Maybe all it takes is for our fans to have faith in our team.

If our players know we are good enough to win, and our fans know we are good enough to win, we should win. The latter may effect the former of those two scenarios.

Maybe the reason we are playing a game 7 is because Warriors fans have faith when they are cheering for their team at Oracle.

If this team isn't superior to the warriors than we shouldn't even be talking

about contending for a title.

No one in their right mind would consider the Warriors especially without Bogut

a title contender.

Its not even a question which team is superior. Clippers are the superior team talent wise, coaching wise, depth wise. Hell we have the two best players AND more depth. Warriors are in it because they have us beat handily in the intangibles. Heart, effort, cohesion, mental fortitude... They have over us. When you have the edge in those, it neutralize s superior talent at times.

It's going to come down the the wire, and that's where stars take over. Hopefully Chris and Blake can dominate and help us advance.

They'll prove that tonight, whether it's was in 4 games or 7.

Hopefully we can start to be a real contender and get to the WCF's 1st.

At very least, based on talent and coaching alone, we should be taking the Thunder - a two-man team with the worst coach remaining in the playoffs - to 7 games, if not beating them. Another first-round exit or second-round embarrassment will only show that this team hasn't improved one iota and serious questions would need to be raised about the core of our team. We've changed the coach, we've changed the role-players, and we're still seeing the same old results when it matters so far.

I agree. Even as he was putting up better stats this year, I was nervous for him come playoff time. He has shown for most of this series that he's ready to take the next step. Of course, Bogut isn't playing, so if we advance, the second round will be his first real test.

Ok, so IF we lose to the Thunder or? in the next round you'll be satisfied as long as it went the full 7 games. Sounds reasonable and fair minded.

What nobody is talking about is that tonight may be Ralph Lawler's final game. He's strongly considered retirement the last 3 years. If we go out early again, after the Sterling drama especially, this may be it. It would be the most devastating summer ever to again be out in first round, despite most talented team ever.... Combined with Lawler retiring.

For me its either pushing Thunder/Grizzlies to 7 next series and oer making the WCF at least.

JQuick32

That's my minimum expectation. Even if we do lose in 7, that would at least demonstrate some progress from the last two years.

Losing in the first round again, though, is a disaster and would necessitate major changes in the team.

That's what I'm scared of man. Doc had to go downtown YESTERDAY and talk to

the Clippers Organization because the staff have been disheartened

after the Sterling Fiasco.

I don't know man. After years of heartache of beating a clippers fan

I came into the playoffs excited as ever, certain this our year... Now I might

just need therapy after all this.

I'm actually glad he did that. It shows he's not going to quit on us and that he's one of the best leaders in the NBA. As far as the timing goes, people would complain about that no matter when he did it.

If Grizzlies pull this off with no Zach Randolph and a hobbled Conley they

Deserve to go the the finals.

To get out rebounded consistently by "small-ball" is pathetic no matter how you spin it. Only DJ and CP3 are rebounding well.

Repped High Quality Post

No, I'll seriously be happy with actual progress. That's what I want to see after seeing this team take a step back last year.

I think we can beat OKC, but even just a good showing will give this team confidence and something to build on. That being said, lose this game and it's all for naught.

Yeah, I expect Blake to be a monster on the boards tonight along with DJ. Hopefully Barnes and at least one other wing player can contribute on the boards as well.

I agree about Blake and Matt, but don't expect too much from our SG's as they are all below average in that department.

The Clippers will be fine in this game! I have looked at Game 6 again. Clippers shot what like under 30% in the paint and still lost by one! I will be disappointed if we are....

I couldn't care less about getting offensive rebounds, BUT if we allow offensive rebounds all night long I will be livid.

"Defensive Rebounds! Defensive Rebounds! Defensive Rebounds!"

That should be Doc's pre-game speech.

Clippers and Tense you're walking the thin line of joking/trolling here with this bet thing. I haven't seen anything to suggest Quick is as unreasonable as you're making it sound. Everybody here has a right to their opinion and for that opinion to be respected.

Dude, he's been warned by David multiple times this series for trolling. Matter of fact, he's on his last chance, so I suggest he stays away from posts like this...

JQuick32 wrote:
Exactly. Ironically, being happy with another first-round exit like many "fans" in here seem to be is in fact more negative than I could ever be.

NOBODY is happy with first round outs, and suggesting they are and putting their fanhood in quotes because they disagree with him is walking a thin line.

Sure sounds like some people are with how they were prematurely making excuses for the first round exit ("Clippers aren't the better team," "remember how we used to suck?," etc.).

Then why don't you start a poll?

Something along the lines of "Which would you prefer... 1st round exit, 2nd round exit, WCF exit, Finals exit or championship?"

...just to prove your point.

Cleepers I didn't see his encounters with David, doesn't change my point. Which is... Posts like yours and Tense's do nothing but divide the board further and cause people to group up. Its getting old to have the more optimistic fans pull the fan card from the more critical fans every single year come playoff time. People react to stress differentl, and as long as it's within forum rules, should not be judged.

I'm speaking from the perspective of a so called lesser fan due to my critical take on the team at times. I can guarantee I've poured more of my heart and soul into this team than most fans, so it's bogus that if I gripe about concerns, I'm not a true fan. After 15 years of almost straight miserable events, I've earned the right to complain IMO. I'm not fickle like a one year fan who quits the first time things get bad.

I'm not even predicting a loss or saying we are done. Just voicing valid concerns about our current staying and saying how awful it would be IF we lose this one. Its the game thread, perfectly on topic.

Cleepers is far from on thin ice. I said they were walking the line between trolling/joking. Cleepers is a big contributor on this board and I've always been a fan of his stuff.

You've absolutely earned the right to complain... I just wonder if a few hours before our team has the opportunity to advance is the best time. There'll be plenty of time for that if your worst fears are realized.

And, you've admitted on more than one occasion to being somewhat bipolar when you're nervous before and during games.

Maybe my reaction to stress is to make jokes, so I shouldn't be judged either. JQuick could have easily been banned for that post, but I didn't even bring it up. It's not fair of you to just side with those you agree with.

Like I said, just keep it objective.

Go Clippers!

117-103 - Bring on OKC.

Talking about how we used to suck isn't making an excuse at all. It's just crazy to think about how far we've already come as a franchise. Do I really have to explain how getting to the playoffs makes me HAPPIER than us completely sucking? To put it simply, I'd rather be the race and lose than not even be in it to begin with. I was just speaking in relative terms earlier. I'll be just as heart broken as anyone if we do bow out early tonight.

And you were the one who said you like to see progress, right? Well, I call going from conference bottom feeders to 3 straight playoff appearances in a tough western conference, progress. We're both talking the same thing.

With that all this said, I already stated that I have a lot of faith in this team to win tonight and go far beyond the 2nd round.

Tense I addressed what I saw. Not playing favorites, didn't give out any warnings. Just saying in general this positive vs negative fan thing needs to stop occurring every year. Its time to respect our differences. Nobody here has taken it too far yet, just trying to avoid future drama.
