| I just heard on ESPN radio 710, that Marc Stein believes Brand will end up in a 76ers uniform. The rationale being, that there's less competition there, where Brand can take advantage of his talents more so than in the Wild Wild West. Brand, Dalembert, Miller and if Iggy stays, will form a solid nucleus for the 76ers, and an instant playoff contender, barring crucial injuries of course. Like i've stated in my previous topics, if Brand leaves he is a phony. If and when Brand leaves, the Clips will now have alot of money to pursue another free agent talent, although i don't see anyone available that could step in and fill Brand's shoes. Brand's departure will leave a gaping hole at the PF position no doubt, and if the team stays pat and there are no further acquisitions then we'll be fighting with our dying breaths for the 8th spot come April. |

Well if he leaves Davis and the rest of the guys are gonna be bummed and angry. Especially Davis i would imagine seeing as he came here to help the clippers be a contender assuming he would have Brand by his side.....I think it's all talk....lets hope.
Also why would it matter if it's easier in the east. Yeah they probably would make the playoffs easier but still have to face the few great east teams. Nothing guaranteed. |

| brand will not go to Phili. To play with Miller, which he already did with the Clippers. That didn't work. I really think this is all a smoke screen to void any possible tampering scandal between Davis, Brand, and Dunleavy. Brand will put his John Hancock on paper soon. They just have to make the whole thing believeable. If by some chance he does leave he will be leaving for another team that is not in as good a position as the Clippers to make a run at a title over the next few years. |

another article....yet again. Thought you guys might want to read it just to pass the time lol.
Sixers Really in the Mix? Depending on whom you talk to Elton Brand is either getting ready to receive a huge max offer from the Philadelphia 76ers, or they could give that money to Josh Smith, or Brand is considering Golden State, or he will do what the plan was all along and stay with the L.A. Clippers for less money in an effort to build a winner with the newly committed Baron Davis.
Just remember, none of this is set in stone until the ink dries on the contracts. If Brand bolts to another locale, everything could go to hell in a handbasket very quickly for the Clippers. Remember, part of the reason Davis verbally committed to the Clips was to play with Brand. There is quite a bit of talk around the fact the duo had already committed to each other, but money always talks and Brand should at least listen. Maybe.
So what if Brand leaves? Then what? Davis and the Clippers are not formally obligated to each other – a verbal commitment is good and should be enough, but it's not legally binding. Davis has professed a desire to win as part of his reasoning for joining the Clippers; without Brand this team will not be good at all, even with the addition of Davis. Given that, wouldn't it be in everyone's best interests to walk way? Well, sort of. Davis is committed to being in L.A. because of his off-court interests, and the money is more than anyone else would have given him. But would it effectively counter his desire to win, or would he think about a contract somewhere else instead? If Brand leaves, the Clippers would probably rather not give Davis all that money and instead start to look at more inexpensive talent.
It could happen, though the most likely event – despite what anyone else says – is Brand staying in L.A. Brand not staying would require some re-thinking for all parties involved. |

| One day Marc Stein writes an article saying Brand will stay in LA. the next day he says Brand will go to Philly. Marc Stein is just trying to keep his job because this is the offseason, and there aren't too many basketball stories. This is all he can talk about. |

| Even if EB left, I don't think that the Baron Davis deal is overpriced. In fact, I thought we got a bargain. Well, a bargain if Baron stay healthy. But that is the case with any player to sign to a long term deal. |
