I know it was a great shock that Elton Brand basically turned the lights out and left the Staples Center. I was at work when I found out (went to a near television set and was watching the ESPN news ticker). Brand basically played us for fools and left. But we clippers fans must realize a few things...we have players who can step up! With the loss of Brand and Maggette, we've lost a player who can score 20pts & 10reb a game and another who can score 22pts...but we have players who can flourish with the recent departures: Al Thornton showed everyone that he can score like any other...many compared his game to LeBron James*. Can basically score at will, as well as, rebound. He will step up his game now that he doesnt have to stand behind someone elses shadows, it's his time! Eric Gordon is a player that the Clippers have long since looked for. A guard that can score at will and can muscle it out with the best of them. Look for Gordon to step up and play both PG and SG. He will start off slow but will elevate his game. The acquisition of Baron Davis only shows that the Clippers are "ok". B'Davis can score and can be the new leader of the team and show Al and Eric to step up. Kaman will be able to now command the post. Kaman can be dominant and will be now that EB is gone. Kaman showed that he can score the short range game with a sweet jumper now on his arsenal. Cuttino & Thomas will step up as well (if healthy) DeAndre Jordan will be a value to the team. Now that EB and Maggette are out of the picture...it's not about the personnel on the team that will be of value, but what system that will be utilized to enhance each player's capabilities. Now that we've gone smaller, I believe we can be more of a run and gun offense with a mixture of post-up game. Before it was more focused on the middle, but now that we basically have real shooters, hoping the system changes, we'll be a team to be reconed with.

If the Clippers elect to the run offense, expect them to sign Josh Smith. He is what the team needs to make the team more on the above average team. We might be able to be on the chase to the 8th seed in the playoffs this season, but expect the Clippers to have a few bumps and bruises and not make it to the playoffs because of lack of experience and youth.

Seriously...Im glad EB and Maggette is gone.

Im now looking forward to see what Al, B'Davis, Eric can do now...and the rest of the players can do to step up!!!!!

IM A MOFFO**IN' CLIPPER FAN FOREVERRRRR!!!!

Corey needed to go. Everyone knew that and thought it a good idea. I'm glad he got a good contract and I'll still applaud. EB on the other hand sounds like pond scum.Remember everyone thought Kobe was a nice guy. In any case it just makes us want to fight harder
