We are interested in drafting Bogdan Bogdanovich. He's a very good shooter and passer. Could he be our SF Manu Ginobli?

He's also a really good defender. I hope we don't trade our pick. Too much talent in this years draft.

The Clippers have the 28th overall selection, but league officials who were not authorized to speak publicly said Rivers doesn't want to add a rookie to his roster and would rather have the cap space than pay the guaranteed salary that goes to a first-round draft pick. The officials said that Rivers has offered trade scenarios centering around their pick, plus a wing player - either Jamal Crawford, Matt Barnes or Jared Dudley - and reserve guard Willie Green. One deal that was proposed had Dudley and another Clippers player and the Clippers' draft pick going to the Charlotte Hornets for guard....

What is the point of not drafting a pick

Of you aren't serious about adding special free agents. I don't want us making moves because of money only. That is why we need an owner with deep pockets. Who is paying for stuff?

This is bitter sweet. Of course we all want what is "best" for our team, but I would hate to miss out on being a part of the draft, especially one that is as well-thought of as this one. Even if we end up trading our pick, I hope we at least buy into the second round and add someone that way.

Seems like a solid guy that would fit on our team

I think that would be a great trade. Except I'm pretty sure the Kings would not trade someone like Marcus Smart or Aaron Gordon (likely to fall to 8) for Jared Dudley and whoever we get with the 28th pick.

I sort of like Jerami Grant with our 28th pick. Assuming we resolve our backup PG situation with a free agent, we can always use a young body to bang in the key while Blake and Deandre rest.

Here's a great detailed (final) breakdown of the draft (as they've been doing for a while now) from the boys over at Box Score Geeks. Plus this year they added some great player comparison tools which took a lot of time and work.

We can trade our 1st round pick and still find some great steals in the 2nd round, especially in the bigs department.

P.S. Their not really high (to say the least, lol) on Thanasis Antetokounmpo, Damien Inglis or Bogdanovich.Sad

Have some fun with it.

Doc Rivers said he will trade the 28th pick for cap space. So we won't be getting anyone tomorrow.

If it means getting rid of Jared Dudley as well, then I'm cool with giving up the 28th pick. But they should wait until it rolls around. Someone like Jordan Adams or Tyler Ennis may drop to 28.

Is this the same website that claimed Hardaway Jr was a guaranteed bust and that Jamaal Franklin was going to be the star of the draft?

Sure as hell hope we don't trade our pick, especially if it's just for cap space, unless it's used in a package to trade for someone like Afflalo.

Yep, no ones perfect and they admit it while continuing to improve their models. Although it's best to wait 4 years for the real "truth" to surface for most players before the bust or star label can be applied.

Their track record is pretty good even with some "misses". See links to past drafts analysis they've done.

There is literally no win in trading our 1st round pick for basically nothing (a little salary cap). I would be pissed if Doc makes that decision.

I've officially had it, we need an actual GM with decision making power and to let Doc focus on coaching. Wasting this pick on another SG, especially players as shitty as Henderson and Shumpert, while we have Matt Barnes and Dudley at the 3 is something Isiah would do.

I agree, don't waste the damn pick on a SG.

You guys do not understand what the front office is doing and neither do I , but I get the jist. If we trade for athleticism and defense on the wing , we most likely....

Shumpert is pretty average on defense. I would rather draft a defensive wing like KJ McDaniels, which plays better defense than him.

We need less small ball offense. We ran it so much this year because we didn't have a viable SF or back up Center.

Jamal at SF or PG is death by suicide.

Hypothetically let's say we draft KJ McDaniels.

We'd essentially be trading 3-4 years of KJ's tenacious defense at the SF position for 1 year of Shumperts slightly above average defense with bad knees at the SG position.

I don't understand the love for Shumpert. What has he done?

You cannot KJ's defense any college does not amount to anything. He was playing against college competition kids out of highschool and such. The NBA is a different monster. If mcDaniels defense was great in....

Go watch some KJ McDaniels footage. Rebounding and defense are some of the very few college attributes that directly translate to the NBA and KJ is one of the top defenders and rebounders at his position in this draft.

I'm willing to bet my life that McDaniels will be a superior defender than Shumpert.

His 7 foot wing span and lateral quickness will come in handy when you want someone to guard Curry, Westbrook, Durant, Klay, Iggy...etc

Gerald Green interests me and so does Tony because he can defend Durant better than anyone in the league. We'd just have to trade Jamal for me to be content with a 3rd SG.

Dude!! Calm down. We have a GM, his name is Dave Wohl. Wait till the night is over before you've "officially had it". You're acting like a little kid who asks their parents what they're getting for Xmas and when the parents tell them "nothing" they freak out. Just wait and see what you get bro.

Jamal already tried playing PG in Portland and even he admitted it was a disaster. He's a born scorer, not a facilitator/game manager.

And then maybe trade Jamal or something for Henson and then buy a 2nd round pick. That would be a dream draft day for me.

I'm pretty sure Jamal hates playing PG even more than the people watching him hate him playing PG, so that's just not an option sadly. He's certainly no Ginobili.

I think someone mentioned it on twitter today, but like I said about Jamal, this might be the best time to sell high. He's 34 years old and Hedo was the only player who stayed around that was older than him last season (Jamison and Jackson were also older). Even Tony Allen is two years younger, but my worry with Allen is that his contract goes until he is 34-35 years old I believe, 3 more seasons, and Allen consistently has health issues.

Gerald Henderson who wasn't mentioned here, but has been mentioned might not be a bad choice. Hendo (26) is younger than these guys, but I don't like his 3PT shooting or offensive production too much in general (too much long mid-range shooting - 37% of attempts from 16-23) that needs to be balanced with 3PT shooting or getting to the FT line which I don't think he can do. Also his defense is not as good as Allen's. Now, with all that said, Hendo only makes $6M which isn't bad, and his contract only runs for two seasons.

Also, yes, he's a SG, but he actually has enough size to play SF where it isn't a problem. So if you get a proper starting SF, you can actually use Henderson as a backup SG/SF and he won't be outmatched at SF. His 6'10 wingspan and 8'6.5" standing reach is basically the same as Jamal's measurements except he's strong and obviously a more committed defender of course, and about one inch in both over Tony Allen.

...due to his age, contract amount and length, he's not a bad choice, but I would try to do a Hendo + 2nd round pick for Jamal swap and then use our pick + Barnes to fill out something else.

Green was dratfted in 2005 and has played 7 NBA seasons. If he was going to be a great defender, it would have surfaced, and anything resembling great defense would certainly have prevented him from dropping out of the league for a little while.

There are points where we have to accept who players are, and don't put expectations on them that they can't fulfill and will cause them to be considered a disappointment.

That what worried me about him. I'd certainly take Allen , but Green and Redick coming off of floppy sets would be dangerous and CP delivering lobs to Green

Get ready! I'll be EXTREMELY disappointed if the Clippers don't make a move. Either move up the draft board or trade pick for a decent wing.

Certainly, but don't put the idea that Green will become a great defender because it just isn't likely. If we get him, it is in the role of a pure scorer, he would be replacing Jamal's role.

Sorry I should be clear. I meant trade him to the CLIPPERS lol. I think our best package is like 28th pick and Bullock. Which I'd do for Green for sure.
