New Arena? New Name? New Colors? Why? That's like a country changing it's name after winning a war that brought so much turmoil. Donald Sterling was that war , and the Clippers just won the war. Why change it all. To me looking at that name, looking at those colors reminds me of what we, as a franchise, have been through and overcome. If anything needs to change, it's our mindset. We need to get back to basketball and winning a championship.

It will be hard for me to attend a Clippers home game since I live on the East Coast , but I will try my hardest next season to catch a flight out to Los Angeles. I wish we could hire a new guys , you know the one that starts the chants , I do not know if that is the PA guy or the DJ , but we need new chants. From what I hear on TV all we do is chant 'Defense' and we barely get into that and Let's Go Clips or Clippers. Someone who attends games needs to start chants like L-A-C , you know how Oklahoma fans chant O-K-C. Or maybe a Thank You Ballmer *Clap* Clap* Clap Clap Clap* Very Happy Or Actually The Demise of the Other Team like 'Flopper' or 'Overrated'! I feel sometimes We Don't Actually Get Into The Games, which trust me I do believe the fans do, but from TV it seems quiet or "dead". I remember against OKC it sounded lifeless in there and Bill Simmons came on air and said the energy from the fans were great in there during the halftime show.

Ballmer if you happen to look at this site. PLEASE! PLEASE Adjust the lighting from this:

To Something Like This

To me it looks like a high school gym in there. It was rumored in the past that Donald didn't want to pay for the lighting to be adjusted or something of that nature and that is the reason it looks like it does.

Those are the things I would want to change. Not the name, the main colors -- red, white, and blue. I would like some more jersey variations maybe something similar to the Lakers Hollywood Nights -- maybe some Black Jerseys like this:

What Are Some Suggestions You Guys Have For Changes that do not involve the name or the main colors.

I'm all for the name "Los Angeles Braves" and a new arena would be epic, but were?

I would definitely love some new jerseys. Change our home and away I think because honestly our current ones aren't all so attractive. Then again, there aren't many NBA teams with good lookin' jerseys.

Doesn't this belong in this thread?:

Basically the same thing.

No Clipper Joe! It doesn't not belong in the same thread. If I believe it did I would have posted on that thread. I am asking for everything other than what that thread is suggesting. Things like the Arena Lighting , Chants , and jerseys have nothing to do with the name change? The threads are related in change of things , but that is all. Just Let It Flow Man. The thread should be fine by itself. It doesn't need to be merged

  • Don't change the name. The only way to change opinions about the team is to keep winning; a name change doesn't change our history. Plus, I have yet to hear a suggestion that upgrades on the name we already have.

  • Don't change the lighting. The Lakers' games are lit like that to emulate how the Forum was lit. That's their schtick and we would look like the "little brother" by emulating it. Also, I don't see the problem with the fans being visible. Darkening the arena makes it look like the team is ashamed of its fans.

  • Change the colors. Red, white, and blue is a boring and generic colorway that is so overused in pro sports (just look at baseball, where it seems like half the league wears those colors). Bringing back the San Diego colorway would cause merchandise to fly off the shelves while visually distinguishing the Clippers from the rest of the league.

  • Change the roster by adding LeBron to it. Smile

  • Fire Mike "Homer" Smith and bring back Walton!

I like Mike Smith. He and Ralph go well together. So no changes there for me.

How about no, no, no, no, and... No. The only change the franchise needed was an owner change.

I think they should change the name. I like the Los Angeles Braves and start using those colors. Everything associated with the clippers is negative. Horrible owner, almost always had a horrible team, and horrible luck, but things are different now and it's time for a change. I hate when reporters ask the players about the clippers history When they had nothig to do with it.

I catch about 5 clippers game a season and the crowd is something I strongly dislike but you have to remember most people at those games are new fans and are not truly passionate about the team But yeah we definitely need someone who gets the crowd pumped up BC we need a louder fan base. I watch the OKC game and they are cheering loud down by 10.

I think steve is going to really give this team a fresh new energy.

I just find Smith annoying as hell. The Ralph/Walton team was legendary.

I like the old San Diego color scheme.

As always, I'm 100% behind any new arena idea. I don't care where, just break away from the Lakers. As long as the team is still called the "Los Angeles" Clippers, their value will remain strong and big time broadcast revenue will come with it.

I realize that there is a lease but there is also a 7 year opt out clause and assuming a move wasn't to Anaheim, it will take practically that long to get through the red tape, environmental reviews and eventual construction. Leases can easily be bought out as well but it should be pointed out that the Clippers get ZERO from AEG in suite sales. Ballmer doesn't come off as someone who is just going to sit around being the 3rd wheel in an arena.

And if they are going to be at Staples long term then I agree with JQuick32. Keep the lighting. That and the selfies are one of the few things that make the Clippers unique at Staples.

Well I go to about 20 games a year....so leave us alone...we do the best we can.

I want no changes. I want the LA Clippers to rise from the ashes of this...not the Braves, not the SD Clippers...The Los Angeles Clippers. If you want changes do them after we rise as who we are.

leave everything the same. i don't want to go to my grave knowing the clippers never made it over the hump.

i get the impression that the one's that want changes are newer fans that have avoided the history.

Also disagree with this. Always thought Walton was an embarrassment. I've never heard a more awkward broadcaster, and always got the impression his fellow broadcasters felt the same.

I brought up the in-game chants/audio in a thread several months ago. It really is stale, especially around the second quarter. A constant roll between "defense" and "here we go..." takes the crowd out of the game. You can only go back to the same well so many times.

As for team colors, I think we should stick with red. There's been a study done on the colors soccer teams wear. Those with read were far more successful than others. Not sure how that relates to there simply being a greater number of them in general, but it's a proven color. But that said, I also like the blue, and even "Sunday blue", s long as it's not the sleeved jerseys.....

Come on, man! Walton was and is the GOAT broadcaster (other than Ralph of course).

GOAT is about right, he was known to randomly spout unintelligible commentary, often without relevance to the game at hand.

He did get a bit better as time went on, at least for general games. But as a Clipper broadcaster, he was painful to listen to.
