I am 24 years old and never felt this sad in recent memory. I have always respected this man's game and his character on/off the court. His decision does not make me feel angry whatsoever and I will explain why.

His decision is CLEARLY not about money as some keep saying it is. If it was about the money then he would have went to Golden State.

The competition in the East is not as competitive as it is on the West every single night. There are more big men in the Western Conference and you play your conference twice as much as the other.

This team made the playoffs without him last year, they are only getting better.

Andre Miller plays EB's style. Some may say that when they played with the Clippers together that one horrible year it didn't work, and I agree. They are both improved players and there is a much better supporting cast on this team than there was that one year.

Am I upset? Absolutely. He led me and every Clipper fan believe it was his "intention" to stay. That is a whole lot different than saying he is going to say. He asked the Clippers to get a quality PG and they responded getting the best PG available. I was very excited to see them two of them play together, BUT...I honestly don't think their games match. Baron Davis is an uptempo type player and Brand is not. As upset as I am EB leaving the team, I am not angry. This opens up the door to get Josh Smith, who is def not as good as Brand, BUT is the type of player that would be perfect in an up tempo game ran with Baron Davis.

Imagine having Josh Smith and Al Thornton on the other end of Baron Davis' alleyoops!! Kaman is a strong post presence. I wouldn't mind going after Josh Smith and a solid 3 point shooter to start in the back court. Who knows? This can be a blessing in disguise...We should think positive.

I really need to urge you guys to not with bad things on Elton Brand. He is still a class act in this league and he was a proud Clipper. I will not be booing him when he makes his visit as a 76er at the STAPLES Center next year and I urge you all to cheer when his name is announced in the starting lineups as well.

At the end of the day, it's a business, right? He opted out and chose the team he thought had a better chance at winning a shot....who are we going to fool....its so much harder getting into the playoffs in the Western conference than the East...then when youre in its even tougher getting through. I am upset, but I understand the business and personal decision the man made.

Excellent post. I can't picture cheering him when he comes back, but maybe I'll feel differently in a few months. For sure, we need to keep positive. Calling him names and wishing him ill won't change his decision. Remember that hating someone is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die. Okay, here goes: Elton Brand, good luck getting yours. I hold no ill will towards you or yours. While I think you are making a mistake, it's your decision and I hope you can live with it.

Well put mashian. But unless he has a DARN GOOD explanation for this he will get boo'ed- LOUDLY, and his image would- actually already is- tarnished. It would have been better for him to man up instead of saying all these things that made us and the Clippers believe that he was going to stay.

Agreed. He def should have said he is going to look at his options, but again, he said his intention was to stay, but that doesn't mean much. I truly believe that he saw a younger team in the 76ers, the ability to keep their core intact, and again the competition in the East and compared it to the Clippers where they will lose Mobley and Tim Thomas, who knows how Baron Davis will play (healthy?), style of play, maybe Dunleavy was the reason why he left...I havent heard any bad things about Maurice Cheeks (met him on several occasions-great guy) and we all know about Dunleavy....

I agree he should have said something about weighing his options, but he never said he was staying, he said his intention was to stay

Let's just hope we can steal Josh Smith away and Deandre Jordan is the second coming of dwight howard.

exactly, i wouldnt have a problem with him if he actually spoke to the clippers FO or made it clear what his real intentions were. but the truth is, he left us stranded - and ill never forgive him for that. he straight up disrespected the clippers organization AND fans.

for that i'll be the one booing the loudest.

btw, corey's getting a standing ovation when i see him play with GSW.

BULL ****!!!! Everyone knew Corey was leaving. He made it clear he was shopping.

Brand wasn't weighing his options, I think he was waiting for the right team. He slimed us. Remember the photo with him and Davis him implying they wre to be team mates? Sincerity BS. The only defense could be that someone said or did something that tee'd him off. If we knew he wanted out maybe we would have overpaid Udrich to get him. Now we have an injury prone primo don who will have a large paycheck when he's 32 and MAYBE no one to compliment him I don't get it. This team could have beaten any team on a given day except Boston

Smith is the guy. We need someone to help Chris in the post otherwise he's a waste of talent. Do you remember Mr "Grand's" comment about Sam. He said he was disappointed and angry Sam left. What a disgusting two face. He at least owes us an explanation as to why he left except of course anything that breaks business or personal confidence but I doubt seriously we'll get it. I'll be pissed at him for a long time and animals are the most dangerous when pissed or wounded.

"Whatever doesn't break your back makes you stronger" and I don't see any broken backs around here

I think what hurts the most is brand has still not said anything. This makes me feel weird about him. You would think that by now he would have least said sorry to all of us that put our heart, soul, and faith in him. We were the ones who put him as the cornerstone of our franchise. Even if he were never to win a championship with us we would finally have a jersey to hang in the staple center rafters. Once word got out Baron had signed with us he turned around and gave thanks to the fans. Were is our thanks right now. This is a business but like any other your judged by how you conduct yourself and he conducted himself to be what he really is a liar and a jerk. Sorry but no matter what he says i will never welcome him back to wherever the clippers play. Hope he and david faulk are both happy now.

I know but wouldn't you have felt better yesterday if you heard the BS instead of him keeping quiet. I guess this really is not about the fans anymore.
