You do realize Mitch Mcgary isn't even close to the same size as Steven Adams. Will not have the same impact physically that Steven Adams has.

Reggie and our pick to move up to draft Adrien Payne.

I'm all for moving up. I'm not a bullock fan.

Well, his name is certainly better than Bullock's. I can see the "BRING THE PAYNE" promotion posters already.

That being said, I haven't ever seen him play, so I don't know if he would be a good match for the team.

Me too- he's flawed but he's my absolute favorite in this draft for his defense.

He doesn't seem like a star just a solid role player or borderline all

Star one day. But no way we could get him or trade up for him.

We have nothing apart from Paul, blake and dj that people want.

Well, there might be a team out there stupid enough to take Bullock and the Clippers's current first round pick. Maybe the Cavs or the Nuggets would be stupid enough to do that trade.

That's a great way to become the Knicks of the past decade. If we want to be like the Spurs and even OKC and Houston, it requires smart drafting, which requires having picks. They don't have to be stars, just having productive young players on cap-friendly contracts gives us more flexibility for trades.

Adrien Payne is absolutely what we need. I think he can be a very good backup big as early as his rookie year.

I go to UF so I got to see Pat Young all year and I have to say he is an absolute monster. Obviously he doesn't have a sculpted offensive lowpost skillset, but there are few options in the late 1st round that do. I heard all year that the reason he wouldn't be drafted in the 1st round (and for a time of the year, not at all) was because he's undersized for the NBA Center position. But at the Combine he measured at 6'10" (w/shoes) and measured up with one of the highest max verts from the bigs in the draft class (that participated).

Don't get me wrong, I agree that Adreian Payne is the better draft prospect for his offensive skill sets, his crazy reach, and his more transferable ability (AKA he'll have no problem fitting in at the 4 position). But I find it hard to believe that Payne will slip beyond maybe 21 (most mock drafts have him going between 13-20) and after Payne there's a shortage of immediately serviceable bigs (or atleast domestic ones; and lord knows how terrible we are when it comes to managing imports).

Problems with Mitch McGary: 1). History of back issues including the most recent back surgery in January. 2). Failing a drug test and getting banned for the season. 3). Refusing to participate in the NBA Combine in any way or form (even if you aren't a 100% from the surgery, hopefully you are still able to stand up straight enough to get your height measured, no?). 4). After all the other things, if Patric Young's height is an issue I think McGary's should be put into question too. He might be a little heavier, but doesn't have that athletic build or strength that Young has and not as long of a reach as these other bigs. If Young's ability to guard the 4/5 is questionable, McGary's surely is too.

So yeah Adreian Payne would be a great pick. But if you think Mitch McGary is a good pick at 28, then I have to say Patric Young could be just as good with maybe even less risk. In terms of getting value for your pick though I guess taking Young at 28 would be considered reaching in which case maybe trade for a mid-late 2nd round for him if he slips a little would be a great decision.

I also don't like the idea of going after young foreign bigs like Tavares or Klimenko. Would rather have Isaiah Austin if we were headed towards drafting an underwhelmingly raw, but tall prospect.

Like our chances next year with Reggie and some young bigs coming in. Pat Young could be had with our second rounder if we keep it.

My dream school has always always been UF and I've watched then for years and I have to say that I agree with you couple years go I said they should have gotten parsons. Players that come out of UF are usually really good on defense look Noah, Corey brewer, and Horford their defense is great and I honestly think the same thing we should go for Patrick young. He's tough strong a bit small but has hops so I'm all for getting him and I agree with flushyriver.

Shabazz Napier would be a nice add as a backup PG.

I know we can't expect much with a late 1st but there is talent out there. The key is the find that hidden gem. Most guys with obvious measurables will be long gone so we need to find that guy with the right combination of respectable measureables, high iq, work ethic and high skill level. I hope we hit a home run and get an impact guy.

Glenn Robinson III or cleanthony early

Ralph mentioned we have the 28th pick and if we are looking for athleticism and defense these two can be an option

Need to draft a 3 that can also cover our defensive weakness at the 2

I hope Clint Capela falls to us. I don't see the need for a swingman or pg with the glut we have now. Unless we have deal for Green and Dudley ready JJ-Crawford- Barnes-Bullock are still there while still needing to add a starting sf.

With the 28th pick you definitely aren't getting an all-star, but I'd be

satisfied with a Battier type player. Big strong 3 that plays great defense,

and can hit corner 3's

Unless we get a GM this pick will go to waste. I don't think Doc dedicates his time scouring college and international tapes as we speak.

You know we have Gary sacks right? Just because we don't use the term GM doesn't mean we don't have someone doing the job

I'd take the most athletic wing available no matter what at that spot.

We already took a player you described in reggie. That might never pan out. Don't want an identical player

I think Napier is the way to go. He's good insurance if Collison leaves or is traded.

Shabazz is going to be a really good scorer in this league, if he ends becoming a good facilitator and a better penetrator he will be very hard to guard.

It's so easy to make the UCONN comparison with Kemba Walker, but that's who he reminds me of.

COllison is under contract for next year, he was a really good backup for CP3, don't know why people are writing him off, he was a good fit, good defense and creates his own offense with those sweet drives to the hoops, HE FAST!

He's only under contract next year if he opts in. If he doesn't, he's gone.

I think you are missing the point. No one recruits draft picks. Draft picks are chosen, based on an analysis of talent etc. Sacks could be an awful person and the worst recruiter in the world, but that is irrelevant for the draft. What matters in the draft is his and the rest of the scouts and team personnel's analysis of talent.

Yeah just cause we don't use that label doesn't mean we don't have a scouts or a game plan. Doc is a great recruiter.

No you're missing the point. What GM in the league hasn't bring in any free agents, scouted foreign players, and college players.

What are you talking about? This is a capped league. Can't just sign any person. doc is the gm - Gary sacks works under him. You really think we haven't scouted any college players and don't have scouts looking internationally too? Of course we do. doc recruited jj redick, collison - all the free agents last year.

I don't understand the "we don't have a GM" thing and I hear it all the time. So now the pistons don't have a Gm either? Of course they do

Are we blaming Sacks for drafting Bullock or something? I don't get it. The dude has helped put together one of the best rosters in the league.

Go look back at last years Draft and find ONE player you would take over Bullock after the 25th pick. That's not saying Bullock is good, it's just saying last years Draft was one if the worst of all time.

Give Sacks a break.

Yeah I don't understand the hate for Reggie. Sure he didn't play great but I don't think he was terrible either. He showed that he can be a decent jump shooter as well as a decent defender. I felt he should've gotten some time ahead of Granger. Hopefully he shows more next season.

As for this year's draft, I'm hoping we can draft Payne or Glen Robinson II. Any one of those 2 would be a huge addition for the Clippers. Of course we have to hope they are avalible, and where our pick is I'm not sure they will be able to.

Watched that, fatigue is going to be a huge problem for him. That's going to mean missed rotations and picking up easy fouls. He has a good skill-set, but that might be a huge thing, especially with the NBA's faster pace too.
