Be sure to podcast the last hour of the Loose Cannons........
Clippers had a deal........CLIPPERS were given an ultimatum, Sterling couldn't be reached.
Elton asked for something small, and management said no.
He was talking to Davis about the situation, so Baron Davis was aware.
EB said it was about repsect, and he feel that he didn't get that from the CLIPPERS.
It was a take it or leave it attitude from mgmt which leads me to believe that it was the President, and not Sterling or Elgin Baylor.
Philly gave Elton everything they had to offer, and the CLIPPERS didn't.
Plain & Simple is what he is saying.
For the 1st few days when the CLIPPERS were the only one to offer him, mgmt couldn't be reached, there was no sense of urgency from the CLIPPERS.
When other teams started offering, then the CLIPPERS started saying we'll work on it, we'll get back to you.
CLIPPERS gave Brand an ultiamtum, Brand asked can you do this, they said no, and then he went on his way.
Sorry if I am rambling, I am trying to speed type while Brand is talking and explaining things.

| I think he's full of it. That's not the bitterness talking. Come on, honestly, the Clippers weren't trying hard enough?.....That's crap. They were willing to drop their whole bench for him. Davis was surprised and angry. The whole of management we shocked. No one saw this coming. |

| They screwed over maggette, they got you Davis, they renouced pretty much every free agent we had, and offered you the same deal as the sixers. Did he expect a piece of the team or something. He's trying to sound like a good guy and clippers as bad guys. Just say the truth you didn't want to play with us. Brand knew what his intentions were. |

Of course, he's going to spin it to where the team is the bad guy. I'll even grant that some of what he says may be true.
But being disrespected? Seriously? After the team, it's management and fans stood by him after his injury and such? No way. |

| Yea right. This guy and his jack^%$ of an agent heard what not only the fans but the media have to say about him. If this is true why is davis upset. And even so wasnt he suppose to be taking less money in the first place. There offer was take it or leave it. You knew. Dunleavy even went to see him behind falks back. ITS reported as such. Thats why there was a rumor about falk being mad at dunleavy. It sounds like a bunch of crap. Go to the east coast you quitter. |

Well this is BS, too. It was midnight on Tuesday, not everybody is by the phone ... or they may be talking to other players/teams.
In any case, there's no rule that you have to have a deal at 12:01 AM on Wednesday. Take your time and work on the deal, if you are really truthful about wanting to work with the Clippers.
There is no deadline, such that he had to drop the Clips like a hot potato. |
