from Shaun Livingston's Blog - Dated July 11, 2008
____________________________________________________
Whats up family, friends and fans! An update on my progress-Im working out in chicago and have began participating in contact drills! Im too hype just to play again and to challenge somebody other than myself, EXCITING! Thank all of you again for best wishes and prayers!! I still have a ways to go to get to where I want to be with my athletic ability, but youth is my friend for now!! As far as my contract goes, I am now a free agent and will be working out for other NBA teams in the next 2 months. The clippers have shown interest in bringing me back, but I feel I must evaluate my situation and see what's best for my future, especially with Elton Brand moving onto Philly. These are exciting times for me and Im just anxious to be competing again, I tell people, and Im telling you, I FEEL BLESSED! And that I am.....I can not thank everybody that visits this website enough for keeping up with my progress...Best wishes to you all and take care
Until next time..... |

Hmmm I have the feeling if someone offers him as much as we do he'll go with the other team. We also still of Knight under contract and have draft prospect Mike Taylor. (not officially on the team (or is he) but he's fighting for one) Not great PG's but PG's none the less. I don't think he wants to play the role position for 4-5 years which I guess he would with Barron on our team. With the last interview he did he sounded a bit like he does in his blog.
Does anyone else get the impression he might sign with someone else if given the opportunity? |

Yes but I don't blame him. He doing what is best for his future and I'm sure we will miss the Clippers fans unlike that (beep) B Ball loser... |

yeah, at least livingston and maggette said that they might not stay on the clips. unlike brand who said specifically that he intends to stay. i still have my maggette jersey, i gave my brand jersey away.
anyways, i cant see livingston on our team unless me make a trade including brevin knight.
we already have 3 pg's soi dont see him in the clips unless he's in the knicks trade for randolph. |

Yeah I agree. If I were him, playing for a team where he can compete for a starting position would be my first choice. With us, he'll never be anything other than a back-up for the next few years. If he develops into what we envisioned, it'll be a major disappointment. Not that it would of been our fault we lost him, just bad timing.
but on the side note, he's been a great guy and has worked so hard for so long it'd be a shame for him to fall of the charts as a bust. He deserves a second chance. |

I also heard an interview on the radio a few days ago. I got the same impression as the blog: that he leans towards leaving (made me wince!) but is still staying the "right" things.
I really hope he stays (I guess I just want the LAC FO to be proven right about picking and sticking with him). He's a class act.
I secretly hope they trade Brevin (nothing against him) to make a spot available for Shaun. |

| ^^^Yeah we don't need Knight with Taylor and Shaun. As well nothing against him just could use his spot for Shaun and keep Taylor around Davis to pick up some stuff. Maybe Knight was one player in the proposed trade to the Knicks seeing as he'd be a decent back-up for them |

He's not coming back... I listened to an interview on 570 KLAC Thursday with Joe McDonnell and he was specifically asked about how he felt about the Clippers renouncing his rights…He kinda gave the PC answer and said that he figured that was going to happen but when they asked him if he wanted to re-sign with the Clippers, he paused and basically said he was looking forward for to a fresh start. He added that he thought that it would be best for him to go somewhere to start fresh BUT that he was thankful for every thing the CLippers organization has done for him…
HE IS NOT GOING TO RESIGN!
I was really hoping that he was going to answer that differently but he made it extremely clear… |

^^^well i guess that's all the info we need. Though you never know, it's clear he intends to leave.
I don't blame him only because of our current starting PG situation is filled for some time. |

| ^^I listened to the interview too but it sounded to me that he left open the possibility to return, and seemed excited at a chance to play alongside Baron Davis. He said that at times Baron can play SG and he can play the point. |

| WHERE IS THE F*CKIN LOYALTY IN SPORTS??? IF A TEAM IS PAYING YOU MILLIONS OF DOLLARS WHEN YOU'RE INJURED... AND THEY'RE PAYING YOU TO GET BETTER... DON'T YOU OWE IT TO THEM TO PLAY FOR THEM WHEN YOU COME BACK??? ELTON JUDAS BENEDICT BRAND was paid 15 MILLION DOLLARS from CLIPPER FANS HARD EARNED MONEY Last year to play 8 meaningless games so he can showcase himself for another team. Shaun Livingston has been paid MILLIONS To get better... he got better on CLIPPER FANS' HARD EARNED MONEY. and then he might LEAVE? Have any of us been PAID MILLIONS of dollars by our companies to stay at home when we're sick and then when we get better, we move to a different company??? WTF???!!!!!!! |

| If he would have said that he hopes the Clippers resign me and that it would be a great experience to play with Baron, I would have thought differently. He could have at least said..well this is a business and as much as I would like to return to the clippers it just might not be the best situation for me. Plus he said that we would really like to start fresh (In those words exactly) so that doesn't give me the idea his first choice is the Clippers. Believe me, the last thing I want to see is SHaun sign somewhere else and become the player we all hoped he'd be. His blog also said that he would be working out for OTHER teams in the next two months. It is becoming harder and hardfer to stay true to the clippers because we can't catch a break. Maybe if Sterling would for once spend as much money as Jerry Buss we could compete with the Lakers. THe Clippers could spend up to 71 million this year and still NOT pay luxury taxes. THe Lakers will spend at least that and most likely be going deep into the playoffs. That's the difference. BUT Sterling will NET a bigger profit than Jerry Buss and that is what Sterling is concerned with. |

Right now Shaun is a confused young man who doesn't know what to believe at the moment. He does not have a job. He does not have a contract offer from anyone. He does not as yet have his knee back. He is not cleared to even practice with a team. And won't have any of his questions answered for some time. The longer he waits, and the stronger he gets, the better for him. The stronger he gets, the offers will go up. Right now he doesn't really have a lot of confidence in himself or his future. If he plays again, will he ever be able to play PG again?

| If Mike Taylor performs as well as the team hopes he can. Livi probably won't be back. |

| Don't forget Shaun is a kid. He knows nothing but B Ball. He doesn't have a college education (Scholar athlete - what a joke). He went from a promising superstar to a broke down cripple and I'm sure fears using that knee again. Major confusion. If he can't play the best he could hope for is a high school coach right now unless he has other skills. It sounded like he understood the team's rational and would come back with the right deal |

| I'd be surprised if Shaun was healthy enough to play more then 10 minutes per game this season. I'd say we sign him for 2 years. With 3 other PG's, we can afford to wait on him. I don't remember the last time we went through a season without at least 2 of our PG's getting hurt, so it's good to have depth. |
