Quote:
Whispers inside the organization grow louder by the day that Marbury will be bought out of the final year of his contract. But Walsh is still exploring trade scenarios on all fronts, with Eddy Curry , Zach Randolph, David Lee and Jamal Crawford all being shopped, before he can comfortably cut ties with the Knicks' lightning rod.

It's still tough to speak about other players but if we don't want to spend a lot of money landing Okafor or Josh Smith, because IMO they don't deserve so much money, I think David Lee could fill this position for cheap and doing a nice job. The problem is that we don't have any player that could be considered for the Knicks.

Yeah David Lee would be great- he could play some PF too. But yeah because of salary cap we may well have to go for the big names for now, and if we can't get them, Lee is should be an option- maybe for a future 1st rounder.

David Lee is decent, but will not help us get to the playoffs. He is more of a role player. I wouldn't mind him if he was relatively cheap.

Any trade with the Knicks will involve some of their pricey baggage. From what I've heard they are willing to part with Lee if you take someone like Marbury, Randolph, or Curry as well. they want to dump salary. They are trying CONvince someone to take on a bad contract with Lee as added piece for taking on the bad contract.
