I Came across this from this other site most of us probably already know about. Well, This guy says that we could sign Maggette and trade to detroit for for someone that GSW want and in turn they trade BD to us. This way we still have mle to spend on someone. It sounds like a great Idea. Hope it could happen. Thanks JohnR.

| that scenario would be amazing....i'm sure they have thought/are thinking about this....but then again this is the clippers FO were tallking about....almost seems to good to be true.... |

Interesting, would solve alot of problems.
But if Detroit were willing to do this, why wouldn't LAC consider just swapping for Chauncey instead of Baron? |

I still think this is the best scenario ... read Spontane's link. One of the responses amends the deal to replace Detroit with "any team that has made an offer to Corey". This would get Corey more money than just the MLE. Essentially 3-way trade:
GSW: S&T Baron to LAC
LAC: S&T Corey to Team X
Team X: trade to GSW
LAC gains many advantages from this (particularly reduces the threat of GSW inducing EB to sign)
GSW gets something in return for losing Baron.
Corey, Baron and EB get what they each want.
Just need to find the right "Team X" that wants Corey and has a player GSW would want.
Other minor pieces may be needed to make $ work (Brevin anyone? He's cheap and expiring in 09)
I'd be more than happy to see LAC throw next years 1st round pick to either GSW or X. If this trade works and LAC can still sign EB, Livi and a MLE, the pick will be somewhere in the high teens. No big deal. |
