anybody else, but we wipe our knobs all over the dinner plates" ...with all the pride of having informed you of something he knew and you didn't, but no concept of the possible consequences of opening his mouth.

This may be the George W. Bushiest statement I've heard since the ex-president himself left office. And like Bush, I don't know whether I should admire the stones of the man or fear for his sanity.

The warriors beat the clippers without playing a good game true, but remember the circumstances of game 1: Blake only playing limited minutes (19), Danny Granger playing his first game and being rusty. So you can also say that the Clippers did not play their best game and the Warriors barely got by them.

Fast forward to Game 2. Blake Griffin plays full minutes and Granger shakes off the rust...the result, a 40 point blowout.

Game 3 will not be another rout. In fact, it will be a hard fought game and series. But to play the home court card as if your home games were a shoe in for a win is no guarantee.

ah, good old dubya. There's a reference I haven't heard of in a good while. The Warriors cockiness at winning game one was parallel to George W. Bush giving the infamous speech with a banner reading "mission accomplished" right behind him. Two weeks later little Bush started receiving word that perhaps the Iraqi insurgents didn't quite agree with that banner. After game 2's massacre the Warriors are now realizing (as I'm sure George W. started to when **** hit the fan in Iraq) a war is not won in one battle. Sometimes it's best to not jump to conclusions like the Warriors fans are Smile

Curry was held in check that game. Last night anytime a GSW player had the ball he was immediately swarmed by a Clipper. That was one difference between game 1 and game 2. The level of defense even got to Curry who threw his mouthpiece in frustration. If we keep that up we can win this series
