New short blurb I found this morning on the situation.
The LA Clippers got their first piece of business done, signing and introduction Baron Davis. Besides playing damage control on Elton Brand, the Clips have been busy talking with restricted free agents such as Josh Smith (Hawks), Emeka Okafor (Bobcats) and now Andris Biedrins (Warriors). All three players can have offers matched by their respective teams, although of the three Josh Smith seems the most obtainable because of Atlanta's ownership situation. According to sources near Smith's camp, Josh is not sold that the Clippers are a better situation for him than the Hawks. In Smith's case an offer from or the hint of a real offer from the Clippers might simply be leverage to get the Hawks to the table on a real deal. The $60 million given to Andrew Bogut this week by the Bucks, sets the bar for front court players like Biedrins and Okafor, but also for Smith. The Clippers are also saying they will re-open discussions with Shaun Livingston about returning, but have renounced his rights meaning he has to fit under the cap space the team has. Livingston has talked with several teams including the Denver Nuggets. Clippers President Andy Roser said yesterday that his team would be talking to a number of players, and would regroup to make some final decisions, hinting that offers were not coming any time soon. |

Doesn't seem that Smith likes the look of our team. He has also stated that he wants to remain with the Hawks but we all know how much weight that carries. Guess we'll have to see what happens.
What's everyone's thought on Biedrins? I don't know anything about this guy so is he like the 3rd option....at least our opinions? |

Another key statement to highlight "offers were not coming any time soon". Crap, I hate to wait any longer. |

| Yeah forgot about that last one. I'm will you hate to have to wait longer to see which of our other players will be coming back. I'm assuming nothing will be done about them until we complete our PF search. That way they'll know what figures they have left over to spend. |

| They are saying by Monday they will start with the offering contracts are trying to work out trades after they evaluate everything over the weekend. But it looks like unless we offer big money okafur and smith will not be joining us unless we give up some draft picks in the future or something. Because now the bobcats are saying they will match low offers they are testing the market. |

Well the whole (no name) caught the fo off guard. I think they are evaluating who fits with what scheme. I have heard BD is involved in the process and will help with recruiting. Thats why it will take until the weekend is over. And they are only working with 12 mil. |

I think it's better to think it over the weekend. Some of us, including myself, keep changing our minds on who to pick up and what to do. Today is probably is or will be the real last day of Brand is an douche coiming from the team and media. They will let the past be the past and look at their options. If they take a step back, as they said, they can evaluate what each player brings to the table and who will be the better fit. No need to rush into anything. Us and the Grizzlies are the last teams with big money to do something (and I don't think the Grizz will) so no one is going anywhere.
No need to rush |

I'm okay with Biedrens. He put good numbers playing with Baron in GS. He does the things Okafor does (boards, some scoring), except he's younger, more potential, less injury-prone and might be had cheaper. |

| I hope they are looking at all the options im curious as to what there thinking. I dont really believe smiths camp as they are trying to squeeze money out of whatever team they play for. Hence being he was having a prob in atlanta throughout the year. Okafur is likely going back to Charlotte. But I think biedris was playing out of position in golden state maybe he might fill the plug. Any thoughts on what we should offer or how much he is worth. he is young and raw and good friends with bd. |

| The other thing with Biedris is the Warrior have a couple other young big men that could fill if he leaves (ie W Wright, O Bryant, Randolph (i think he is the guy they drafted this year)...) |

Bieds numbers last year. Same age as josh smith. But only averaged 20 min a game. Could be solid but would he be able to give us 30 min a game. But the numbers are great for 20. |

| jarca, Beidrens for MLE would be great. But he is worth a lot more than that. Tyson Chandler (who you've brought up) is getting $11M for next year. His numbers are 8.0ppg and 10.3rpg. Biedrens numbers are 10.5ppg and 9.8rpg. He's probably worth closer to Chandler money. |

| Im actually starting to like bieds. The last month while GS was making there playoff push he put up 14pg, 13.5r, and 1.5 blocks averaging alittle over 30 min a game. I wonder if the FO are looking some of the players we are. |

his stats is inflated thought due to the up tempo ball they play |

How can somebody think that Biedrins could sign for the MLE!!!!???A center who averages 10 points,10rebounds will get 9-10 mil$ easily. If it's about posting unreal situations let's keep on posting our fantasy dreams where we can sign any player for cheap...
Man, I'm reading some comments and I think it's time to become more serious...Every hour someone post a new unnecessary player. I'ver read Vince Carter, Marcus Camby,Vujacic...wow. It seems like if people don't know we don't have ANY solid option for the PF position. We only have Tim Thomas...We need a PF!!!!Not more SFs,neither SGs,nor PGs!!! |
