Seems they have a log jam at the SG spot just like us.

I don't think we can help them with our players. I still wish there was some way we can get Tony from them.

Marion actually shot pretty well this year from behind the arc. I think the best he has his whole career.

It would have to be over 40% to be his career best. Marion is weird, he was a good three point shooter for some time, then he had a massive drop.

02-03 he shot 38.7% 3PT on 4.5 3PTA, that's really good, then he just gradually shot lower and lower until 08-09 where he shot 0.8 3PTA and made 18.9%, then he barely shot three's for a couple of years until randomly taking 2.1 a game last season and making 35.8%.

I've always liked Marion, so I remember trying to figure out what in the world happened to the guys 3PT shot. I don't think he had any sort of shoulder or elbow injury or anything like that.

Maybe a 3 way trade. MAYBE. Clippers sign Ed Davis Memphis Gets A PG from 3rd team ( Hornets - Pargo/Ridnour could be nice for Memphis...just a suggestion ) Hornets get Dudley to solve lack of SF depth....

Only way a team takes Dudley from us is if they are getting a 1st round pick or Jamal.

Does New Orleans have cap space though? They have a lot of expensive contracts for a young team, and I suppose they could still re-sign Aminu. They are weird though because they did just get Casspi, but there was news that they plan to waive him despite having poor SF depth. I don't get it.

I wonder if they plan on using Tyreke as a backup PG or backup SF.

It's also possible that Davis is looking at our roster and wondering where his minutes will come from

For a possible cost for Davis, Humphries just got 3 years /$13M from Washington, and Booker 2 years / $10M from Utah. I don't know about us paying our 4th big man similar type of money unless the management have secretly decided that DJ won't be re-signed or want insurance or something. That's a lot of money when we are still considering taking on a higher salary player at SF

Lol, yea, I didn't think they were very much in the position to be absorbing contracts. I was thinking in my head that Holiday, Evans, Gordon and Asik all made $10M+, then they have a #1 pick contract and Ryan Anderson. They are positioning themselves to be a nice two way team if health can be on their side, but I don't know if they can help us.

I think the Jazz have cap space and their backup SF's are like Jeremy Evans and Steve Novak, maybe them?

Ed Davis would be a huge addition for us. If we landed him I would have to say we would move above OKC in the west with only San Antonio blocking the route to a chip. Ed Davis + a defensive wing like Shumpert or Allan and we would be the favorite in the west.

Well if it means anything, last night I had a dream that they traded MKG to us.

a. I disagree. I would like to see a rugged defender/rebounder type.

b. You have to be under the cap to bid, which we are not, so we could only get him if no one bids on him.

Clippers remain interested in Glen Davis and Ed Davis. I feel its one or the other I'd like our options. We still need a SF though.

I think not, Boozer is a liability on both ends of the court

If the team can still get Davis.. that's easily the best frontcourt in the NBA.

Griffin/DJ/Hawes/Davis vs Griffin/DJ/Hollins/G Davis... is a MASSIVE upgrade. Insane improvement.

Last year Boozer averaged 13.7 points & 8.3 boards, his lowest totals since he was a rookie. Even with that there really isn't a player we can pick up that doesn't cost us either picks or a valuable player.

In light of us moving everyday without making a move at small forward you have to look for production at other positions.

Off the bench that means Crawford, Hawes and where? Boozer wouldn't be bad.

Now they say you need at least 1.4m in caps space to bid and I have no idea where we currently sit but if he clears waivers you never know. I would definitely take him!!

In my humble opinion, If we get Ed, & Dudley & Matt are healthy coming into the season, San Antonio is #1 but we'd have to be 1a. I know KD & Russ will keep improving in their youth but I believe Blake & DJ have even more room for growth. I like our team.

PS- My friend owes me a car wash because last offseason he bet me Houston would have more reg season wins than us. Two days ago we bet $50 between the Clips & Cavs having more reg season wins, but if they acquire Kevin Love the bet is off. What do you guys think. (I know $50 isn't a big deal but its more about pride.)

Tough to say. Lebron won 66 games before his prime with a worse cast AND it's in the east! I think Lebron in the east can easily win 60. Clippers on the other hand will have a pretty difficult time cracking 60 (as do all teams in the west). I'd lean Cavs even without Love. Cavs 62 wins, Clippers 60.

Can we really look at his averages in 28.2 MPG to project his value to this team? What does Boozer do? He is a scorer and mid-range shooter whose efficiency has tanked the past two seasons and who rebounds but is not a good defender. Is that really what we need to compliment our current big men? It would be hard to argue that.

1) Blake and DJ don't really miss games

2) Hawes actually also doesn't really miss games

3) Boozer was amnestied, only teams under the cap can big on amnestied players, we are not under the cap

4) If Boozer clears amnesty waivers, why would he choose a team without minutes for him?

PF: 48 minutes - Griffin 35-36 mins / Hawes 12-13 mins

C: 48 mintes - DJ 32-34 mins / Hawes 14-16 mins

Don't you think it will be hard to find minutes for Boozer in the rotation though? For our team set-up, Hawes is a much superior player on both ends, do you take minutes from Hawes to play Boozer? Blake? DJ? So where does he play? If you play Hawes only as a C, do you reduce DJ's minutes to accommodate Boozer and play Hawes only as C, so they split like 26/22? Okay, but still then Boozer is playing only 12-13 mins, is he content with that after just playing 28 MPG on a playoff team?

So now you sign a vet who has some idea of how many minutes he should be getting as he's never truly been a full on role player, and you give him a role he obviously won't be content with (which is why he wouldn't likely chose us if he cleared waivers). It's just not a wise move. You have to take all those things into account. If we had a different team dynamic though, Boozer might be an okay player to add, but for this team it's not really the right fit...not that he would clear amnesty waivers anyways.

I spoke to a few sports writers via e-mail. They think he'll pick the Clippers but they also said other teams want him. He may go where the money is. We'll see!

I was just told we our pursuing Big Baby more than Ed Davis. It comes down to who wants to play or get paid. It sounds like Big Baby wants to play. E.Davis wants to get paid. We'll know more by the end of the week.

Big Baby is still a very good pickup for the vet min. Obviously we'd all like Ed Davis more, but Baby is much more enticing now that we have Hawes than before we had Hawes.

A combo of Marion and either one of those PF's would be amazing. Marion is the hard part though.

Who else are the suitors for Marion? That might be what determines our fate.

Dallas can still offer him $2.7M, Mavs fans have been tweeting him to return. Bulls are supposedly talking to him, so I don't know.

Marion / Davis might be ideal right now, but getting Marion without moving one of Dudley or Barnes is weird. Marion/E.Davis/West. Backups could be Al-Farouq and maybe stash Emeka on the bench, give him a chance to get healthy, and he's another backup option for DJ if he is healthy and DJ becomes too expensive. That might require the team to sign a 5th big though and we might be smart to get a 3rd PG.

Chicago and us are the only title contenders that can offer him a starting gig.

I think Chicago can offer more, and he's from Chicago. I'd assume they have the edge.

Big Baby is not a bad option though for the vet min. We'd probably still have the best front court in the NBA.

Baby fits nicely with Hawes, not as nice as Ed, but still very nice.

If it's not 2mil per year, then the only thing I can make sense of is he'll get a lot more playing time which he probably wanted.

Bummer, he must seriously have some off the court issues if he took a 2yr/$2mil deal on a lottery team.

I have a feeling Doc passed on him, not the other way around. He probably called a few of his old coaches to get some intel.
