Nobody's jumping at the first guy. The reality is that it'll probably come down to Magic's group vs. Geffen's group at the end of the day, and really, that's a win-win. Trying to apply wacko conspiracies to it is just a waste of time and overthinking it.

Magic wouldn't be doing either one - as he's shown with the Dodgers, he doesn't have the time or desire to be a day-to-day owner.

So unless you're thinking that Mark Walter will either turn the Clippers into a billion-dollar farm team or run them based on emotions, your point here is unfounded.

As we have learned recently, there can only be one "controlling" owner. As long as that's Walter and not Magic Johnson, I'll live with it... though I'd still prefer him not to be the public face of the team. Quite frankly, he's a manipulative, self-aggrandizing populist with a very big mouth. I'd like the new face of our franchise to be a little more low-key than that.

What's wacko about what Sterling said about magic? There is no conspiracy in that. What's wacko about Magic lying to gullible people like you about having no interest in the team and then come out saying he is? After other more prominent people came forward showing interest. What's wacko about Magic already trying to get Sterling to sell prior to this happening and being turned down? What's wacko about Magic saying he would never come to a Clippers game as long as Sterling is owner and then showing up while Sterling is still the owner?

Like I said, I've been 100% correct in this even before Sterling opened his mouth about Magic calling him pretending to be his friend. Sorry, the facts are not conspiracy theories.

Sterling is butthurt that he has now lost the fake importance and fame he thought he had from owning the Clippers, and he's just lashing out at Magic as a result.

Geffen also tried to get Sterling to sell before this happened and got turned down. Whoops, guess he's off the list now. What's left for "clean," clipper*joe approved owners?

I think we have completely different views on Magic's involvement of the situation. For instance lets say hypothetically Magic is behind all of this (which is a high probability) I would say Magic still did the right thing and I actually thank him for what he did.

I don't care how you take the trash out, as long as it gets taken out. Sterling was the trash, and Magic did what he had to do to get rid of him.

Personally, I'd love to have an owner that is willing to do whatever it takes to get what he wants.

Dude it's been evident you have some weird hate obsession with Magic, a man you don't even know might I add. Magics an all around great guy and there are plenty of repectable people who vouch for that. Get over it.

Speaking of conspiracies, I'm afraid NBA might want to get rid of us right away, I mean Playoffs, to keep this whole fiasco from ruining NBA's image. They didn't do sh*t to Ibaka, which leads me to believe the league really favors OKC.

It has nothing to do with us, the league just babies OKC. They rigged the Western Conference Finals against the Spurs a couple years ago and they rigged the Memphis series last round.

Geffen made an offer that was turned down and he walked away.

He didn't get himself involved in a scandal with the current owner's b!tch (which he may or may not have orchestrated), then proceed to turn up the volume on that scandal by demanding his ouster from the league all over any TV station that would listen.

Their situations are a little different. Your comparison is asinine.

I'm am watching the CNN interview that Anderson Cooper had with DTS. You can tell Sterling has a disdain for Magic, and I can see why. Here is a guy that was at the center of the fiasco and now arises as a bidder for the ownership of this team. Magic has a role in this for ill.

Yup. I used the word "Machiavellian" the minute Magic started demanding Sterling be banned, and I stick by it.

I do not want him anywhere near our team.

On sunday they put the camera on Magic, he was in the audience hobnobbing with celebrities, I clapped for him to show that he is welcome at Staples..but that is as far as I go with support for Magic. If he really wants to show his heart is in the right place he will step aside from ownership attempts and help the Clippers organization in other ways

on the bright side these comments by Sterling have lead Adam Silver to put more of a sense of urgency on removing Sterling.

Congrats to Clipper Nation, who may just see the sale of this franchise even quicker than expected

On a personal level, no. The man has done a lot of good for the communities surrounding Los Angeles. He is a great role model and wonderful human being. That being said even good people do bad things. Magic is in the wrong regarding the way he has handled this situation. He needs to step away from this process all together. Out of respect he should not pursue ownership of this team and if he cares about this franchise he should start by trying to convince the players on this squad to stay with the club.

Anytime Magic's name came out during the Anderson Cooper interview Sterling was triggered. Everyone who thinks Magic is clean in this scenario watch the interview (and I'm not saying DTS isn't racist, or that he shouldn't have the team stripped from him), but according to Sterling Magic knew about the recording and assured Sterling he was going to help him, and he told Sterling to wait. It looks like old Magic was setting this up. My guess is when Magic heard this tape he heard cash droors ringing, a "aha! gotcha" moment that would give Magic an opportunity to gain ownership.

If this was the worst case of all the groups that are in the biding for the Clippers and Magic's team ends as the winner, it'll still be a 1000% better.

I'm hoping it'll end up being the group lead by Mr Geffin, but no more of The Donald...it's a win win either way.

Yeah, I guess if you have a psycho as your landlord, when a con-man steals the house from him it's "better". Personally, I'd rather have the justice system lock up the psycho and somebody nice just buy the house legally.

I'd much prefer Geffen, too.

Well, I think all the Magic talk of him trying to "steal or force" the Donald to sale the Clippers is all in ones own mind set. No one knows for sure...circumstantial/here-say.at best.

If anyone should have never been anywhere near this team, if was definitely The Donald. Oh well, better late then never.

LOL! A man I don't know? Hey hypocrite, what are your very next words after telling me I don't know him?

"Magics an all around great guy". So now you know him and plenty of other respectable people can vouch for you? I swear to god, you can't make this **** up. I can understand contradiction in a long rant but you sir, get the prize for stepping in **** before you actually take a step. Good going there, Champ.

It must be in Sterling's mind too cause he actually got a call from him and felt the same way. I wonder what made him feel that way. Just say'n.

The meltdown on here will be hysterical if Magic's group buys the team. Something tells me all the conspiracy theories would disappear at the sight of LeBron smiling and holding his new Clippers jersey next to Magic at the press conference.

How about this: instead of assuming the worst of anyone who wants to buy the team, why not be happy that so many people with tons of money are wanting to buy our team? I just want ownership that is financially sound, committed to winning and is adept at promoting the franchise in a positive light. I don't care if it's Magic or someone else.

Clearly Sterling already hated Magic before that, as evident from the original recording that started all this, so of course he's going to reach for that conspiracy in a pathetic attempt to deflect.

There's absolutely no doubt Magic has used his very public forum to tamper in this whole business from the beginning (whenever that was, for him). That alone should exclude him from consideration of being the new owner.

He's a public figure and he's going to be interviewed so what was he supposed to say no comment? If Magic DID intensify the situation, then good. I've been waiting for 15 years to get rid of the worst owner in all sports to go away. Now it's happening and i am excited.

Sterling is a jackass and I don't feel sorry for him if he gets taken advantage like I don't feel sorry for rapist and pedophiels that gets butt r*** in prison.

Nobody should care that a savvy business man did what he had to do to potentially acquire the hottest basketball franchise in the 2nd biggest market in the U.S.

Not only should we not care that he used this tactic, we should be excited about what this tactic shows about his character and desire to get what he wants.

I want an owner who will do whatever it takes to get a Championship for the Clippers. I don't want a owner who will sit back and patiently wait for things to fall into their lap.

Of course they'd pick Sterling over Magic "Bad Influence" Johnson.

The thing is, you're making this about Donald... he's gone, period.

Now if there were an option to jump in a DeLorean and prevent him from ever becoming owner, your case may have some validity... but this is here and now and we're talking about who should be the NEW owner.

On the one hand, we have a queue of billionaires, most of whom have equal access to publicity as Magic Johnson, but who have chosen to be very discreet about the NBA's proceedings except to say that the Clippers are a very attractive business proposition for them. On the other hand, we have Magic, who has utilized every tool at his disposal since the tape was leaked (and possibly even earlier) to steer the entire discussion toward his own beneficial ends.

I question the character of anybody who would do such a thing, and balk at the idea of us finally having the opportunity to get a new owner, and ending up with one of questionable character.

Big hole in your argument. Are we not in title contention right now? Say the story never broke and things were "same as usual". What if we won a title? Forget that, say we win a title this season. Ask yourself who is responsible. Here is another one for you. Say we lost to the Warriors because the story broke and it weighed down the players, staff, and fans. Would you still feel "excited" about a potential owner who's tactics are "character" building because his desire is to get what he wants? I don't know about you but to me, that is one helleva selfish person with questionable character.

Look mate, we seem to be beating a dead horse here. I've said who would I prefer, but IF Magic's group ends up being the winner, fine. The rest is He said, he said. No one knows for sure what's Magic's motives were. It's all a "guess" and all for the better in the end.

Donald THE OWNER has been incredible these last few years and I've been open about that ever since we got CP. Donald THE PERSON has always been a sh*tty scumbag and has made me embarrassed to be a Clippers fan at times. Donald's open pockets are the reason we are in title contention right now. Donald's open mouth is the reason we almost lost everything that this team has built over the last few years.

To answer your second question. This situation is bigger than just a playoff series against the Warriors. Donald is a walking crime against humanity and I'd gladly take ONE lost season and a chance for a new owner than have a chance at a title but still have Sterling own this team knowing what I know now.

What Magic did in my eyes was a necessary and much needed move. And I don't think we see eye-to-eye on that, but that's fine.

Savvy businessmen do similar things on Wall Street all the time... using the inside track to get what they want. They call it insider-trading and it's against the law. And tampering is against NBA rules.

It's self-evident. Regardless of if he was behind the tape, publicly calling for the head of the current owner while expressing an interest to buy is tampering.

I get that, but to be totally honest what you just said kinda made me want Magic even more. You'll never find an "honest" billionaire on Wall Street.

If Magic has to "not meet with LeBron outside the free agency window" and "not offer him money under the table" just to get LeBron to sign with the Clippers, then I'm gonna say we picked the right outlaw to run our team.

I thought we were talking about the Owner, not the person. Now you want to make it about the person? By the way, you didn't directly answer any of the questions I posed. You deflected and made it about crimes against humanity.

So you have selective moral outrage? So you want an outlaw as a owner now? I want someone that wants to run a business by the rules. I want an owner who wants this team for the right reasons and isn't interested in becoming a sideshow. I don't want an owner using my team as a trophy or conquest. I want a owner who is happy behind the scenes putting out the best product out for the fans. I want a owner who will see this as a venture where he has distance from his personnel, not chumming it up with the players. And I surely don't want an owner who is eagerly breaking bi-laws to bring in players. But more than anything, I don't want the face of this franchise to be a minority owner that's basically a middle man.

In short, I want a owner who will not overshadow the franchise.
