This one is a huge but it won't be a cakewalk- New York has been playing pretty well. Let's see if EB can continue his great play while Tim Thomas and Cat Mobley continue their solid shooting. Look for Kaman to have a much better game, though he'll be going up against near-allstar Eddy Curry.

In my opinion is a very important game to consolidate us in the playoff berth...New York has very good players and you never know if they are going to have a big night...They have some players that when they are hot are very dangerous like Jamal Crawford or our loved Q...Let's hope a good game for Kaman after all the recent comments about his poor game

10 Point lead (halftime) has vanished into 7 points down near the end of the 3rd. The shots were not going in at all!! The Clips should put on the burners here and beat this team. Good to see Doug Christie and Aaron Williams playing a bit.

How is it that Elton ALWAYS disappears in the 4th quarter ????

It's not that he can't hit shots, it's like the team shys away from him, and doesn't call his play.

Damn, Maggette missed 2 free throws!!!! Clippers are throwing this one away.

Its gonna take some miracles now to win this one.

Q (not our Q) just hit a big 3 for the Knickerbockers. That dry spell of shooting in the 3rd quarter really is killing us.

Well I cant believe we lost this one!!! Was it bad shot selection?? Good Defense by the Knicks?? Lackluster play by the Clippers? Bad playcalling by Dunleavy??

I have no clue, because I seen a 10 point lead dissappear in the matter of me going to the grocery store two blocks away. Then I hoped we'd come back and tie it up at least, but we never did. Bad defense? I dunno. But they didnt get the job done against the Knicks. I know they've been playing well, but thats no excuse.

Positives: Kaman bounced back offensively, Thomas hardly missed (wow, can he keep it up??), Brand was rebounding and scoring and dishing out assists as usual, and Livingston had some good stats, we still are in the playoff chase (as of now)

Negatives: We Lost, No Singleton, No Ewing, Maggette didnt score much, Mobley didnt score i think, I have no idea if Ross played much cuz he had 1 assist and 1 rebound and no points forever, & we had a chance to gain ground on Denver and didnt.

Synapsis: Just wondering if Dunlavey gets fired if we miss the playoffs?? Then again its not always about the Xs and Os...its more about the Willies and the Joes.

Will the Clippers remain happy in mediocrity or start committing to competing for a title every year?? Thats been the question of their existence. Regardless, we wear the Clipper Blue and Red.

LETS BEAT THE CAVS Tomorrow!!!

I'm just baffled. Clippers couldn't hit the Ocean in the 3rd, but they were doing what they had to do in the 4th, but couldn't get the stops.

This one slipped away. We HAVE to steal one tomorrow

Eddy Curry just manhandled the Clippers- they had no solution for him and had to double him and the Knicks punished LA big time for it by knocking down their 3's, especially late. The defensive rotation for the Clippers was a step slow which didn't help matters. Kaman played much better but Dunleavy didn't leave him out there enough- only 23 minutes. You'd think that he'd be out there more to slow down Curry.

Also in games where both Cassell AND Mobley struggle (ZERO point for Cat tonight) it usually has a bad outcome for the Clippers and that was the case tonight. Sam shot too much (ZERO assist), made too few (3 for 7 free throws???!), and Mobley was just out there going through the motions and did pretty much nothing. Still Cat played 29 minutes- Maggette probably should've taken more of his minutes tonight. Corey played only 17 minutes- yikes- he's not going to be happy about that. In fact Doug Christie played 21 minutes. Doug did okay- he did good on D but was pretty rusty with his shots.

Other than EB, the bright spots have to be Tim Thomas and Shaun Livingston. Tim was terrific again- he must have a knack for hurting his former teams. Did you guys see that vicious dunk he had in the first half? WOW. Also other than some head-scratching turnovers, Livingston played GREAT. He stole the ball a ton of times, had several more deflections and blocks. On offense he was under control and presented himself as a credible scorer out there. Let's hope Shaun can keep it up while keeping those silly, careless turnovers down.

Now the Cavs- you'd think that'd be a tougher game than tonight. The Clippers are now in some serious danger of having a disastrous road trip. At this point I think 3 and 4 would be successful, but something like 2 and 5 is a real possibility.

I agree- Dunleavy would have a lot of accountability if the Clippers don't make the playoffs. But then again I doubt Donald Sterling would fire him so soon- it'd be a really expensive "waste", but who knows he's been really generous lately.

In the 3rd quarter when they couldn't hit diddly you'd think that guys would drive to the basket and get fouled or something but they kept shooting jumpers. I think Sam will be the first to say that the 3rd quarter was mostly his fault. As a PG he didn't get his teammates involved enough. He's probably really pissed- we'll probably see a much better game from him tomorrow.

Wow, we lost to the Knicks. Our team really does suck. : |

Seriously, I think this team can be helped out a lot through free-agency and the lottery if things keep up.

This team is killing me. Just when you think they have it together, they go out on the road and lose two games that they needed. I could forgive the Toronto game because the Raptors were extremely hot shooters that afternoon. But this game was unexcusable. There is no way that this team should have lost to the Knicks. They play a good first half with a lot of energy. They made pretty good decisions with the ball and seemed to be on their way to a victory. Then they come out in the third quarter and totally forget about what got them the lead in the first place. They were settling for way too many outside jumpers. They were not sharing the ball at all. There were way too many quick shots. It seemed like their guards...Cassell, Mobley, and Maggette came out and wanted to get theirs. All of them were jacking up outside shots and seemed to be unwilling to give the ball up to their teammates.

People complain about Kaman not doing a good job. The problem is, when he does have it going, the team does not give him enough shot opportunities. He had fourteen points tonight and he only had 7 shot attempts. He was having a very efficient offensive game...especially by his standards so far this year. Instead of the team coming out and going to him more in the second half, the guards settle for outside shots. I would much rather have Brand or Kaman working inside and kicking it back out for open outside jumpers, then Mobley dribbling for the whole shot clock and launching a shot from outside.

I really don't think it's that hard to see. This is were a leader like Cassell needs to demand that the ball go inside. Dumbleavy needs to sit guys down if they aren't following the game plan. Brand had 19 shots tonight...he should have had 25. Kaman had 7...he should have had 12 at least. If the big guys are having a good night, get them the damn ball. The Clippers are build on the inside out game...but some of the players have a hard time following that. Doug Christie may have had a bad shooting night at 1 for 5, but at least he played pretty smart. He got his shots with the inside out game. He was willing to be patient and get his shots from the offense, instead of the other guards trying to make their own offense.

I really don't get this team this season. I still think something needs to be done to shake things up. The trade deadline is a little more than two weeks away...I'm hoping that the Clippers are open to making a move. Right now they have the talent; the problem is the talent isn't meshing and the game plan isn't being followed.

I agree they do have the talent, but I feel that Dumbleavy doesn't know how to use it all. He is so focused nd convinced about defense, that he forgets about the offense. I wasn't to crazy when we locked him for an extension.

Idon't think the Clippers are going to make any deals before the dealine comes up. It's a shame we couldn't get Mike Miller.

We can win with this team, but they doen't really buy into Dmbleavy's system.

What's up with Brand only getting or taking 1 shot again in the 4th?

It seems that the contract extensions for Dumleavy and Kaman were both dependent on each other. Kaman didn't want to sign without assurances Dumleavy would be here and Dumleavy wanted to get the Kaman extension done first before his was completed. Now both are here for years to come, but so far, both are big underachievers. Maybe Dumleavy even allows Kaman to be an underachiever. Who knows?

I agree man!! I think our lack of driving to the basket is exactly the reason we dont win when we shoot bad. too many jumpers. This isnt college basketball, right?? lol. I am interested to see if Quinton Ross can drive to the hoop. If he can defend some of the best players in the league, he can drive to the hoop. Guillermo Diaz needs to be signed either now or in the offseason. That guy is a firecracker who dunks, drives, and is amazinly quick. Cassell and Mobley are the kind of guys who have to burn the other team when our offense gets active inside with guys like Kaman, Brand, Singleton and Maggette.

You cant always shoot good, but getting inside shots to Kaman and Brand and driving to the hole is a great way to improve that percentage when the jumpers arent falling. I remember listening to practices when I was a ball-boy/videotaper at Division 2 Indiana Tech, and the coach always talked about making the other team settle for jumpers by not giving them the lanes to drive. Is that what other teams are doing to us, or are we not trying to get better kinds of shots?? I dunno.
