Totally unexpected signing to see our Warriors pick up Maggette. He doesn't really fill much of a need for us, it would seem. My perception is he is better that Jason Richardson. Would love to hear what you think about him.
Specifically wondering:
1. Defense
2. Ballhanding - ability to create own shot
3. Assist #'s are terrible - can he make plays for anyone
4. Heart. He's been on many losing campaigns - does he care ?
5. How money is his jumper ? |

| exactly what i was just saying to myself. only thing he can help you guys with is. getting to the freethrow line. and scoring. thats about it. and he will hate it if he has to come off the bench |

| His defense is pretty sketchy along with his ball handling skills but the guy will get you 20+ points a game somehow. He never really had a 3 point shot but seem to have one last season. I guess he's a great player to have off the bench to give you those bench point and energy. He definitely loves to drive the lane and get to the line. I don't think he'll disappoint. We just really had no need for him anymore but after losing brand we could use his scoring ability and to strengthen our bench whether him or Al starting. |

lets not forget TURNOVERS!
1. defense: disappears on D. waits for the attack.
2. decent ball handling, but its nothing to praise. uses it only when he's slashing the paint.
3. he's definitely a team player, but yeah he doesnt put himself in positions to pass the ball. he'll get you TONS of foul shots. its his best attribute.
4. corey is a true professional, he'll never let you down there. he plays his heart off.
5. corey's got pretty good range. pretty streaky from the outside. |

You want to know about Maggette. Sigh. Fine, here it is. He is an okay man defender, gets lost on team D sometimes though he really is not a liability. His ballhandling is good with his right (excellent first step) but going left is a problem for him, moreso in clutch situations. He has his moments when it comes to passing, though it's not really his game; solid at best but not great. He never dogged it when he was on the floor, though he wasn't crazy coming of the bench. He plays with heart. His jumper (and shot selection) has much improved, though he is primarily a slasher who takes plenty of FTA.
Overall, he fits well in a Nellie system. $50M over five is a tad steep but not killer. Now kindly get off the boards. Clipper fans for the most part left Warrior fans alone in their grief, we want to be in ours, you classless turd. |

Thanks all - I've seen him several times - but didn't realize he was so terrible. I hope ESPN's latest report of him being a lower deal than initially reported is right.
Good luck with Baron. He is a stud and will be missed. You guys started this whole mess with the *wink* double opt out thing at the 11th hour, so can't say there is much sympathy in warrior land. I would worry a bit that without Brand - and under Dunleavy - Baron might regress back to his injury/sulky ways pretty fast.
See you in the Josh Smith sweepstakes. I suspect we'll both come up with snakeyes on that one too. |

You don't seem to understand. There never was any collusion. Obviously you have no clue.
David, do you take requests on deleting certain threads? Because this thread serves no purpose but to showcase one GSW fan's stupidity. |

all good if you want to get into name calling - that is not how we roll in nor cal.
The bottom line is that baron was firm about coming back to GSW - even said it on the dan patrick show just days before the opt out - but then, at 4pm the day of the deadline he suddenly opts out - and 24 hours later he is under contract with the clippers. Perhaps I have no clue and am stupid - but that sure doesn't smell right. |

It's a valid thread JM- no biggie- he just wanted to ask about Maggette, and obviously still is upset over Baron leaving. |

| Completely right, I take it back. Open discussions are always better then taking the ball and going home. My apologies, just very upset over all this. |
