No a stupid trade for the mavericks in that they were taking a player who was overpaid and wouldn't help them. Dallas could have been cut immediately and given the Mavs savings.

Nice try with the cool story bro, lol. At least try to understand if there is a chance you are confused.

^^ this was the perspective of many people that it was bad for both sides and that Tyson wasn't that great. Tyson obviously had a lot to offer ( to evryone in hindsight), the stats didn't show it. He got in the right environment and it worked well.

yeah, when I meant old guys, I meant our old guys compared to our core. That's basically anyone over 30. By the way, I never mentioned Davis or Dudley as part of the old guys on our team. I mentioned players over 30 years.

It had nothing to do with stats. The Mavs realized they needed defense. They solved the puzzle and it paid off big.

Not really, because they had just been trying to trade for Al Jefferson. They just wanted a big who could provide more than Dampier (which was anything). They were happy to get him for defense but were really trying to get someone serviceable and that wouldn't kill their payroll. It all just ended up working way better than anyone anticipated with chandler and clearly he had more value than they realized when they let him to to free agency and then traded back for him. Tyson Chandler was considered somewhat of a mediocre big man at that time. Then when Dallas won the title he had value again. CP3 always did like chandler though, he valued him quite a bit and was pissed when they traded him for Okafor.

I know you didn't, I'm just adding them because they might as well be old guys. I know sometimes our mentioning of youth is also relative to athletic ability and length which Davis and Dudley do lack in.

The Mavs ran out of free agent options, they made the trade towards the end of free agency and got to dump Carroll and Najera as well as Dampier while getting a younger and better player even with injuries who still only had a one year contract. I honestly have no clue how your comment fit into the discussion or what stats have to do with anything that was being discussed or what I said. You just made an assumption on why I said it was a stupid trade and made some rant about random stuff.

You're weird man.
