Clippers' Doc Rivers goes from voice of reason to loud distraction For the last three weeks, Doc Rivers has been the most inspirational leader in Los Angeles, the strongest man in the NBA, a beacon of restraint and respect amid a raging storm of stupidity. Rivers has been the Clippers' official face when the rest of the front office wanted to hide. Rivers has spoken for Clippers players too angry to put their thoughts into words. As owner Donald Sterling was being banned by the NBA for life for his racist remarks, Rivers came to life as the powerful symbol of hope....

I love what Doc did.

Delivering a message that he's aware of the bias officiating towards the NBA.

The NBA is now aware you cannot hide anymore because we are all watching you.

and the NBA couldn't fine him because it was so obvious that the referees were paid to look the other way.

I don't take this as a distraction. This is something that I love about Doc. He shows the anger and is willing to take the hit financially over what he thinks is right. If this was just ignored and/or we take the hit is very likely to happen again. If it happens again in the next two games it can be at least made into Sac part 2 and I'm sure the NBA would not want that.

The game looked fixed in the last 2 minutes, and with plenty of possible reasons for the fix to be in: KD vs. LJ, MVP vs. MVP, not letting Sterling win on the way out, not running up the price of the Clippers before a forced sale, try to take focus of the black eye which is Sterling from removing us from the playoffs. Doc said it in the first round that the longer we win the more the Sterling situation will be talked about. Personally I think the fix is more in play due to the whole Sterling debacle rather than KD vs LJ, but who knows.

There shouldn't be any game ,and definitely not series, defining calls in the playoffs. Game and series defining plays, not calls.

I back what Doc did 100%. There was an injustice and he stood up for the team. A coward would've accepted what the refs handed to us. River isn't one.

I can understand why Jamal's girlfriend wants to be adopted by him. He is a really good man.

Doc was absolutely justified and did the right thing. Vinny would have bent over and just taken it.

That's a stupid article, not bashing who posted it nice find, but that's just dumb. You want your coach to stand up for you.

People said the same thing about Phil Jackson when he called out the refs, but he'd get his fine and a resounding win in the next game. It's worth it.

I thought I read he got fined $50k.

It was frustrating to watch him yapping at the refs instead of focusing on the end of the game.

You guys do realize Plaschke, perhaps the biggest flip-flooper of them all, wrote this right? I never take anything this guy writes seriously.
