Lebron isn't leaving Miami. We needed to respond the way Brooklyn did.

Repped High Quality Post

Brooklyn "needed" to respond to being in an 0-2 hole. They've played a great game and they'll still be in exactly the same position as we are.

Every loss - even a simple 8-0 run by the other team - gives you such a defeatist attitude. If that's the way you react to every little bump in the road of life, it must really suck to be you.

CP3 wasn't here in 2010 when LeBron had us on his list. Blake was, though.

LeBron's a smart guy, I'm sure he realizes just how unique, versatile and dominant a team built around him and Blake would be.

And how did that "list" work out?

LBJ, Wade and Bosh had their plans set since the 2008 Olympics.

The Clippers' 2014/15 lineup will not feature LeBron and Blake without CP3... If you think different, just name your bet and I'll be happy to take your money.

Obviously he couldn't suit up for every team on the list at once. He also turned down New York and Chicago, do you really think they aren't going to try again next time he's available?

You're moving the goalposts anyway. You said CP3 is the only reason LeBron would ever consider the Clippers, yet in 2010, he considered us without CP3 being on the roster. That's just a fact.

And YOU said you'd trade CP3 for LeBron, yet before CP3 got here, we weren't even a playoff team. LeBron may have "considered" us in 2010 (even though it's common knowledge that he, Wade and Bosh talked about teaming up 2 years earlier), but the real "fact" is that he DIDN"T choose us.

Now, I do agree with you that CP3 + DJ for LeBron is a great deal for Miami if LeBron wants to walk, but he's not coming here without CP3.

IF LeBron wears a Clippers jersey next year, there is no way CP3 isn't on the same team... like I said, name your bet.

A big reason why he didn't choose us was out of our control because Miami was able to clear space for two max contracts. If they hadn't been able to make room for Wade AND Bosh, I seriously think LeBron is a Clipper right now.

I've never believed the collusion angle, because I distinctly remember talk of Joe Johnson being the third member of Miami's "Big Three" before Atlanta offered him that vastly overpaid contract. They could have never planned it all out in advance because how could they have known for sure what the 2010 landscape would be like in 2008?

It's all moot, dude.

Right now: No CP3 = No LeBron.

Likely no LeBron anyway, but without CP3... zero chance. So your trade proposal is, as I said before, absurd.

If you think different, suggest a bet. Neither of us likely to win because he's staying in Miami, but I'll take my low-percentage shot over your absolute-zero chance any day.

We traded Bledsoe for Dudley? Is that worse than signing Baron Davis? Or giving up Baron for 1st overall pick in draft?

Bledsoe is the one guy who could have half kept up with Westbrook.

Bench is way worse than last year. And people say Doc should be CEO?

No Bledsoe to cause trouble on defense and speed up the game. Odom could play d and rebound and pass. Turiaf was not that bad.

Granger and Dudley and Davis and Hollins all look terrible this year. We need some athletes!

Reggie Evans would still look good as a Clipper since we need rebounds so bad.

No, because we got Redick from the Bledsoe trade.

I'll rep you as soon as I can for this.

In any case, this is basically a must-win for the Clippers. Lose this, and it would be HARD to come back.

If we don't think we can win start the bench. We are only down 2-1. We are a good home team and we blew them out. They are scared too. Starting Jamal may be an OK idea because I don't think their bench can contain JJ. If we start Jamal he will be a valid scoring option but KD will destroy him. GRANGER WHERE ARE YOU? It's time to throw every fresh defender at KD.

REMEMBER CARON BEAT US WITH ALL THOSE CORNER THREES even though Westbrook jumped on us like a trampoline.

Does anyone else get frustrated when the Clips complain about too many calls to the refs? I'm always yelling, "STFU and get back on defense!!!". Blake still hasn't matured in this part of his game yet. He has gotten a tad bit better. I know he gets a good beating down low, but he is a strong dude and is probably the league leader in drawing fouls. I hope Doc can get the players to stay more focused on the game and let them know that he will do the talking.

Other than that, I think we got this next game. Doc and the Clips won't lose 2 in a row!

It's all about match-ups. Spurs swept us one year then lost to the Thunder the next series. Mavs took them to 7 just this year, so I would be cautious about the what have you done lately for me kool-aid.

I think the only solution is to give at the series a more physical level just how did Memphis, so we must go inside to Blake; the problem: Blake is not dominant at low post and is not a dirty player like Z Bo, also Dj is not so technical like Gasol.

I also think that creating a relay on the defensive end on KD, playing hard and spent fouls with Barnes, Dudley and Granger, bring the player to be physically tired at the end of the game.

I also observed that at the defensive end we play many defensive switches that creating too many favorable situations for Oklahoma, like the last point of game three of KD and WestbrooK (three points), so i think that is better to avoid this type of defensive tactics. What do you think.

We'll Finally See What This Team Is Made of by being in a Game Deficit in the Playoffs.

I took some interesting pieces from a ClipsNATION article

http://www.clipsnation.com/2014/5/10/57 ... r-must-win

Friday night we had the first game of this series where both teams played well. In Game 1, the Clippers were great and the Thunder were overmatched and the Clippers won easily. Game 2 was an easy win for the Thunder, as they came out sharp and easily bested a lackluster Clippers team. Friday both teams looked good, all the superstars played like superstars, and the Thunder just made more shots down the stretch to take a 2-1 series lead. Game 4 now becomes more or less a "must win" for the Clippers. The Clippers played well enough to win on Friday (although the defense can certainly stand to tighten up some). They need to find a way to slow down Kevin Durant -- and they need to hope that Russell Westbrook and Serge Ibaka, who are way about their season shooting numbers right now -- start to regress to the mean.

Help on Durant. Heading into the series it was a given that the Clippers didn't have any great options for defending Durant. The hope was that they could defend him by committee, starting with Matt Barnes but allowing Jared Dudley and Danny Granger to take turns on him. However, after three games it's beginning to look like Barnes is not just the best option, but more or less the only option. Neither Dudley nor Granger can stay in front of Durant, and neither can make a shot. Is Matt Barnes going to have to play 46 minutes a night because that's whtat Scott Brooks does with Durant?

Rebounding. The Clippers have gotten pretty thoroughly trounced on the boards in all three games of the series. They can't to continue to lose the rebounding battle and hope to advance to the Conference Finals.

Pajaniforms. It's Sunday, so the Clippers will be playing in their baby blue, sleeved uniforms, which I call the pajaniforms; I don't know if the Thunder will be in the navy road alternates or in white. The Clippers have been pretty good in the baby blues this season, putting together several of their biggest outbursts of the season in them, including a road win in Oklahoma City wearing them. Let's hope they remain lucky tonight.

No three game losing streaks. Among the more remarkable accomplishments of the first year of Doc Rivers and the Clippers is that the team has never lost three straight games under Doc. Of course, the Clippers had also never lost when leading after three quarters at home until Friday. Still, Doc's ability to make adjustments and provide motivation has gotten the team to rise to the occasion to avoid bad patches all season -- hopefully he can do it again.

Clippers have the big guns to win if they stay focused, avoid fouls (if they are called for fouls, accept it and stay focused), and stay hungry. The teams that want it the most are the ones who win.

Exactly. I think the debating of calls needs to be left to Doc. We don't need our guys disputing calls. I think they spend so much time trying to draw the foul and when they dont get the call they get depressed, rather than as you say get back and hustle on defense.

different matchups pose different problems for teams. Why are the 5th placed Blazer getting spanked by the Spurs, but yet the 8th place Mavericks give the Spurs a scare? Every team poses a different set of challenges regardless of seeding. I think at this point we are jumping the gun on the Spurs discussion, but if and when we cross that bridge I don't think our fate will be so one sided...in fact, I like our chances against the Spurs

I don't think there is a shirt today,I think it is just a towel. NO sponsors,no shirts. did you notice they were sponsored by Chumash but by the last home game (1st round) they were some tire company. I think today we have none. At least this is the impression I got from the MVP (STH) newsletter.

You guys exaggerated way WAY too much the impact of the refs on game 3, if anything WE got the benefit of the call, it was just about execution from our players. The whole game I thought our offense was stagnant, we only had that lead in the 4th cause Jamaal got that bogus halfcourt heave foul called. Good thing is our execution can be fixed on offense, Let's go baby, IT'S WINNING TIME!

This game will be the most important game of CP's career. He knows if we go down 3-1 it's gonna be almost impossible to come back. I think Chris wants to get out of the 2nd round so badly that we might see a legendary game from him tonight.

Let's go Clippers!

Agreed. It's not CP who I'm worried about, it's BG and DJ. Honestly, they've been one of the main reasons why we haven't advanced past the second round. BG can't be that guy plays like Woody Allen and DJ has to play like he has a brain. Those are the guys I'm most worried about.

Chris Paul had 21 points, 16 assists and no turnovers playing 42 minutes Friday, when Griffin scored 34 points. Jackson and ex-Clipper Butler combined to outscore the Clippers' reserves on their own.

Offensively, Paul will be looking to get J.J. Redick more shots than the six he attempted in Game 3. Defensively, he wants to limit the number of easy shots taken by Durant and Westbrook.

"We just got to play and not necessarily worry about being desperate," Paul said. "We understand it's not time to hang our heads. We just need to get game four."

In their humble playoff history, the Clippers have never come back from a 2-1 deficit to win a series.

"Any of those stats don't matter," Rivers said, laughing. "If you'd said the Lakers or the Celtics, then that would matter."

Blake needs to stop acting so modest on the court and take like 45 shot attempts today. Get their entire team fouled out. I'm sick and tired of him putting up a "conservative" 20-35pts. I want to see him put up 50 like we all know he's capable of.

The plays where he gets the ball around the elbow or ft line extended and then gives the dump off to one of the guards running their defender into Blake. He is in 100% pass only mode and should be in triple threat in those situations. I mean he literally has 5+ feet of cushion between him and his defender in those sets. Blake plays sort of a point forward with his passing abilities, and like a point guard, he always needs to be a threat to score.

Anyways, I'm confident if the Clippers dictate the game and stop reacting to the Thunder they will win.
