We still have to get past OKC and the Spurs still have to get past the Blazers.

Looked like a huge weight came off our shoulders after that Warriors series, our offense looked so fluid. I think we like being the underdog sometimes

I never realized how good the Warriors defense was until tonight watching OKC.

They should've doubled Blake early on. Now they can't because of how good CP was tonight. CP is now public enemy #1 for OKC.

Kenny is the ultimate Clipper hater. He was giddy when the Warriors took game 1. And then he had the audacity to diminish the Clippers monstrous game 2 win. He later bitches about the lack of foul calling against the Clips in game 3. He later thinks the Clips would not win game 5 at home with all the emotions going through. He then picks against the Clippers if everyone was playing their best on game 7.

When Ernie and Chuck asked him how the series is gonna turn out between the Thunder and Clips, no shock, he picked Thunder and "it'll be over in a hurry." When they asked him how fast it'll end, he had the balls to say it'll end in game 1.

Keep winning, Clippers. Keep shoving it in Kenny's face. The less he smiles, the more I do.

He had a better game than Durant but did a poor job facilitating and played poor D.

Durant put up pretty much empty stats though.

This series isn't over and they'll probably win a couple but I think we played a better team in the first round.

I want game 2 so bad now just to send a strong statement to the league. Would be the perfect event if Blake went insane for like 40-10-10 in a win. I'll take any win now though.

The Clippers can't get too over-confident. I mean, the Warriors won game 1 at Staples and then ended up losing the series. Game 2 is a must win for the Clippers. Gotta be greedy in the playoffs if you want to be a contender.

If you had the game on mute, you'd think that the Clippers were the home team with all the blue shirts in the crowd.

Oh yeah... it's a LONG way from over. The beauty of this victory is what it could do for our psyche (and theirs) in a possible game 7. That said, we need to go balls-out to win game 2 and really break their spirit.

I think we take this one at home in 6.

The person who made the call for the blue shirt giveaway is hiding under A HUGE ROCK!!!!

Or Doc was smart enough to see the last game and thought about it and asked for the road blues!!

The difference to me in this game is the way GS guarded CP as oppose as to how OKC does it.

Klay is a taller more mobile defender who was always on CP (granted he got away with hand checking and other things).

As athletic as RW is, he can not keep CP at bay. RW is not guarding CP up close and personal. Thabo is FREAKISHLY long but is slow and can not stay in front of CP.

Another thing is BG at the top of the key. He may not score on bunches but he is an outlet for Paul. They didn't do this enough in the GS series.

CP is running more freely and the biggest difference to me is, HE is not spending countless amount of energy staying in-front of RW as he did with Curry.

Beautifully said. They learned and took a lot from that 7 game series with the Warriors! They promoted some good in all of this! Haha

I saw the clippers utilize the high pick n roll from Game 7 a lot to free him up and to just spread the floor! It may be unstoppable the way the clippers moved the ball, all they would need to do is shoot like how we did tonight for the rest of series hahahah

We won with Westbrook shooting well, that is a plus. He may not have another solid game from the field again. Paul was due for a big game eventually (injury or not).

Was it this one? I personally like how he initially calls for the ball back, then just slumps his shoulders when he doesn't get it. Source: ClipsNation.com

Why does Doc keep Granger shooting those corner threes: He hasn't made one in two or three games. Doc~s going to Gomesafy him. He needs some short jumpers. We need him. Confidence shooting may make him less foul prone. How about layups.

Everybody was blaming our win on Paul's threes. Do some math. We didn't need them.

Cause normally he has good statistics with corner threes. But yes he need some jumpers , has only one layup. Its tough to train someone confidence in a playoff game. ^^

I would try it again. Normally he is good when he hit his first shot. Wink

1st Quarter

The first quarter started off by an aggressive offensive start by the Clippers. A 6-3 run in the first set the tone for the Clippers lead. As I had predicted in other threads the Clippers potent offense was sparked primarily from lobs to Jordan from Blake. Aside from distributing, Blake was making great shots off the glass. Redick was a nuisance on the defensive end and forced some turnovers, which lead the Clippers to go on an 8-0 run. Paul began to dominate early and was 5/5 from beyond the arc. He closed the first quarter with 17 points. It's no surprise that we lead by 39-25 after one quarter. His involvement and decision to be aggressive is the main reason we had the lead, and it is also a reason why some continue to criticize Paul. We see how valuable he is to this team when he decides to be the aggressor.

2nd quarter

During the second quarter the team has enough of a cushion and inserts the bench. I was somewhat disappointed in Granger. He started the quarter badly. He missed three shots and committed three fouls. To boot he didn't do all that great on the defensive end as he allowed Nick Collison to get an easy layup. Still he seemed to pick up his game and drew a foul from beyond the arc. Darren Collision seemed to do a great job when he was in. He was able to get others involved and kept the offense going. He found Davis for 2, and as for his own offensive game he uses that speed to make two sick floaters. For a minute I thought I was watching Tony Parker. While Crawford didn't start off too well his knowledge of the game allowed him to draw two fouls and contain the lead. One of the benefits of Crawford is that even if his shot is off he is a master at drawing the foul and keeps us in the game.

3rd quarter

In the 3rd Griffin continues to find DJ for another lob. I think I saw about two lobs to DJ in this quarter. This quarter did have a little of a scare Ibaka began holding DJ, and I think the tension starts to brew among the big men. We can see this reach a boiling point when Ibaka kicks Griffin. While I wasn't too happy about Ibaka's kick the replay showed that he was indeed baited by Griffin. This is exactly the thing you don't want to see in the series. Even though this one goes in our favor, these types of fouls will eventually be caught and called against you. Brooks try's a new strategy at one point and begins hack a DJ. The strategy proves too cumbersome and Brooks abandons it. As I reflect on this game I begin to see now why Golden State and Memphis resort to getting us in foul trouble and slowing the game down, when we play our game our team can get to an incredible lead.

4th quarter

By the fourth quarter the starters are out. Doc wisely gets Bullock some burn, and even Dudley makes a solid 3. Great win by our squad

That's not what Kenny meant. He didn't want to say how many games the series would go to and when pushed repeatedly to name a number he just said a number that didn't make sense ie 1. He could have just as easily said 24.

Just got a notification from my NBA gametime app that Durant won MVP and it made me smile. As long as he keeps suffering his personal inferiority complex regarding LeBron and chasing individual honors, a real team will always be capable of beating him. We saw it on show in the ASG and hopefully it'll continue through this series.

Whoever wins game 3 has a huge advantage statically to win the series. I'd say that's the "must" win.

Ah, that's what happens when you shoot 55% from the field.

The Warriors primary and secondary defended played a whole lot better. Thompson pressured Paul to not give him space and angles, OKC let him see the floor and see the court, and he diced them up. Warriors secondary defenders were quick to get to Paul and Green was very mobile. OKC's secondary defenders were slower to the ball and stayed back a bit.

I expect to see a change in that next game, and then I'd hope for the other guys, mainly Blake who will then facilitate to step up and make OKC pay as the defense should be stretched more if they are pressuring the ball harder..

Shouldn't it be the opposite? You grab the majority of your rebounds on defense, so if you shoot well and the opponent worse. the opposition should grab more offensive rebounds, but you should win the rebound battle.

Here's who I'm not worried yet. If you look at the guys who got their offensive rebounds, their starters got three. It was Perkins, Lamb, Jones and Collison grabbing the offensive rebounds. Clippers did give up an awful 37.5% offensive rebounds to OKC, which means we only grabbed a poor 62.5% defensive rebounds, but since it was mainly from the guys playing against the bench, I'm not too bothered.
