Doc Rivers has been fined $25,000 for his comments on the Game 5 refs for the OKC-LAC Second Round Series. This comes really as no surprise to me. Proud of Doc for standing up for his team and letting the NBA know that they are not happy with the constant favoritism for OKC in the series.

I think we all knew it was coming, and if it didn't it would be the NBA's closest thing to admission of guilt in this fiasco.

Proud of Doc. Lets hope that fine turns into one of the best investments in Clippers' history.

Whatever.

Doc's message has already been sent.

On a another note, Ibaka did not get a fine for the low blow?

Typical favortism.

Don't understand Doc getting fined when he speaks the truth. Its like the refs and Doc are watching two separate games so the refs miss everything Doc is bringing up.

Oh, so he did get fined. Worth every cent. Had to be said. Doc is The Man.

Yup. And they gave him the "low-end" fine of $25k... could have been a lot more based on precedent. I'm sure it was discussed in his conversation with NBA HQ yesterday... among other things Yellow_Flash_Colorz_PDT_19

A well rounded man and a championship coach who has earned well respected credibility through out his career. Now he's become the voice of our Clippers who stood strong for the team through this Donald Sterling situation while managing to coach. Now, he speaks out against the refs on unjust officiating. This, i hope, should not be overlooked. The man has spoken! on live television and fined, i would not have it in any other way. In Doc We Trust!

Actually I think the fine amount is pretty standard based on last years fines for coaches. http://www.eskimo.com/~pbender/fines.html#13-14

But either way, it was just a mandatory slap on the wrist. But I would like to think the league knows they owe us one and the refs do too. I expect the 50/50 calls to go our way this time around.

I hope the player will give their best tonight and win this series for Doc, and then win the champion and disband the team since Sterling has no plan to sell it.

I think the sports beat writers are starting to see the real reason behind Doc's criticism of the ref's, it effectively put them on notice. It sent a message loud and clear that not only do I see the favoritism but now the entire fan base and the league is seeing it as well. I think we can look forward to fair and balanced foul calls for the remaining two games. Should that hypothesis come true Doc truly in fact did the right thing.

By the way, I read that Brothers will not be part of tonight's game or game 7 in OKC (yep I'm giving us the win tonight) anyone else hear that? Wonder if his hugging of KD's mom before the game caused a stir in the inner circle?

Doc did the right thing. It's crazy that you can't speak about officiating at all and just keep getting frack in the ass

The NBA really should fine the refs instead when the coaches speak out about poor officiating. How do they continue to escape public scrutiny and punishment?

That would be perfect. And the NBA should evaluate refs and give them grades. Just like how most professionals receive evaluations and how students receive grades, they should be held accountable for how they ref.

Here's some PO (they have regular season stats too) referee stats to eye ball:

Then we'll get Marc Davis or Joey Crawford instead

If there is a game 7, Danny Crawford would be perfect. Looks as if he does not favor the home team.

He does not favor the Clippers even more.

I actually like Joey Crawford. Big prima-donna, but I've never seen any deliberate anti-Clippers bias from him. He's just got a bad rep with ALL fans because his is the most known name. Ken Mauer can be a bit of a d*ck and used to seemingly hate us, but he's not been as bad in recent years and I think he calls a pretty straight game.

The other one we want to avoid along with Dan Crawford, Marc Davis and obviously Brothers, is Bill Kennedy. Doc and he have a real history.

It was obvious he would be fined, so he'll take it and hope for a more balanced officiating situation tonight

Alright, good to know. Us having any of those refs would be a sign the NBA wants us to lose.

Thank you, Doc, for taking one for the team. So glad he said what he said to bring attention to the Game 5 officiating travesty. I hope the Clippers are fired up and the refs are fair tonight.
