Doc is good but it's hard to pull a rabbit out of the hat when there are no rabbits. Jamal was a big plus mostly because our second team's offense broke down. He should be able to start somewhere if he were that good but nobody's biting. Maybe Doc thought he could get Ariza. He got fooled. It's not because of LBJ or Melo, it's because every good SF has an agenda that doesn't include us. Pierce wants to stay with the Nets and the MINIMUM he'd consider is $6mill, read not MLE. , Deng wants max $$ and he'll get a lot. Ariza is a mystery but we can't afford him. Do we want to trade JJ for Ariza. If we wanted a top tier SG we'd have the same problem. To be honest, choking like we did makes us look like the Clippers of old. People are not knocking on our door. We lost Collison who was a key to our success. Farmar ain't DC.

I'm worried.

People aren't interested because we can't offer them a lot of money. That Is all.

Just focus in and nab a player like Marvin Williams and call it a day.

Nevermind I forgot we gave Farmar the BAE so we can't afford Marvin Williams IMO.

Could still get him if we luck out and get CLE to agree to a sign and trade for Hawes.

If we were last yr's Heat we'd get people cheap. I don't know if we wanted Granger or not but he signed cheap but maybe he's lost his mojo. Money is a part.

CapsNClips has said it a few times, but I agree with him that Wesley Johnson would be a great option. I wish Johnson would use off ball movement and cuts more like a Barnes or Marion though.

Still, he's a possible minimum contract player who is athletic, young (26 is believe), defends, rebounds, and he's improved as a 3PT shooter too. Career 34.6% 3PT on 3.2 3PA in 24.7 mpg. If he's going to be available for the minimum again like he was last season, he's an excellent option that maybe is getting overlooked.

I still hate that his NBA game is so perimeter oriented when he showed so much ability to move without the ball and get close to the basket in college. Maybe Minnesota ruined him early, who knows. His offense overall is meh, but for a 20 mpg defensive guy he's good if cheap.

Would be worth checking out for the minimum but shouldn't be a starter. He also wasn't that great in college

Pure defensive role player, but he's a good acquisition at the minimum if that is possible. I was mistaken, he's almost 27, so he'll be 27 for us, still young of course, another 6 years or so before he really starts to see an appreciable athletic decline as long as there is no significant injury, but we wouldn't be signing him long term anyways.

Really just the defensive stuff, that length, quickness and athletic ability is something we just have zero of at SF/SG on this team, and we might not be able to get any of the higher level players who can do that stuff. He did get drafted so high because he looked pretty good his last year in college. 17/9/2/50/42/77, but everyone knew he couldn't create, but his cutting to the basket has really disappointed as an NBA player in comparison to college. His 3PT shooting has actually not been bad though, 34.6% on his 884 career attempts, 36.9% on 271 3PA last season.

I like that Wes can play defense against 2's. I think that could be very helpful when going against bigger 2's. He is young enough where he still has room to grow and has enough positives where we wouldn't be a downgrade from Duds.

Anyone else notice how Dudley was subliminally whining about being underpaid on Twitter yesterday? This guy is the biggest scrub in the league, fat and out-of-shape, with an unmoveable contract, and he's seriously whining about money and the salary cap? I haven't hated a Clippers player this much since Andre Miller!

Seriously? He was actually defending your idol. he was also talking about players taking pay cuts to play on a contender while the owners reap the rewards. The last CBA was about the owners losing money but when you have teams selling at a all-time highs, it seems the players are paying out of pocket for that. C'mon man, Dudley is a lot of things but he was complaining about himself making less money. jeesh.

like the last two @off guard.... Ariza is my first choice if they'd take Reddick, but they've got Beal already, and wouldn't move Barnes for Chandler, and def wouldn't be handing out any first rounders.... the two guys that need to be moved, albeit don't think Doc'll ever do it, are Reddick and Dudley, neither of which Denver needs.... think the team that needs to deal is Boston ?? they could use Reddick. ps. have no interest in Deng.

Yea, the guy was disappointing, but he's the last guy you'll hear complaining about being underpaid, he isn't an idiot.

I'm not that worried. If the Rockets don't match, they'll probably use the remaining money to sign Bosh, then get some cheap SF for the vet's min.

I'm still intrigued by the idea of trading for Gallinari.

If the Nuggets really are going to sign Mike Miller then do they really need both Gallinari and Wilson Chandler?

I'd think they'd like to get rid if his $10mil a year contract.

I wonder if his knee will be recovered in time for training camp.

I would love gallo but what would we trade for him? I could see them using crawford but Dudley or Barnes probably wouldn't have any value to them.

Its that time for me guys.... I'm going to give up on the trade idea's... I fear nothing is going to happen. This is the best case scenario(for me at least). Dud eats healthy... gets in shape.... gets his act together... and plays for us like he was supposed to. Blake will be improved. Dj will be improved... Plan for the worst.. hope for the best.

Apparently it's Dudley's birthday today. He's 29 and plays like he's 89.

GO GET DENG, why is it so hard for us to sign a real sf? Since Maggette we haven't had a real sf and even then Maggs was very one dimensional.

Because we don't have any money to spend..... you want a real SF? You have to spend real money. We only have minimum money to spend on guys. They'll be real....Real bench players.

We can't sign any "real" SF outright, if we could we could have done it. We have to do a sign and trade, and the teams we want to sign and trade with either don't care to help us / don't want any of our players or are currently focused on other players.

So we wait...

Cleveland has the best small forward rotation it's so unfair. It's bad I'm jealous of Cleveland.

I don't agree. We don't have a two way player in either of those positions (blake is obviously a special case). Crawford's game is not my cup of tea.

we were 14 in rebounds last year..

we need a rebounding sf and a rebounding big..

Yes to the small forward. We need blake to go back to his rebounding numbers for his first two years.

Not every player in the league has to be a two way player to be considered good.

That's might be the case if your judging a player on if they're a superstar or not, but it's highly unlikely that a team can have a roster full of two way players, in fact if there was one I'd like the chances of that team beating the 1992 dream team.

I'm saying we can't have the best shooting guard duo or one of the best if neither of them is a good defender.

CapsNClips
CTB MVP X1

But yes you can though. It's called being the best shooting guard duo in the league, that's kinda all it takes. There aren't rules about what the players have to be good at.

If you can name a better 2 guard rotation in the league then I'll concede. I promise.

Easy: dragic (shooting guard alongside Bledsoe) and Gerald green

They played alongside each other. When I said "2 guard rotation" I meant SG rotation not two guards.

Ummm Crawford and redick played alongside each other in stretches. Gerald was a backup e just started due to bledsoes injuries. I think my argument is totally valid that they are better.

Wade/Allen

Green/Belinelli

I have to disagree with green/belinelli put them on any other team and they would definitely not have the same impact

Your missing my point entirely. I'm not talking about playing along side each other. I'm talking look at each teams roster and at the SG position there should be one starter and one bench player listed at the spot. Which two players at the SG spot are better than Jamal and Redick. Obviously Bledsoe and Dragic don't count because they are both starters and one plays the PG spot.

Okay Wade and Allen are probably better, I can see that, but Green and Belinelli. No way, not a chance.
