Ode to brand
It seemed like yesterday you put on that red white and blue
You came to us by chance and you made this guy’s dream come true
You brought respect to this franchise with your character and grace
But you left unexpectedly when you said you wouldn’t … now
You wallow in disgrace.
Why would you do this to us when all we have been was loyal to you
Money? Property? Prestige ? is that what it was? I don’t have a clue
It seemed like yesterday you came close to delivering us a title
You gave it your all and in my eyes nothing was more vital
You brought hope to this franchise with skill and determination
But you left abruptly when you said you wouldn’t … now you uplifted
our foundation
Why would you do this to us after you strung us along with hope
Cold weather? Closer to home? The easy path? Tell me cause I feel like a dope
It Seemed like yesterday I was praising your character on and off the court
but today in comparison with common player you now fall short
you brought everything to this franchise that you cannot take along
so now you leave with tattered image of a hypocrite… and of a man that did us wrong
Why would you do this to us when all we have been was loyal to you

Dear Elton,
Thank you for the wonderful years you have put in our organization. You have worked hard and carried a very heavy workload throughout, you have thrown Clipper fans somewhat of a rope to hold on to. For many reasons still unclear to most you have decided to leave LA and join the 76ers. You have cut any rope there was for us to hold and now we are here dumbfounded. We are DIE HARD CLIPPER FANS, YOU MADE US CLIPPER FANS, YOU CARRIED THAT WAIT. But now that you're gone, now what? Now what do we hold on to..? It is not your responsibility to think of that, and many people are flaming any likes of you, but i cherish the moments we had with you. I cherish our struggle together. I will struggle with the Clippers without you know and it seems unreal, but being Brand-less will not phase me into leaving Clipper Nation. I guess WE are stronger than YOU. However, I do wish you well with your soon to be new family, which may have encouraged you to leave LA and go to the East.
- ps there is a side of me that says you dug yourself into a hole, the East is getting stronger and you will have to play against the likes of the new Knicks, Howard "Superman" and the Magic, Marion and Shaq from the Heat, "Sheed" and the Pistons, Bulls, Cavs, not to mention Garnnett and the Champions. I hope you feel like you made the biggest mistake of your life, and I hope the Basketball god puts an ease to the life of being a Clipper fan. He has tested the Clipper Nation strength and this is by far the hardest test.
- pps. Now that I think about it I wanna recite a **universal** prayer: Father, help us stand together as brothers and sisters to strengthen each other in times of weakness. Help us overcome this obstacle and lead us to glory.
