Former Citicorp and Time Warner executive, I hope he don't screw Clippers management and fans.

Well let's see,I have to pay 4 bucks a month to Direct TV for a channel I don't watch ,the Faker channel. I have not seen my Dodger play anymore thanks to TWC and Direct TV having a wiener wagging fight with each other. So no more Dodger baseball. I can't see USC football home game because Direct won't pay 40 cents a month for the Pac-12 channel (although I am always there,it's the principle). And now , and soon, the Clippers deal with Fox is about up and time to re-negotiate.

YOu can smell this a mile a way. The new Clipper owners (if DTS and Shelly die quickly) will negotiate a 2 billion dollar contract with TWC and there goes the Clippers unless you have TWC. Talk about a sports monoploy. The only thing left will be Angel baseball, and of course the Faker channel.

Guys he hasn't been connected to Time Warner for 7 years. He's not even well-liked there due to his strong support with the disaster of a merger with AOL.

...plus Time Warner Cable is actually no longer part of the Time Warner corporation, hasn't been since 2009. In fact, Time Warner Cable is getting ready to bought by Comcast.

He won't be making any big decisions. Just the day-to-day stuff. He's basically the NBA's inside man who will make sure the franchise remains a functional business until it's sold.

Glad to see that the NBA appointed a seasoned executive to oversee the Clippers organization. Doc, being the head of ALL basketball operations, is what the Clippers need going forward.

Now if only someone can get rid of all the Sterlings pronto in one fell swoop, that would be welcome news. I'm getting annoyed with Shelly Sterling's posturing. She's as much a racist as her husband and no amount of denial on her part is going to change facts. Those discrimination lawsuits against her and her husband and the accompanying video of her posing as a health inspector to gain illegal access to her tenants' apartments point a very vivid picture of who this old beyotch really is and she's rotten to the core, just like her philandering husband. Time for her to go. Time for ALL Sterlings to go.

That was my thought too when I saw him. ON purpose? Or the best guy available? Either way our team should like it and that is what counts, not what we think.

Looks like Magic may have some connections with this guys or he is giving an endorsement to a guy who will work for him. Deal maybe being made under the table.

I am going to sell a solid gold puke bucket to Jim Buss as he is probably vomiting 24/7 at the thought of all the Lakers greats -- Phil, Magic, Kareem and others -- he has alienated, making them enemies.

When I was active on Laker Topbuzz (you can look it up) I said there was a good chance for the Clippers to overtake the Lakers as Los Angeles' number one team. (Not worldwide; the Lakers clearly have a prohibitive lead in foreign marketing.) I was roundly mocked -- even hated -- for that prediction.

Obviously, I could not have seen the DTS fiasco and its fallout. It was more about people and events moving very fast in the Internet world. The unthinkable can rapidly become the thinkable in this electronically interconnected world.

Regardless of how the events unfolded, if Magic were to take over the Clippers -- with his charisma and the Guggenheim BANK -- this looks less and less like the predictions of a maniac.

I think there is one foolproof indicator of a L.A. hoops "reversal of fortune." If you see Jack Nicholson court side for the Clippers, "Game Over!"

They just finished the Parsons press conference a few mintues ago; they aired it live on ESPN 710. Here's some highlights...

  • He's being paid by the NBA to the run the team, but isn't required to report to either Adam Silver or the other 29 owners

  • He hasn't spoken to Donald and Shelly Sterling, and doesn't plan to.

  • Pretty much everything stays business as usual as far as day-to-day functions

That's at least what I heard; I didn't tune in until halfway through the conference.
