You can argue all you like, but keep it on topic. This petty bickering over who is "calling out" whom just ruins the board for everybody else.

Yup, although I wanted Spurs to win. Hope they get payback against the Heat.

clippers already know that the spurs are the ultimate team..

then got swept by the spurs the last time they make it to the second round..

things like that do not get forgotten..

I know griffin remembers how duncan schooled him...with no emotion..

just a job mentality..

so the spurs are the best in the west till somebody in the west beats them in the playoffs...

clippers need to find some defensive guys to be able to challenge the spurs...

because i do not think that the clippers could have beaten the spurs this year...

the spurs are a different team during the season..once the playoffs start...they go to overdrive..

like a machine..

on a side note I kind of hate the predictable wheel of fortune on NBA champs in our time. it's as if there was a wheel with only the Spurs, Heat, Lakers, Chicago, and Celtics as options. Can someone with computer skills make a funny meme about this Smile

Just as I predicted...Heat/Spurs rematch. Guess all that talk about OKC being of the NBA's and refs so called "choice teams" didn't work out so well. The better team won. Hmmm.

Heat for the 3 peat.

We need to make moves. We just can't assume this team will get any better with the same roster, especially since the core is already experienced. I don't forsee Blake getting better defensively or DJ getting better offensively our guys have exposed their ceiling

Even if the NBA wanted a LeBron James-Kevin Durant Finals, and they did -- there is only so much refs can do. I stated clearly that "ref-fixing" only works if the teams are evenly matched and play that way. No refs can make KD's shots fall for him in OT. The refs did all they could.

Besides, with EVERY media outlet discussing the questionable reffing in the Clippers series, that last thing the NBA needs is a ton of no-contact four point plays for Durant.

You don't "know" what the NBA wanted or didn't want, but nice spin any way, lol.

The better team won as they did last year with or with out Westbrook. Maybe next year the NBA/refs can "try" a little harder. wink

Spurs are just on another level. I'm a big fan of Lebron, but I also want to see Tim Duncan get another ring before he retires.

I'm glad SA won, didn't want to see OKC get destroyed by Miami and a boring series.

Guys I really hope the CP3 talk stops. Fans all over the place want him on their team , and now some of us do not even want him as a Clipper. You never know....

haha you gotta throw something in there for Oklahoma. we would never get westbrook but he would fit perfectly as our starting SG.

I'd trade CP3 for Westbrook in an instant. Westbrook might be the one point guard to buck the trend of ball-dominant PG's not winning titles because of his ridiculous athleticism and because he's basically a shooting guard anyway. Plus, unlike CP3, he isn't scared of the playoffs, and he doesn't throw away games with the "I'll just pass the ball for 3.5 quarters and then show up at the end of the game" mentality that CP3 has.

Problem is, there is zero chance of OKC doing that trade. They'd be getting fleeced. They'd be a perennial first/second-round exit with the combined choking of Durant and CP3.

I absolutely believe it. I used to dislike Westbrook, but he won me over this postseason by carrying his team and bailing out the so called "MVP" when it mattered.

We need Westbrook's feisty attitude and fearlessness in the playoffs instead of continuing to lose with CP3's timidness, choking, and failed attempts to outsmart the refs.

But Chris CAN'T win you over next season by doing the same exact thing??? Okay, I guess that's fair.

Westbrook had 7 turnovers and shot 8/23 in a close out game at home. Seems like a classic case of a choke job if you ask me.

It's taken decades to get a PG the caliber of CP3 and I have seen a lot pass through, too many here play fantasy sports I think and if a guy blows a game he needs to be traded, until you want him back the following week. I wouldn't trade CP3 for any other PG in the league.....period, end of statement.

Yeah... the Thunder with a "go-to" playmaker AND a "go-to" scorer would be much worse than the Clippers with a score-first PG and a great, but somewhat timid PF who doesn't yet demand the ball.

And you want Blake to take MORE shots? He'd shoot it 6-8 times a game LESS with Westbrook running the show.

I highly doubt he ever will. He's going to be 30 years old soon, injury-prone with declining athleticism, and has done nothing but choke in the playoffs.

Not like closeout games are all that matter. You have to actually play well enough in the previous games to even get to game 6 or 7. Just for the exercise though

Game 6 vs SAS: 25 pts, 8 rebs, 5 assists, 5 tov, 9/17 FG, 6/7 FT

Game 5 vs MIA: 19 pts, 4 rebs, 6 assists, 2 tov, 4/20 FG, 11/13 FT

Game 7 vs MEM: 27 pts, 10 rebs, 16 assists, 7 tov, 10/16 FG, 5/6 FT

Game 6 vs LAC: 19 pts, 3 rebs, 12 assists, 5 tov, 4/15 FG, 11/12 FT

Game 6 vs SAS: 34 pts, 7 rebs, 8 assist, 6 steals, 7 tov, 8/23 FG, 17/18 FT

Average: 24.8 PPG (18.2 FGA) / 6.4 RPG / 9.4 APG / 5.2 TPG / 38.5% FG / 11.2 FTA

He certainly knows how to spam the refs and FT line, that's for sure, and he turns the ball over A LOT in close-out games. Maybe he gets to excited or something.

Chris Paul's last 5 close out games:

Game 7 vs MEM: 19 pts, 9 rebs, 4 assists, 5 tov, 7/17 FG

Game 4 vs SAS: 23 pts, 6 rebs, 11 assists, 2 tov, 9/18 FG

Game 6 vs MEM: 28 pts, 4 rebs, 8 assists, 0 tov, 11/16 FG

Game 7 vs GSW: 22 pts, 6 rebs, 14 assists, 4 steals, 2 tov, 8/15 FG

Game 6 vs OKC: 25 pts, 7 rebs, 11 assists, 3 tov, 9/18 FG

Average: 23.4 PPG (16.8 FGA) / 6.4 RPG / 9.6 APG / 2.4 TPG / 52.4% FG

What I mainly learned right now is that in close-out games, Paul isn't interested in the refs anymore and actually makes shots fro the field while Westbrook seems to be sloppy with the ball and committing way too many turnovers and barrels into the lane to get FT's to make up for his poor shot making in these games. Also learned that CP hasn't scored less than 20 pts, shot less than 50% FG, had less than 8 assists or committed more than 3 turnovers in his last 4 close out games. Have to go all the way back to Memphis series in 2012 where he had gotten injured two games prior (which also makes the SA game 4 more impressive as he had played injured and struggled that whole series too). Nothing really to see here outside of a made up narrative to be honest. Westbrook is a nice player, but the grass is FAR from greener.

...but hey, JQuick might be right, we might just be 5+ turnovers, inferior overall games performance, under 40% shooting and barreling into the lane hoping for calls away from advancing more in the playoffs. Let's not even compare CP's performance playing with Blake for only 4/6 games last season and being the focus of Memphis' defense to Westbrook's vs Memphis with the league leading scorer right next to him this season. Had to be the aggressive 4.9 TPG, 38.2% FG and 25.6 PPG on 23.6 FGA that got them through that series. All these losses, if Paul had just takeg 1.4 more FGA (and a ton more FT's) to score 1.4 more PPG, which means he'd have to miss some of the shots he made (but it is all part of the plan, offensive rebounds, duh!), and then committed 2.8 more turnovers, we would have done better!

Well it's the general "just watch the games, it's the feeling you get watching Westbrook and you just know inside you that he is impacting the game more". Of course that might be supported by some limited and not full breadth stat usage all the while saying stats don't tell everything and then mainly supported by the fact that he has had more playoff success with a superior team/teammate most years, but we'll gloss over that slight but very important part an insinuate that it is the difference in their individual performance that has led to it.

The good old totally subjective argument with nothing concrete with a side of accusing the other person for just not seeing or watching well enough or something about stats hiding the reality that they see but no other reality and in that line also claiming a superior ability to watch and understand what is going on and to better understand player impact.

what matters is the playoff games..not regular season games..

point guard is the leader...if you lose..he is at fault!!! period..

he is the quarterback...

when a football team loses...it falls on the quarterback..

paul gets paid the big bucks...but does not produce big games...

he cannot take over a game...he is a point guard...he does not need to ...he needs to drive the clippermobile..

westbrook is great....oklahoma just doesn't have a great team...

you can tell a great team by how well they do in the playoffs...

the clippers gave the series to oklahoma..

choke!!! choke!!! choke!!!

do you want to experience this again next year?

with paul?

great players don't make mistakes like that at the end of the game...

jordan...magic...thats why they are great..

paul is ok,not great..

should we keep him out of the last 2 minutes of every playoff game next year ??

he can sit next to dj..

we can finish the game with our bench players...

THE 3 GREAT PLAYERS ON THE SPURS TOOK LESS MONEY TO STAY TOGETHER...

THEY DESERVE TO WIN !!

SHOULD HAVE WON LAST YEAR AGAINST THE HEAT..

Yes, as in "Chris Paul choked the series away for his TEAM," or "CP3 is hogging the TEAM's cap space." roll
