Yea that argument isn't the greatest. 28th Pick - Tony Parker , Greives Vasquez, etc San Antonio Draft Great PLayer at 28th Tiago Splitter Ian Mahimi Beno Udrih Leonardo Barbosa and now after out 28th pick they draft Kyle Anderson who they will probably turn into an all-star or a great player like the rest of their late draft picks. not to mention they drafted Ginobli in the second round. There were a lot better options with this pick. Glenn Robinson, Kyle Anderson, Patric Young, etc. This pick was a bad pick considering how deep we are at the position. We Could Have done better and so....

The odds are C.J. Wilcox is a bust. The Clippers were picking 28th... Give me the guy who has a great skill set already at age 21, is significantly bigger, and probably has a higher ceiling. Drafting Wilcox over Anderson was baffling to me on so many different levels. Is Anderson THAT slow or something? I just don't see the reasoning behind drafting Wilcox at #28. If anything, I'd say Anderson has a better chance of becoming a trade chip, so draft him for that reason at least.

I think the Wilcox draft was a smart one because many four year players are devalued because they are older and their ceiling may be lower. No one is expecting Wilcox to be a break out star, but he could end up being a valuable reserve player who is in the league for ten years.

He will have a better career than many of the "Upside" players taken ahead of him, some of whom have no notable skills yet and will be disasters on a par with Korolev.

Are the odds higher for C.J. to be a bust or Anderson? I think C.J. actually is the one most likely to reach his expectations. Anderson has more potential but C.J. might have a higher floor.

His floor is end of bench role player, ceiling is bench / borderline starting role player. Anderson's floor is D-League, and his ceiling is versatile high level role player, so Anderson's ceiling is higher, that's more of what it looks like, but floor favors Wilcox. I'm not saying it was the best pick, but there's more to suggest that he is more likely to be a rotation guy than a bust. NBA level shooting ability at the least gets you somewhere.

Hey all, here's a great article on what Doc's reasons may have been when he drafted Wilcox: How C.J. Wilcox fits the Clippers PLAYA VISTA, Calif. -- In a bold and surprising move, the Los Angeles Clippers selected Washington shooting guard C.J. Wilcox with the 28th pick of the 2014 NBA draft. The decision raised some eyebrows because the Clippers already have shooting guards J.J. Redick, Jamal Crawford and Reggie Bullock under contract and needed help at other positions, particularly in the frontcourt. The Clippers wanted to take the best player available and weren't focused on position needs when they drafted C.J. Wilcox. Darren Collison....

I personally still think that GR3 or Cleanthony Early become better than Wilcox or Kyle Anderson. AND would have filled a need for us with barnes and duds hopefully on the way out.

Cleanthony Early and Kyle Anderson were both on many of the draft commentators "best available" list. They seemed to have better skill sets than Wilcox, who is considered more of a "specialist" with spot up shooting. We would have done better going with either of these guys, but I suppose Doc had his reasons.

If someone is so inclined it would be cool to see how the guys drafted after Reggie Bullock did. Perhaps if people chosen after Bullock didn't do as well as him it may prove he was the best selection available.
